My roommates and I have been coming to Boomer's throughout this school year and always enjoy their PB Banana Hot Fudge milkshakes. Simply the best. While we are always greeted with kind and relatively fast service even when it's busy, we could all agree that tonight was probably the best experience we have had with a Boomer's staff member. After our order was taken by a friendly young woman, we were waiting for our food in the car when an older, creepy man wandered up to our car and started starring into our windows. Gross. We rolled up the windows and locked the car door, but the cars surrounding us took no notice of this creepy man and did nothing to stop him from harassing us. It was like a light at the end of the tunnel when our warm and friendly car hop strolled up to my roommate's Corolla confidently and told the man to leave firmly. He resisted and while I was afraid the situation would escalate, she stood her ground. A couple minutes later, this woman was passing our milkshakes through the car window and apologizing to us for the old man's behavior. Girl!!! Thank you for recognizing the problem and solving it calmly. Tonight's milkshake tasted better than ever. read more

Food is great and milkshakes are awesome. All though every time I go the employees are super grumpy towards me. I go a lot to deliver for postmates. I understand they don't see tips on those orders but I still feel very annoyed after I pick up the order. I have been eating at Boomers for years and always order the #1 but when I went there on Friday the 30th of December, I was terribly disappointed as I had the worst hamburger I have ever had. The hamburger patty was cooked to the point of hardness and folded over in the bun and consisted of 3 pickles, a slice of cheese and a massive amount of mayonnaise, which absolutely overwhelmed the entire burger. There was no tomato and no lettuce. The fries were good as was my strawberry shake. If I return to Boomers, I will think twice before I order another #1 or maybe even a hamburger. I had an appointment and needed to leave right after I ate so didn't have time to send it back and have them make me another one but thought someone should be made aware that more quality control is needed. read more

My friends seem to always go to this place when they come up to visit from Seattle. They lived here for years and this place was their go-to for a quick casual burger. I've actually eaten the food from here more often from them bringing me an extra burger than me going there myself. I've had several of their burgers and all of them were pretty good although I have a preference for the Fish Burger. Probably had 4 or 5 during the month-long 25th anniversary sale! Voted the best Bellingham Burgers time and time again, Boomer's burgers are made with only the freshest ingredients and lots of them including Boomer's special sauce. Once a year they have there anniversary special and every burger on the menu is $2.50 which is an amazing deal. If you choose to sit inside the restaraunt you may not find a seat. We have consistently loved Boomer's ever since we moved to the Bellingham area and we still consider them the one of the best burger places in the area (with a fun atmosphere). However, lately their service has been getting worse and worse. The last few times we have been there we have waited over 20 mins for food and one of those times it was extremely cold when we got it. The last time we ate there is took nearly 15 minutes for someone to come out and take our order. We had our lights on the whole time! People that got there after us were being helped. Very discouraging. To top it off when we finally were helped the waitress was rude and wouldn't even look at us. It really doesn't get better than Boomers. I've been to them all, I'd even say that Boomers is better than Dick's. Mostly because of the size and the flavor. Dick's is great for the value. They have the big boom which is the go to. Especially when they have their anniversary month. $3 burgers, can you really beat that? The drive in style makes it super convenient for you to dine in your car or just in the eating area. A true college town experience. My husband and I have been going to Boomer's since we were college students at Western and still enjoy it. It's a great little place and if you enjoy a good diner burger, you will not be disappointed. The waffle fries are excellent, and each table has a shaker of the seasoning for you to use if you want more. The shakes are amazing and come in an array of flavors and combinations. Boomers has a pretty decent veggie burger, and in Bellingham, probably one of the best. The downside, though- is that they charge extra for the substitution. It isn't as if the prices are high enough for it to matter much, but it is a small disappointment when you get all excited about the amazing price of the special that day, only to learn that your ethics are going to cost you a WHOLE dollar more. The drinks only come in 20 oz sizes, which can suck when you're super thirsty- but if you order an ice water in addition to your soda/shake/whatev- you should be set. The waffle fries are dope. Boomer's is a Bellingham institution and rightfully so. We generally make a point to stop by here on our summer (and sometimes spring and fall) visits up north. It's a 50's style burger joint and you can order from your car ala Burgermaster, but we generally go in. You order at the counter, then grab a table and they'll bring your order to you. The burgers are delicious, the waffle fries are good, and the milkshakes are heavenly. February is the best month to try all burgers in Boomer's because they celebrate their anniversary and they offer all hamburgers at $ 2.99 they are very busy and still they cooked my hamburgers right ( no E-coli) Any of their hamburger from the "big boom" to mushroom and Swiss to the teriyaki or the Hawaiian were just awesome and the crispy lettuce and fresh tomatoes I couldn't ask for more. Bellingham will be not be the same if they ever close. Their waffle fries crispy not too salty and their milkshakes are also an item to go for and eating in your car as the old time drive-ins just add more character and evoke the 50's ( don't forget to leave the lights on so they know you haven't order yet) and they will come to you fast and friendly, but don't forget to turn them off cause you will run out of battery lol...is just cool in and out.
