Came here for lunch and had the $1 wings. I had 5 soy garlic and 5 kbbq. I liked the kbbq better due to it having more flavor. Mon-thur $1 wings come check it out!

Bonchon SGV is having a special dine-in weekday promo going on: $1 wings! Enjoy up to 15pc wings for only $15 :) We got the sweet & garlicky soy garlic and slightly spicy & tangy yangnyeom flavors. They also offer other flavors like classic crunch, which pairs perfectly with the creamy spicy mayo sauce! The wings were perfectly crispy and juicy. We also ordered the Seoul Sampler with bulgogi french fries, chicken wings, corn cheese, veggie dumplings, and coleslaw! They also offer bulgogi bibimbap and sotteok, featuring savory rice cakes and sausages. Such a perfect shareable with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy! They also added some must-try new menu items like the k-chicken sandwich and refreshing cucumber salad. Such a nice change from the usual and definitely worth trying! I'd highly recommend trying this place out :)

Why is it that each time I come here, something goes wrong? I honored my cravings for wings and dined in since they had their promotion for 1$ wings. Partner and I did not wait very long and seated shortly. The place was packed and it was understaffed, so service was a miss. There was another party that got their order in, their food came out shortly, but they were seated after us. Partner was starting to get irritated by the delays. We had our order taken and given the lowdown of how ordering works: you're only allowed to order the promotion first. Additional orders for wings means you pay their regular price. 12 pieces was enough to feed us, but they didn't include their big fat drumsticks. Our fries came out after the wings for some reason, and that was a bit of the wait. We didn't even get plates upon seating lol. At least the food was good, but it was chaotic from start to finish.

4/25/26 Trying Korean fried chicken for the first time

4/25/26 Korean Fried Chicken (Mixed 6 PC: 4Wings + 2 Drums)-- thought I'd give it a try--why the heck not!? Best decision tonight! Cute spot at this plaza in San Gabriel where two of my other favorite shops are located, Old Ferry Donut & Paris Baguette. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in and I asked how long would it take if I were to order fried chicken? The friendly young man at the counter quoted 15 minutes. There's indoor dining but most of the orders I saw the time I was waiting were for takeout. The playlist was bumpin'- music you can dance to. The camaraderie between staff was charming and genuine. Parking is free and would probably be challenging during peak hours. In about 7 1/2 minutes my order was up-- that was pretty quick ! Off I went to take it home, excited to try this chicken for the first time! Oh, me oh my! Still warm, crispy, crunchy, slightly sweet and spicy. It was simply delicious, full of flavor, my kind of fried chicken!! I'm glad I requested for the pickled radish. That was the perfect side dish for this fried chicken. Highly likely to return & try other items, I'm eyeing the Japchae.

Been meaning to come by to try them out for a while now, I'm glad to have had a chance to eat here today. The vibe is pretty chill, the service was friendly and excellent. I ordered 10 of their $1.00 wing + soda I should have ordered the max of 15 wings, (5 soy garlic and 5 Yangnyeom) both taste good!, I may also order their fries next time. The place has a sports bar kind of vibe and kept clean

Great service! The waiter was so friendly. They also had a $1 wing special going on while we were there only available for dine in. They had the baseball games going on the multiple TVs while we ate and it was a good time! Parking can be a little hard as it's a busy plaza.

It seems like they're running promotions like $1 wing because they're trying to increase business . I tried to come in and was going to miss last seating. I called to be considerate. They were not willing to seat me and were using that to reject letting me order at promo price. Like I'm willing to tip as if I'm dining in and I'm willing to bounce to let the staff go home. Seems strange to turn away business. EDIT: so instead of internally forwarding the concern, you had me go through a bunch of form replies for a canned response reply from corporate. Smh

Came here today for lunch...get here when they open...because the tables fill up quickly. Thankfully I got there when they did open. The staff was and is very friendly...to all the customers...the staff was very accommodating and took care of everyone. They are great. They have a great menu and a lunch-special menu...I ordered from the lunch-special menu. I guess the negative...if there is one, this is one of many restaurants that offer chicken with lots of flavors to add and it's expensive. There are sooooo many chicken places offering hot and spicy chicken or Korean fusion or tex-mex...you know what I mean...so many specialty chicken places that for some reason, charge an arm and a leg for a wing and a leg. See what I did there! All that being said, Bonchon's chicken is very good. I'd eat here again. I can get a great meal at El Pollo Loco and spend less...and once in a while spoil myself and spend more to eat here. I hope you understand my review...with tax and tip, just water and lunch special, $20.00. To be fair...it's getting expensive to eat out everywhere even for chicken. In close...come to this location you won't be disappointed.

Undecided for dinner, came back for their $1 wing special, this is the only thing I'd like tonight. Ordered the Korean sweet corn, did not like it, way too much mayonnaise, that's all I tasted! Also ordered new item that had rice, hotdog, egg, topped with mayonnaise and ketchup, did not like it, the mayonnaise and ketchup did not go well with the other flavors, this was just bad, wasted calories! Regardless of the bad food, we had great customer service, thanks, Jaser!

Recently went to bonchon for the first time after years. It is better than I remember. I ordered online which was super easy and got a combo which was 4 wings, 2 drumsticks, and a side of your choice of cold slaw, rice, or radish. I picked rice and chose soy garlic. Total was $13.99 +0.99 convenience fee and $1.47 tax...didn't realize there was a convenience fee until looking at it now but don't love that. I might've ordered from a third party but I thought it was their website. Food was better than I remember. It was pretty crunchy and tasty exterior, however I remember the interior meat was okay. I think I prefer bbq chicken the chain more, but it is down main street so a bit further for me. Service was great - it was a quick interaction since I just went to pickup but the cashier told me they were doing $1 wings the month of January 2026 (?) for dine in only on weekdays I believe. I would've done that had I known! Didn't experience much ambiance since I got to go but it was chill and not crowded, but I went on a random Wednesday afternoon. I would go again out of convenience, but not my favorite Korean fried chicken spot for sure.

Had dinner here after a long day in the office. Nothing beats a cold beer and some Korean fried wings! Great timing too, it was $1 wings special. Once we walked in we were greeted and seated shortly. Service is always great here and it's a nice and clean Korean fried chicken spot. I love coming here. My friend even cheated on her gluten free diet just to eat here lol.

First time here with my coworkers, and overall it was a great experience. The vibe is super chill and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a group outing. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive from the start they walked us through the specials and popular items, which we really appreciated. We decided on the Seoul Sampler, and it was 100% worth it. You get a little bit of everything from their most popular dishes, which made it perfect for sharing. We also ordered wings, plus sides of onion rings and fries. Everything was delicious. The onion rings were especially crispy and flavorful, the street corn, and Bulgogi fries were one of my top favorites so good. The wings were nice and crispy, though the soy garlic sauce was a bit salty for my personal taste. That said, the service really stood out our drinks were refilled before we even had to ask. Great food, great service, and a solid spot I'd definitely come back to.

    Rebecca L.

I came right when they opened at 11 am and got seated right away. They had a deal for $1/wing, up to 15 pieces. I decided to get the wings with yangneom sauce. The wings had the right amount of crispness to it The crunch was nice and loud. The sauce was more sweet than spicy. Overall I would come here again for the deal.

Ask the Community - Bonchon San Gabriel

    Are the chicken wings breaded?

Yes. Korean style breading then dipped again and fried again. Delicious.

What's time is your last seating? I was standing in line around 8:28 pm today 3/31 then staff attended to me at 8:30 and was told I can only order to go. I've come at least a couple occasions and was still seated at 8:30.

Hi Vicky, thanks for taking the time to write and provide feedback on this experience. Our store policy has been for new walk in customers looking to dine in, we cut off 30 mins before closing in order to allow our kitchen sufficient lead time to…

Do you have a drive thru?

there's no drive thru ... place your order online, park and run in to grab your food

Do you have party tray price?

Hi Tom, No sorry, we are a franchise operation and corporate does not have any party tray options on…

Is your fried chicken gluten free?

No sorry, our traditional recipe calls for the chicken to be coated in flour before it is twice fried in vegetable oil.

Are you guys open on Veterans Day?

Yes, we have been open every year for Veteran’s day. Sorry for the delay on the response. We always try to do our best to keep the Yelp site updated with current hours.

You still offer the family meal? I don't see it on the website

Yes, try ordering online at Bonchon.order.com or try using the new Bonchon app!

Hi. Do you still offer the family meal?

    Yes we do.

    Is your chicken halal?

No sorry. We prepare our chicken in a traditional twice fry process the true Korean way!

Is your fried chicken free of any fish or seafood sauce? I want to order but someone in my party is allergic to seafood and seaweed.

We don’t use any fish or seafood sauce in the preparation of our chicken. It is fried using soybean oil.

Is it actually going to reopen on July 10? Before it said it's going to reopen on July 1, but it didn't.

Hi Isabelle, we are pushing back our reopen date to Mon 7/13. My apologies for the inconvenience but that is a pretty firm date now at this point. We appreciate your patronage and hope to see you soon!

Is the food safe if you have a peanut allergy? Do you cook with peanut oil or have peanut related ingredients in the kitchen? Thank you!

We use soybean oil to fry our chicken and for all stir fry dishes, e.g. fried rices, japchae. We do not use whole or chopped peanuts in any other dishes. Hope this answers your question!

Can you get plain fried chicken without any sauce?

Yes absolutely, we just cannot provide any of the proprietary sauces on the side as the Franchise does not allow that.

Still open for takeout during COVID-19?

Yes, we are still offering take-out. And I am trying my hardest to get set up for third party deliveries, e.g. Grubhub, DoorDash, etc.

Why are you close on Super Bowl Sunday?

We have made a personal business decision to close our store EVERY Sunday. Our family worships on Sundays and we wanted to afford our staff the same opportunity if they so desire. Additionally, we felt that it was important to have a consistent day…

    How much is corkage?

We do not really have an established policy as we have never had any customers request us to bring in their own alcohol. What are you thinking of bringing in and is it some kind of special occasion?

How is it compare to the Bomb Chicken in Monterey Park?

I like Bomb Chicken more. My SO likes Bonchon more partly because it can be made spicier. Bonchon is also a larger place with a more restaurant feel rather than fast food and has way better service.

    Are you open for today(05/27/2019)?

    Yes we are!

Do your clothes/hair smell after consuming the food here?

No, it's not like a Korean bbq place where the food is cooked right in front of you on a grill, and I believe the kitchen is behind closed doors. The food is not that pungent. No need to worry about smelliness!

What are your hours for Christmas Eve? When's the last time you'll take takeout orders?

It's located along E Valley Blvd, in a small plaza with other businesses such as Melo Melo. You're lucky if you can find parking outside, but as it's summer and I wasn't trying to turn my car into an over, passed over that and parked in the underground part of the lot in the back. A Ri Rang is in the corner of the plaza opposite of Melo Melo. It's a decently sized space with a lot of tables, and friendly staff. It's a Korean Tofu house most similar to ones like BCD. It wasn't busy when we went around late afternoon (peak heat). I absolutely loved that as they sat us they provided a pitcher of what I think was iced barley tea. SO REFRESHING, and was much more satisfying than plain water. They had pitchers along the table near the back ready for customers. Loved that. The ladies serving and taking orders were nice and friendly. If you've never been A Ri Rang provide banchan (sides) similar to what you'd get at a KBBQ spot. No worries about eating it all, you can have it refilled. Each one hit as they were all cold side dishes from the crisp broccoli, to the cucumber and cabbage kimchi they were perfect. My bf and I ordered one Galbi and Naeng Myeon (cold noodles) combo, and a Bibim Naeng Myeon (spicy cold noodles). This hit so well, the Naeng Myeon was icy with ice chips through the broth keeping it cool. Topped with sliced daikon, cucumbers, half a boiled egg sprinkled with ground sesame seeds. And of course the chewy buckwheat noodle underneath, this dish was everything. The broth was light and tangy and savory. I added a little bit of the mustard and it added nice horse radishy note to the broth. The Bibim version was the same thing just with a spicy broth which was not extremely spicy but had a sweeter taste profile. The Galbi came on a bed of sliced onions on a sizzling plate. It was the perfect addition to share, charred crisp edges of meat, sweetly marinaded, it was delicious. I am definitely coming back in the cooler months to try their tofu soups. If you're looking for cold noodles in the SGV this place is a great choice!

Everything was fresh and complemented the meal nicely. The bulgogi and seafood tofu soup combo was just as satisfying. The bulgogi was well seasoned, and the tofu soup had plenty of seafood with a rich, comforting broth. We also tried the new cold noodle, which came in an icy chicken broth with shredded chicken and buckwheat noodles. The owner recommended adding a little vinegar, and it completely brought the dish together. It added just the right amount of brightness, and the broth became incredibly refreshing. It ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the meal. The food here is honestly the reason to visit. It's very close to the quality you would find in Koreatown, but without having to deal with the headache of Koreatown parking. That's a huge plus if you're in the SGV. The ambiance is modern, clean, and comfortable. Even during our visit, it wasn't overly loud, and we were able to have a normal conversation throughout the meal. Service was just okay. The staff seemed overworked, and it looked like they could have used more help. The one server who came around to refill our banchan was incredibly sweet and friendly, and we really appreciated her attentiveness. Unfortunately, everyone else, including the owners, came across as a bit short with customers and not particularly welcoming. It didn't ruin the meal, but it was noticeable. Parking was easy thanks to the large free parking lot shared with the other restaurants and 168 Market, making it much more convenient than trying to find parking in Koreatown. Overall, I'd come back for the food. If you're looking for solid Korean comfort food in the SGV without making the drive to K-town, Young Dong Tofu House is definitely worth checking out. The remodel gave the restaurant a fresh new look, and hopefully as they settle in and add more staff, the service experience will improve because the kitchen is already doing a great job.

The waiting area is pretty big, kind of like a lounge with a arcade on the side, very aesthetic and spacious. Parking - Free above and underground lot, spacious overall and plentiful. One fun aesthetic about this spot is that you can play game to see if you can hit "0.92" on the machine, if you do then you get your meal for FREE, but of course it's very hard. My brother got 0.91 so it was quite close, nonetheless, a little fun experience before you get seated. There's plenty of tables here and it's very spacious between you and the other diners in the restaurant. It can get a bit stuffy with all the smoke from the grill but other than that, very clean overall with plenty of staff walking around. Each staff is designated to a specific area and they're all pretty quick. They're friendly as well which is a nice gesture to see. With how busy it is, they're always on the move and they got some of our orders wrong along with missed orders which is understandable. All the meats that we've tried were so delicious, personal favorite goes to the bulgogi, beef belly, and brisket. All the cuts were very good and not too fatty which is the best part. The bonchon is great as well, plenty of options and most of them are what you usually see at standard Korean restaurants. Personal favorite goes to the fish cake, a bit spicy but very delicious overall. Besides the meat cuts, I love their kimchi fried rice, although it used to be bigger portions and come in a Korean lunch box, now it's just a small bowl, still tasty regardless. Also love their steamed egg, super puffy and very delicious, not too salty either. Overall, one of the best KBBQ spots not only in SGV but all of California/US/Worldwide. They have so much meat cuts, many non meat options as well, great staff, clean restaurant, and most of all, very delicious foods. Happy that TK92 is still consistent and high quality after all these years.

They were fresh and tasty, although they came in the shell and were on the smaller side. We also really enjoyed the steamed egg, K-ramen, and fried dumplings. The kimchi fried rice, cheese fondue, and tofu stew were just okay and didn't really stand out. As for the meats, the quality was average and not what I'd consider premium. The beef brisket was especially a bit rough and chewy. The restaurant was also a little noisy, making it harder to have a conversation. Service was quick. Overall, it's a decent AYCE spot for the price.

Everything was really satisfying, and I also enjoyed the K pop music they were playing. They have a great menu with lots of different options, so there's something for everyone. We dined-in, and we ordered the mung bean pancake, boneless chicken with soy garlic, and half chicken with honey butter. Total was $45.27 (including tax, before tip). While waiting for our order, we were given pickled radishes and the sauce for our mung bean pancake. I really enjoyed the pickled radishes, they were nicely sweet and sour. It took around 10 mins for our order to come out. Mung bean pancake: I absolutely loved the mung bean pancake. It was my first time ever trying it, and it was so crispy and yummy. I love mung beans, so it was great. By itself, the pancake is great, but the sauce that came with it elevated it. It's also a huge portion too! Half chicken with honey butter: This was so crispy and juicy! The honey butter flavor is so unique! I do think it's a bit too sweet for me, but I enjoyed it still. Boneless with soy garlic: I enjoyed the soy garlic flavor more than the honey butter! This was very crispy and tasty too, but not as juicy as the half chicken. Overall, everything was so delicious. All of us enjoyed it! I do prefer bone-in chicken, so I'd probably just get that the next time I come here. I definitely would get the mung bean pancake again too. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
