Conveniently located just across the street from the hospital and a godsend at 7am for coffee and breakfast. Lunch here is tasty also. Staff if super friendly and the ambiance is relaxed with up beat music.

My friend recommended me to Bodegas Taco Shop because it's near the zoo. I think it was fairly good to eat here as many elites gave 4 stars or above. Considering we came before the lunch rush hour. We were lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant. Well, I had to pay at zone 47744. The restaurant was pretty clean at that time. But the cashier was throwing ice cubes at the line workers. They exchanged words in Spanish. Ah, so playful. Food came out and I didn't pay attention to see when we got our taco plates . But the beans and rice were in tiny portions like in sauce cups. I guess the portion was okay. The beans were soupy, fork can't get everything from the cup. So, I chugged down into my mouth. Tacos were tasty. I had grilled fish with avocado tacos. My friend had enchiladas and a salad. We enjoyed the atmosphere because we were the only customers at the restaurant.

straight to the point tex-mex. the tex-mex basics is really all we need in life. the staff seemed liked they just were unhappy, which is sad. but the food was good, despite everyones sad faces. the layout of the restaurant is very strange and doesn't follow a natural energy layout.. and its pretty dark in there, even during the day. i would definitely recommend sitting outside. do not order the happy hour margaritas... they are too sour. but other than that tiny complaint, i would definitely recommend visiting or ordering takeout. bonné appétit c.

Great lunch spot for the family/friends if you're hungry coming back or going to the park! It was a beautiful day so we ate outside in the patio. My fish taco combo plate was delicious. Avocado slices on top are a must. The fish was grilled perfectly. The only thing I disliked were the prices- $15 for my taco plate! Eek. This is why I hardly eat out. Otherwise if you're in the area, I would recommend this place if you're craving good Mexican food.

I was introduced to this location by a bike group and this is often their pit stop. I had a chance this week to stop by again and I always order the Chicken Enchilada plate. This time I tried the Cadillac Margarita with a top shelf tequila of your choice. Parking is not great, but they do have a parking garage. I recommend parking on the street. They make your food in front of you, which is always great. The portions are generous as you can see! They are located in a medical area near the museums. Service has always been great, it's fast and they accommodate any adjustments that you want to make to your order.

We loved the fajitas with corn tacos and the fish tacos! Great to share. You order at the counter, get a number and seat yourself. Generous portions, hearty, and a college student favorite with beers and jugs of margarita!

Great food at great prices! I am glad only one of us ordered the plate because it would have been too much food. We got chips and queso. Crunchy chips made in house. I ordered a quesadilla plate with grilled veggies and I had them add pico de gallo inside. It is served with a side of refried black beans and rice. He ordered a chicken Tinga taco and they asked do you want the plate. I am glad he only got a single taco because we had leftover. All for $22 before a small tip.

Great spot to hang out with a very large group of friends! It can be very hard to coordinate last minute gatherings and Bodegas made it easy! The service was timely, the food was tasty and the interior was lovely and clean. I liked the ceiling lights that reminded me of the holidays! We were allowed to sit and eat and we're never rushed or hurried to finish and make room. Their takeout is equally good! I loved the taco bowl, though it was a bit difficult to eat at times. The fillings were really tasty as were the desserts. A good spout when you're craving Tex-Mex!

Needed a place to eat lunch before heading to Children's Museum and this place was super close. Walked up, ordered, and the food came out quickly. I ordered the chips and queso as an app and they were both delicious. As my meal I ordered the appetizer street tacos, which were just ok. The rice and beans were a small portion...and not just on my plate. The flavoring of the meat was also just ok. My friend's son ordered the chicken tenders and fries and really liked them. My friend ordered the pork plate and cleared his plate. If you're in the museum district and looking for a place to go, this is an ok spot.

I ordered my food in the car on the way to the Motown revue. the food was fresh and being made as I was walking in. The staff was very friendly and the casual environment made me comfortable to bring my folding chair inside as I was headed to the show. The salsa is definitely caliente but I love that and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I had more than enough food and the charro beans and rice were a great addition. Thanks fir being a delicious mirage otw to the pavilion.

I've passed by this place many times when leaving the park and always wanted to check it out. So this day I was at the building it was in and decided to get a breakfast taco. When I went in there were people in line like cafeteria style. They were telling the server exactly what they wanted on their tacos and the servers were moving fast. So I picked a flour tortilla with refried beans, eggs, and brisket. The second one was without the meat. Those tacos were SO yummy!! I will definitely be back for more! I also got their mango & pineapple lemonade and it was so good and refreshing!

    Christina M.

So we picked up some tacos for lunch. They all had rice and beans and an array of tacos. These tacos were bland, looked like the beef fajita meat had been boiled then seasoned. The refried beans were like a soup. We weren't expecting this because of the long line and good reviews but this was a huge letdown. We won't be back unfortunately. This is not the standard for a Houston taco shop. I'm sorry I'm leaving this review bc I hate to do this to a business but the food quality has to improve

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. We were able to snag some free street parking and wandered our way into a cute setup with mood lighting and plenty of seating. There's a central bar and plenty of outdoor patio space. We were immediately helped as soon as we found a table which I really appreciated. The menu is HUGE and has anything you could possibly want. We're big red wine fans so we settled on that page. J opted for a cab while I decided on a couple to sample before ultimately choosing a red blend. I appreciate that they're more than happy to give you a taste before committing to a glass. You can choose between 3 or 6oz pours, or a bottle. We also decided to share a cheese board with the Willoughby cheese which was soft and delicious! I appreciated how kind and accommodating the servers were as they frequently checked on us. This is a great spot to enjoy some wine with friends, on date night, or anything really! We came in as an impromptu visit after an earlier event and figured we'd just stop in for a glass of wine or so. Upon walking in, the place is super cute with dim lighting and was quite crowded on a Thursday night. We didn't immediately find available seating, but after a couple minutes, a table opened up and we sat there. Our primary server was Grayson, who was super knowledgeable about the wine list. Other servers tended to us throughout the night, and all were equally as knowledgeable about the menu offerings. At the time we went, they were featuring various wines from Beaujolais. We ended up trying one of these, the Alexandre Burgaud Brouilly Rouge, which was a full-bodied red. This was a great recommendation, and I will say that we didn't conclude the visit on only one of these bottles... Based on Grayson's food recommendations, we ended up ordering the Mortadella panini and a combination charcuterie board. The Mortadella panini was unique but good - tomato, mortadella, provolone, and mustard all served on a pretzel bun. Probably not my dish of choice alongside wine, however I did really like the charcuterie board. We asked them to surprise us on the cheese and meat, and they really came through. The prosciutto was tasty and the cheese (can't remember which one) had a peppery flavor to it, which paired well with our red wine. The overall clientele vibe seemed like a range of date nights, girls nights, first dates, and solo drinkers. I love the diversity! We ended up making friends with the table next to us and eventually merged tables to make this a fun group date night. Definitely a highlight of the visit. We will definitely be back sooner than later. This is a cute neighborhood bar that I look forward to returning myself and brining out-of-town guests to come experience. They also have a dog-friendly patio - something to keep in mind whenever the day calls for drinking some wine in nice outdoor weather!

I didn't run into any issues having to have any reservation, but I can see it being busy if there's any celebration. There's also an outdoor area too if you wanna hang out, the day I went, it was raining so it was closed, but I could see that being really nice in the summer. They have a really, really big drink menu. And a lot of cocktails. I drank a pretty in pink, it was a tasty drink and I highly recommend. Very good and classic cocktail, sweet and tangy and aesthetically pretty. I think it's a classic sports bar with a bunch of TVs that you could just watch any sort of game and grab a drink or a beer. I would say the appeal of the location is probably the vast drink menu. On the menu, there's a lot of real food, or shareables. I was with a large group so we stuck to more shareable's. The pizza was good and pretty standard. I thought the nachos wasn't as good, the steak was kind of overcooked, but still a great shareable item. Service was a really fast and accommodating. We ended up having to change tables multiple times because of our guest count, but they were really helpful about it and accommodating. The only saying that I didn't like is that they don't have a lot that you can self park. It's valet only it's $10 on the weekdays and $20 on the weekends. The area is relatively safe, but I ended up valet because of just a lot of people walking around the area. It felt more safe, but the valet was definitely more expensive than I would've preferred. First things first: parking. They offer valet with two options. We were told it was $20 for them to park your car in their lot (I'm guessing that's their "VIP" option) or $10 for them to take your car to a parking garage. I chose the $10 option, and funny enough, they still parked my car in the VIP lot area anyway, so no complaints there. As for the restaurant itself, it's very spacious with a really nice vibe. It would be a good spot for happy hour, catching up with friends, or a casual date night. The service was pretty quick and they were also considerate in allowing me and one of my friends sit about 15-20 minutes earlier than our party's reservation start time rather than us having to sit at the bar or something. For drinks, I tried the French 75 and the Pretty in Pink. Completely different vibes, but both were tasty and well made. Food-wise, I started with the Brussels sprouts, and honestly, they weren't my favorite. I felt like they needed a sauce or something to tie everything together because when I took the leftovers home and paired them with an aioli, they were significantly better. The calamari was pretty decent, and surprisingly, the side house salad was probably the best thing I ate all night, which made me laugh because it wasn't anything particularly special. Overall, this isn't a place I'd rush back to on my own, but it was still a solid experience. I wouldn't be opposed to returning if someone else suggested it, especially for happy hour, the drinks, and the atmosphere.
