Wanted to try Bona Binge and don't know how I feel about it. Don't want to be too harsh with my review based on one drink, but how does one put hella lemon in a black lychee tea drink? I've never heard of this. I also asked for no sugar because I rely on the lychee jelly for a lightly sweet drink. I noticed Boba Binge when I was in Chinatown with my friend. Parking is street parking (meter) or paid parking garage parking. When my mom made her weekly Chinatown trip for groceries, I joined her and we stopped by here for a quick snack. It is a to go spot, so not much service. It was not that busy when we went, but our order took awhile, even the drinks. I saw that in addition to boba drinks, they also had banh mis and I love a good combination banh mi. I tried my usual - their jasmine milk tea, while my mom tried their mango matcha latte. My milk tea straight up tasted like sweet milk with little to no tea taste, but it was way too sweet even at less sweetness - I think my drink would had been better with a little less sugar. My mom did not like her mango matcha latte, she thought it sour and syrupy. The boba was kind of soggy as well. The banh mi was not that good, the bread was flaky/hard on the outside and soft/soggy on the inside, while the meat did not taste that fresh either. read more

5 stars for the milk tea, 4 stars for the food, 5 stars for value. Boba Binge is my new go-to spot for milk tea, joining Golden Tea Shop and i-Tea as my favorites in the Oakland area. I've had the Assam Black Milk Tea and Dark Roast Oolong Milk Tea several times now, and they always hit the spot. Strong tea flavor and perfect level of sweetness at 50% sugar. Looking forward to trying their Strawberry Milk Tea / Matcha Latte next! I've also had the Grilled Pork Banh Mi and Grilled Beef Sandwich, with a slight preference toward the Grilled Beef. Looking at the pictures, you might think that the veggie ratio is overwhelming but it balances well. I do wish the bread had a little more crunch, but this is personal taste. All in all, a solid banh mi alternative if you're not able to make it out to Banh Mi Ba Le. The Popcorn Chicken is also quite good - while I think it could have more spice (not the hot spicy kind), I do like the generous chunks of chicken they use as well as the pieces of garlic and aioli included. Final note is that the food and drinks have really good value - you can walk out with a banh mi, popcorn chicken, and milk tea for ~$20, which is an amazing deal for the Bay! read more

I have been here twice and only gotten the avocado smoothie and the popcorn chicken, both times. It was a very clean place and pleasing to the eye. The inside is small but there are a few chairs inside, mainly for waiting for your order. The avocado smoothie was pretty good! The second time I went I got it with extra avocado but i dont think it needs it. Just wanted to try. The popcorn chicken was a nice snack, you can get it spicy or not spicy (I got the spicy though) The staff is very friendly and nice and the wait time was not long at all. The lychee black tea and banh mi were both delicious! I love that they offer fruit teas on top of the classic bobas. My lychee black tea had whole pieces of lychee in it for extra ~flavor and authenticity~. Although I enjoyed my banh mi and would get it again, it wasn't the most flavorful banh mi I've had and I think more pickled veggies would go a long way. Decided to give my first review for Boba Binge!!! I've been loving their Mango Matcha Latte and Meatball Banh Mi. The matcha is wonderfully strong and feels just right with which they call mango puree. The sandwich is fresh and tastes so authentic to me. Plus, it's always fully filled w/ the toppings inside. Mung Bean Milk Tea is my all time favorite drink; I'm so happy that they finally have it. Yesterday, I gave it a try, and I was totally IN LOVE. It's just the perfect amount of sweetness (if you're not a sugar lover), or you can ask for extra sugar though. I noticed that they've made pretty much adjustments in their drinks and banh mi. Really enjoying the combination banh mi here! I have gotten it a few times and it is packed with flavor and it is hearty and thicc. I love it and I think the maggi seasoning on the bread is a bit of that extra touch! Fruit tea wise it is rare that 25% sugar actually tastes like 25% sugar! The sandwich tasted very fresh, tons of crispy veg, excellent mayo, good bread and tasty tofu (yes, it looks messy in the pic, sorry). Honestly, some of the other banh mí in the area can be slap dash, a bit stale and in need of more veg. I will absolutely be back. Color seemed a bit on the lighter side. Definitely on of the better Vietnamese Iced Coffees I've had flavor wise. My major gripe was that their "normal" ice was "A LOT" of ice. (See image). It felt like more than 50% of the cup was filled with ice. The amount of ice in the drink makes it a bad value, especially at $5.50. A new boba shop in the area! I came by earlier this week and ordered an iced vietnamese coffee with boba. My order came out pretty quickly and the store itself was clean and brightly lit. The coffee was pretty strong, had a good flavor, and wasn't too sweet. The boba was just ok, I probably wouldn't get it as a topping again since it wasn't soaked in honey or brown sugar. I ordered a bahn mi for pickup. I double-parked but I saw two parking enforcement cars ticket other double-parked cars on a nearby street. I knew they would busy for a few minutes. The place is very clean and the person that helped me was friendly. While I admiyt I have not yet tried Banh Mi Ba Le yet due to their short hours and long lines, this was the best bahn mi I've had in Oakland so far. With pandemic plaguing businesses, I'm glad this shop revived this Chinatown corner. There was a previous milk tea shop in it's place but that shuttered it's doors during the pandemic. They have a limited menu at the moment so I'm hoping to see it expand. It does compete with quite a number of milk tea shop around the corner. What differentiates them is the do offer drinks the others lack. It's tad pricier than the other shops but you can taste their high quality ingredients. I've tried their mango matcha latte, strawberry matcha latte, assam black tea with salted cream cheese, oomanthus oolong milk tea, and popcorn chicken. All of them have been tasty even their salted cream cheese. They may not have T4's endless menu but they do craft their select drinks well. Another plus is their boba stays pretty chewy after 5 hours of sitting in room temp.. I know boba typically doesn't stay chewy for long but that day I just couldn't finish my boba in an hour. read more

Another new boba shop opened up in Chinatown. I have to try it. I ordered a matcha strawberry latte w/ boba & almond milk for milk replacement and my bf ordered a mango green tea w/ boba. Also ordered a mother matcha strawberry for a friend w/ boba. Both our orders, we've adjusted to less sugar. Weirdly enough our friends drink is less sweet than ours and we did not adjust that drink at all. Which is weird, guess they need to work on the level of sweetness. The boba was perfect; it was warm & the texture was on point. We noticed they sell banh mi ( Vietnamese sandwich) as well but we didn't get to try it since we've already ate. The Togo carrier, be very careful with it. The bottom is flimsy. The material feels like it can handle it but it broke on us. Luckily, my bf caught it in time.
