Terry was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely excited about the food. She said the tuna melt was a 50 on a scale of 10 and she was not exaggerating. I wish I had 2 stomachs, it was so good. This is your typical local diner food - nothing fancy. I had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were very good, tender too and the gravy was flavorful. My mom had ordered the French toast and while she said it had good flavor, it was served so cold that her butter did not melt whatsoever so that was a bummer especially when you pour ice cold syrup on it. :-( The service was fast and the staff were friendly. I really love breakfast early mornings at bread and butter café. The service is awesome, it's like coming into your kitchen at home and having breakfast with your family. I love that it's one of the few places that I really love to eat in Tucson! I am never disappointed with the service or the food. My favorite is the chicken fried chicken in the morning with the gravy on the side and dark wheat toast baby. I am never disappoint it, and that is saying a lot! Because I am disappointed with other restaurants in Tucson. If I could afford to, I would eat here every single meal. The food taste good, and the service is wonderful. What a joy to walk into a bustling breakfast place again. Not bustling with hipsters, but with down to earth folks wanting good food for a good price in an atmosphere of positivity and happiness. The manager greeted me at the door. After told him this was my first time at Bread & Butter we talked about Hollandaise and all things Benedict, they are his favorite. I like a good bennie too but not that morning. He was kind and attentive and have me a taste of their hollandaise. Then the server came over, all smiles. I looked around and really everyone was smiling from the busser to the customers. I ordered simply, an egg over medium and an of bacon, but with 2 pieces of bacon and a sausage pattie also medium. As I was waiting for my order I noticed some pieces of art go by in the form of pie and the most beautiful cinnamon roll I've ever seen. The food I got was perfection. This was our first time here. This is your typical old fashion diner. The service is great. Everyone is very friendly and nice. The food was also very good. I tried the green chili and cheese omelette and the wife had the pecan pancakes. She ordered a short stack. Glad she did, she still brought one home. We arrived early and seated ourselves. A Tucson standard! I live in the neighborhood near B&B and is my go to for a great home cooked meal. I recently returned to Tucson after 20 years and it's still the same as when I left. The new owner has managed to maintain the same great food and service. My favorite server still works there after 30 years or so! Called my order in for pick up and although the website was confusing the hell out of me and the women on the phone was having to repeat EVERYTHING back to me (hate getting orders wrong) she was super patient and never seemed to be annoyed in her voice. The food was amazing!!! Literally the best god damn banana pancakes I've had in my life. Over medium eggs, SOLID! Bacon, Crispy! Oh sausage, yes please! So bomb! We went there for lunch the first time and savored a huge family sized portion of homemade meatloaf with gravy while I devoured their signature plate sandwich. AMAZING!!! Next trip my daughter and I went in for breakfast and let me tell you....you will NOT have to eat for the rest of the day. I licked my plate after enjoying the Sonoran poached egg plate with Chorizo. The wait staff all were very welcoming. The food was prepared hot and fast. My husband hates the fact it is hard to find a restaurant that can cook over easy eggs....they cooked them perfectly here! Prices are reasonable as well. We of course went over board ordering as it was our 1st time here but for $50 feeding four adults and a child, I can not complain. This is my joint. It's in a humble and honest setting. It's simple and to the point. The food is what brings the crowds in. It's crowded, but there is a reason why so many people come to eat here. I really enjoyed this little joint! Had some great brunch here with my boyfriend. I ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad. It did hit the spot, although I wasn't a fan of the potato salad. The service was good and the coffee was always available. I forgot what my boyfriend ordered, but he really enjoyed it. Now... we usually don't do desserts EVER when we go out. We are usually too full. But this place is known for their pies apparently... so we ordered a coconut creme and an apple pie slice with ice cream. Best decision ever. That coconut creme was extremely light and fluffy. The apple pie... to die for. They were generous in their portions and my boyfriend still finished ALL OF IT. Lol. I really liked the down to earth homey feeling this place radiates. This restaurant is located in a strip mall on the north side of 22nd Ave and Columbus. An ordinary outside hides an attractive if low key interior. My meal consisted of two scrambled eggs, four sausage links, coffee, and two large fluffy buttermilk pancakes. I added butter and syrup to my pancakes. Great tasting syrup reminded me is a good maple syrup. The eggs were fluffy and tasty, the sausage links cooked just right. Coffee was hot and tasty. I recommend this establishment to those who prefer simple but tasty breakfast selections. A large number of customers continue to come in as I am typing up this review. This is our hometown cafe. We live five minutes away, and it has become like a part of our family. The menu is typical Tucson fare mixed with the usual diner favorites. Prices are extremely reasonable. The cooks and waitresses know what they are doing. The food and service are uniformly excellent. Two things: 1) it is busy on weekends and peak hours in the AM, but I have never seen unreasonable wait times; and 2) if you are looking for lavish, up-to-date furnishings, go somewhere else. Went here after another place had failed us and could not have been happier! My co-workers and I came here for breakfast and were immediately greeted upon entering. The staff was super nice in every aspect and the kitchen looked clean. I ordered the country friend chicken with eggs over easy with a side of biscuits and gravy. I rarely order my eggs over easy when I eat out because most places mess them up but they were cooked perfectly! The biscuits were fluffy and flakey, the country friend chicken was amazing, and my coworkers said their food was cooked to perfection too! 3 out of 5 of my plates had hair in it. 2 of the plates looked like the hair was some type of animal. They were extremely ridiculous and need beard nets or something needs to happen because I will be calling the health department as well. We have been coming here and this will be our last visit.
