FOOD TRUCK- The food truck comes to our neighborhood occasionally, which seems to be very convenient, unless half the neighborhood is there. Im going to break this review down. - It is a one man show, so be prepared to wait. He is very kind, courteous and is working his tail off. He is taking the orders, cashing everyone out, preparing, cooking and boxing all the food by himself. When 10+ families are showing up at a time this causes major delays. So if you plan to order, just be prepared to wait. -Check your order immediately before going home. We arrived at home and 2/3 of our sides were missing. Meaning I was immediately out a good bit of money. The sides are not inexpensive. In addition to this it meant for upset children. (Yes, I could have packed the exhausted and fussy children back up. However, the three of us were already exhausted from work, school and waiting 40 minutes for the food we had ordered). - The flavors are good. I would say it is better than average. The pulled pork was lean, the fried shrimp perfectly crispy, the Brunswick Stew was pretty good. -The prices- The are higher than I would have expected for what we received. At least one side should be included in the price of the protein that you choose (and actually provided when paid for). - Child friendly food- I have picky eaters and my children enjoyed the shrimp and the coleslaw (I gave them my coleslaw from my pulled pork sandwich as theirs were missing). Moral of the story- if you are ordering from the food truck do not expect convenience. It is faster to place a phone order on the way home from your favorite local BBQ place and pick it up. Only tried a couple bbq places in savanah and this was definitely the winner. Brisket was tender , pulled pork, skillet cornbread & beans very good. The sweet potatoes were okay, the sprinkled ground cinnamon power on top which was unusual but I ended up putting a dab of melted butter on that & it helped blend the flavors. Drove over from Wilmington to have dinner, the hostess took me to the outside area due to me having my fur babies and once we reached the patio he asked the bartender if the patio was open, she stated it was not and she would open it at a certain time so we were turn away. If you are planning on bring your fur child to this pet friendly restaurant call ahead and make sure the area is not closed so you do not waste the time driving to the location. read more

100% Plus!! Wow, we loved this place! My chicken was exceptional and my sides, sweet mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese, were amazing! My husband had beef brisket with a salad and fries. We actually tasted the things off of each other's plate as well as eating ours! Portions were huge. A bit pricey but oh so worth it! Our waitress was wonder! Tables were socially distanced very well and masks were worn by staff! We will go back, perhaps even during this vacation! Sauces and seasonings are available for purchase. Stopped by for dinner and sat at the bar. It was a slow Tuesday night. While I had a decent, warm greet at the front door, the service at the bar was lacking. I ordered a beer, the pork shoulder, mac&cheese and baked beans. My food was served hot and fast. Pork was chopped, but a little dry. The bbq sauce is served in small plastic cups. There were 4 choices, but you had to decide what you wanted when ordering. Usually most bbq sauces are in bottles so you can try the different ones, and add as much as you want. I wanted more sauce, but the bartender was endlessly talking with her friend, so I don't bother her. The mac was ok, nothing great. The baked beans were sweet, yet had a peppery taste, I liked them. Overall food was satisfying, but not impressive. The bartender failed to give decent, equitable service, so I was turned off. No thanks for another beer, no thanks for dessert. Open just a bit longer than a year this is a trendy and friendly spot. From the greeting at the door to our server Tristan to the owner Corbin chatting with us, hospitality is a huge aspect of Bow Tie Barbecue Company. And that's just the people! Taco Tuesday is a great deal, and we showed up on a brew night so happily experimented there as well! Light and crispy Onion Rings piled so high we brought half home. Taco 'Bout Pork Music, Shrimp Taco Town and The Brisket One were amazing flavors and quite enough to munch upon! Add a side (perky collard greens for me and smokey baked beans for hubs) and- whew! Decent food, good service We had a large (40+ people) group scheduled for dinner recently and enjoyed a good meal at BowTie. First, their staff appeared prepared for our large group and did a great job of getting everyone's food and drinks out in a timely manner. Second, the food was quite decent. Several of us tried, and enjoyed their Brunswick Stew; I thought it interesting, since we were only a couple of hours from Brunswick, GA. I had the Pulled Pork plate. Now I had to remember, they do Vinegar based BBQ sauce over here - as opposed to "real" BBQ Sauce in Memphis, TN. That said, my meat was quite good, and a highlight of my meal. It was moist, well-smoked and had a good flavor to it - the meat stood by itself as very tasty and pleasant. There was also Baked Beans, spicy but they tasted good. Oh, I almost forgot the dessert. My brownie and ice cream were quite good. During our dinner, another customer told us that she always gets their Fried Green Tomatoes with Feta Cheese on it; my wife also loves Fried Green Tomatoes. It looked as good as it sounded. All that to say, if you are in the area - or simply passing through - and want to eat some good food, at least BBQ and Fried Green Tomatoes, be sure to check these folks out. read more

We had wanted to try Bowties for several years and finally did yesterday for a special occasion for us. My spouse ordered the chicken after the waitress confirmed it would include a breast. The meal arrived with a very small, under cooked serving of chicken which we could not identify as a chicken breast. I ordered the pork ribs which were too fatty to even chew. The wait staff was not friendly and even after requesting our check, we had to sit quite a while before it arrived even though there were only a few other customers in the restaurant. Corbin and Will were the main managers I chatted with through the process, and they made sure all my questions were answered beforehand. They served our food and even helped clean up! I added a side of their mac n' cheese, which was right up my alley! Bow tie pasta, fresh shredded cheese, and a little cream cheese (? I think). My SO almost had to get a room with his Hashtag Hashbrown, that, I quote, "He fell in love with." A pile of brisket and southern hash browns, topped with melted cheddar and an oozy fried egg. Add a drizzle of their maple bourbon reduction and wrap it all up in some buttered Texas toast, you've got the best BBQ he's ever had! I also have to mention are server! It says something that, next to the modern American restaurants that dominate the downtown area, barbecue is the cuisine that's represented the most from local businessmen in this city. There's not so much heritage left in a lot of these places as there is echoes of a generation that have moved on. BowTie is a great example of this: I'm never going to be able to try the barbecue of Johnny Harris, but if we have to shirk off a bit of the past to get a wall of bourbon, a giant tap list of craft beers, and some amazing barbecue, then I'm alright with that. Well, maybe I misspoke, because the barbecue isn't amazing: the puled pork and the brisket I had was cooked well: tender and just the right amount of chew, but pretty bland. It's surprising, considering how everything else I had - savory and well-rounded collards, fries liberally dusted with a sweet and salty spice mixture, and even the toast and cornbread that came with the meal was prepared with the purposeful attention that indicates these guys know what they're doing. But I bit into the mahogany bark of my brisket and tasted nothing but the meat? I think the key is in their house sauces. They want intend on you using that sauce, and if you get the house sauce, you'll want to use it, too. The orange vinegar and tomato-based sauce was so sharp and of the perfect consistency that made it impossible to stop dunking my meat in it until it was all gone. I could drink the stuff. Fans of sweeter sauces look elsewhere (there's other types of sauces on the menu), this is not the sauce for you. Normally, the seasoning on the meat might give me pause, but literally everything else on my plate was perfect, so maybe it's me and my preconceived notions of what barbecue is. Because BowTie isn't concerned about what Savannah barbecue used to be; it's more interested in making Savannah barbecue into something entirely different. read more

I've eaten BBQ from all over the south in several places and this just didn't make the cut. The pulled pork was soggy, and flavorless. The Brunswick Stew was mush and room temperature. The pickles were...not pickles? Satisfied with the portions for the price, but the quality isn't there. It's a great atmosphere and the sauce is good, which is pretty important. The #hasbrown was mostly savory with a little sweet here and there to balance out. It's right next to Planet Fitness, so it's a pretty good spot to hit after the gym. Don't get the vader helmet though. It's an expensive lie. It's just a mushroom burger. There is no meat in it! I got to eat some of my friend's food though, and that was alright. Nothing special. Would definitely, recommend a different place, if you are looking for good barbecue. The brisket was so tender and had awesome flavor. The Mac and cheese was also really good. But that squash casserole is the business!! I can't even tell you what they put in it because it has so many good flavors. It does have a little heat on it but you won't notice because it's THAT good. The have an extensive whiskey list also. My wife and I were just recently married in Savannah and made the decision to go with BBQ at the reception. We tried a lot of local spots but decided on Corbin and Bowtie Barbecue. In short, it was the best decision we could have made. Not only was the food amazing (even better than when we had our tasting) but Corbin was responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. He met with our coordinators to make sure they were familiar with the venue and provide the best setup possible. I really don't have the words to describe how great it was working with him and his team. We were in town for a weekend soccer tournament down the road. My in-laws ate at your place along with two of our 3 kids Saturday and raved about it. They also brought a to-go salad back for my wife who did not want concession food. The salad was a winner and Sunday we decided to eat a late lunch before getting back to Charleston. As you can imagine living in Charleston sets a high standard for food. I got the burger with friend green tomatoes and pimento cheese with bacon jam. (Forgot the name of it) It was a bit more well than medium but it was still a great burger. Nice size to it and the topics were a great combo. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned.
