Had a recall on my 2014 Ford Fusion that I needed to get fixed. When I called in they told me they wouldn't give me a loaner, "it's the Bredemann policy," unless I purchased the vehicle through them. Not only did I get my Ford Fusion fixed at Arlington Heights Ford but was also given a brand new Fusion loaner with only 500 miles. Today I went back to Arlington heights ford and purchased a second car. Driving the extra 15 minutes from Glenview to Arlington Heights was worth my time and money! read more

I was very disappointed - borderline insulted - with the service at Bredemann Ford. Came into the dealership and was directed to the salesman. For the life of me I can't remember his name (Jim?), but I really wish I could for the sake of this review. So we sit down, I'm excited to get a new car for my new job and I was very pleasant. I've bought new cars before and this would not have been my first new Ford. I say I'd like to walk out with an Edge at a certain price, and if not that, then maybe an Escape. Tell him I'm ready to move on from my Focus. I'd done some research and my price point was consistent with getting a low-end Edge or high-end Escape. It even matched prices from the dealership's inventory on their website. First, within 3 minutes of sitting down, this guy takes a phone call from his cell. Doesn't even blink, just starts having a full-on conversation. Doesn't tell his caller he's with a customer and doesn't even apologize to me after the call ends. I just sat there awkwardly the whole time. Then, he looks at me like I'm ridiculous for wanting an Edge and starts telling me about how maybe a new Focus is right for me...unless I'm going to pay cash for the Edge. O.O What? This was after I'd just told him that's exactly what I DIDN'T want. Then after he told me he couldn't get me into an Edge at my price point, he shows me cars in their online inventory (not to mention he couldn't even work the dealership's own website) that are fully loaded Edges and $5-8k more than my price point. At that point I asked if I could at least test drive the Edge and Escape to get an idea of the cars, especially since Ford recently changed the Escape's body style and chassis. He then tells me test drives are only for those who actually want to buy a car. I just looked at him and said, "Okay, I think we're done here" and walked out. He then had the audacity to send me a thank-you email the next day. I'd never felt so insulted going to a car dealership. Honestly, this salesman seemed condescending and defensive right from the start. Just an unfriendly, rude guy. After my first visit, I would have given them two stars. After my second, and last, I am definitely giving them one star. You fool, you say, why would you go there after you already had a bad experience? Well, Joyce Ford in the city has some of the most horrific reviews I've ever seen, so I figured I'd give Bredemann a second chance. So, what happened? On the first visit, we brought our 2009 Ford Flex in to have an oil change and a Sync Update with 911 Assist. Pretty simple. When we brought it in, they told us they couldn't do the sync update because approval had to come from Ford, so they'd need time to get that. Me:" Well, I made the appointment two weeks ago on the website." Them: "Oh, you should call next time, we don't really use that website thing. Next time you should really call." The letters "F" and "U" came to mind for some reason. Not only do you offer to make appointments online and not check them, but then you tell me it's my fault for not calling to make an appointment? Okay, whatev, we brought the car in later and they completed the simple service. For Round 2 our Rear Sensor stopped working. I called them to see if there was any hope that it'd be covered under my remaining powertrain warranty (my bumper to bumper warranty ran out about 2K miles ago). They said that it could be, so I made an appointment, over the phone this time of course. I bring the car in, and apparently it costs $109 to check the car. This wasn't mentioned to me over the phone because...? I own a OBD II reader and could have taken sometime to figure the issue out myself, but I figured if it was under warranty I'd be official and have them look at it and fix it. The fact that they didn't mention any cost before I decided to drive 40 minutes and waste half my work day to have these sleezebags look at it is absurd. Needless to say, I'm not going back to Bredemann Ford ever again. Need an auto shop in the city? I highly, highly recommend West Loop Auto. If I need a warranty job, I'm literally going to drive back to Michigan on a weekend, visit some friends, and have my dealership back there do the work. I love Ford, and I really love my Flex, but they have a very, very long ways to go to match their competitors in terms of service in the greater Chicagoland area. read more

When I decided (after going to the Chicago Auto Show) that the Ford Explorer was the SUV for me, I personally checked out 4 Ford Dealerships near me. (BTW, Stay as far away from Golf Mill Ford as you can!) Chester at Bredemann Ford is the best salesman I have ever worked with. (Genuine, conscientious, and hard working) I love my Explorer 4 years later and the service department has been good too. My family have always been taking the car to another dealership for service just because we bought the car there. But during a recent regular oil change, the other place started to push to sell me very expensive fluid flush instead of fixing the question/concern I had with the car. So I looked online and found Bredemann close by and went there. Steve really listens and Joe walked me through the inspection they did for the car. We recently stopped in to get our battery checked. We specifically asked the attendant not to replace the battery yet to talk to us before moving forward with any repairs. We just wanted it tested and a quote for repairs. We waited over an hour and then were informed they replaced our battery without consent. What if we wanted to take the car to Sears or another provider to buy the battery? So then we asked for the paperwork for the new battery - so we can keep track of the warranty. We were told they didnt have any printed documentation. That seems sketchy. Even Sears gives us printed documentation. We were verbally told it was a 3 year warranty and then pro-rated to 5 years. My guess, based on current and previous Ford dealership experience is the dealer will request some sort of proof we have a warranty in 3 years when the battery dies again and then decline the repairs. We also asked for documentation about the battery test they ran and they said they didnt have it. Super sketchy. Are there any quality Ford dealerships in/around Chicago? I doubt we'll ever go back - or even buy another Ford based on our negative experiences. read more

I purchased a 2001 Mustang GT in Libertyville at the now defunct Sessler Ford. They were terrible with service and follow up. I then went to Golf Mill Ford and they were not so good either and always tried to repair stuff that didn't need repair. At about 40k I started taking my car to Bredemann at the suggestion of a co-worker. Their service department has always been outstanding. Their mechanics always answered my questions and on occasion would show me what they were doing and tell me why. I have 230k on the 2001 Mustang GT. In September 2010 I special ordered a new 2011 Mustang GT. Don Young is an awesome salesman! He and the Bredemann crew really made my new car purchase fun. They got me just what I wanted and delivered just as promised. They will call to follow up with service so be prepared. For what it's worth, I am a woman who loves cars and knows a fair bit about them. This is the first dealership that didn't make me feel stupid or ask me if I wanted to bring my dad, brother or boyfriend in for a look. Thank you for that. You guys are the best. read more

My family and I have only had good experiences with this dealership. I live in the city and the Ford dealer I purchased my 2006 Hybrid Escape from went out of business. I tried one other Ford dealer in the city, but their customer service was just OK. After learning from a friend that they always had excellent experiences at Bredemann, I decided to make the hike from the city out to Glenview. EXCELLENT choice! The representatives at Bredemann have always been friendly, constantly communicate with me, appear honest, have serviced my vehicle quickly, and have always been flexible with me, willing to offer a loner car, etc. After my last service, in which I left written feedback as I checked out with my car, I quickly received an email from one of the Bredemann family members/owners to follow up on my comments. It was nice to receive the personal email, and nice to know that even the owners are concerned with the service they are providing, and take the time to reach out to customers. I recently purchased a second car, a Toyota Prius, and have had horrible experiences at Grossinger Toyota in the city, so I will for sure bring my Prius to Bredemann Toyota in Park Ridge next time it needs service. I took my company leased vehicle there for routine service today. The leasing company made an appointment very quickly for me. The staff was professional and courteous. For my routine oil change and tire rotation I was out of there in about a half hour. That was much less of a wait than Jiffy Lube on my last few visits there. I am writing a full review on my 4 years of experience going to the Bredemann Ford dealership. I purchased a new 2013 fusion from Bredemann Ford. To start off I would like to say my purchasing experience was great. I worked with Rick Serrano. Rick was friendly, followed up on my concerns quickly and efficiently, and overall the car buying experience was great and I have no complaints. To contrast, my experience with Bredemanns' service department over the years I have had my vehicle has been terrible. The only reason I am not giving this dealership 1 star is because the car BUYING experience was great, but the service once you purchase the car is not. The first strike happened when my brand new fusion at 6K miles had it's CRM controller malfunction (module that controls the airbags and seatbelts I believe). My airbag light went off on my car, and I brought my car in to see Chris Zelasko in the service department. I recall when buying the vehicle, the sales staff assured me that during repairs I would have access to loaner vehicles because I bought my vehicle at this location (which sounded great at the time). Well when I stopped in and met with Chris, he informed me at the time that this repair would take several days to take care of. I mentioned an air bag issue concerns me as this is a major safety issue, and that I wanted a loaner vehicle as this was what was promised when I bought the vehicle (if a loaner vehicle isn't warranted when you have an air bag issue, when is it?). At the time Chris told me no loaner cars were available, and at the time I was frustrated. I asked to speak to a manager, and immediately Chris changed his story and told me that a loaner car had suddenly become available. Chris was going to get the loaner car ready, and I was helped and sent on my way. My car was repaired, and I carried on with my fusion. At least in the end I got the loaner vehicle, and I didn't have to drive my brand new car with the air bag light on. The second strike happened when I tried to stop in for an oil change (approximately a year ago). Once again Chris Zelasko was the service rep on the floor, (I believe this was a Tues or Wednesday in the middle of the afternoon at about 1pm) and Chris told me that he couldn't fit me in for the oil change. The earliest he could fit me in was Tuesday of the following week (about 6 or 7 days from the day I stopped in). I expressed to him that I thought it was a bit ridiculous that I couldn't even get an oil change taken care of, because at other dealerships I've had these things taken care of quickly. Most service departments can fit something simple like an oil change into the daily routine, but with Chris this wasn't the case and not possible. At the time Chris told me to "feel free to go elsewhere", so I did. Every time I stop in for a service issue at Bredemann Ford, I get the feeling the service department doesn't want to deal with minor repairs like oil changes, and I started avoiding the location all together. I shouldn't have to pull teeth to get my car repaired, and it often feels like that here. About a year has passed since that issue, and I recently had to purchase new tires for my vehicle. I called around a few dealerships to get estimates for getting the alignment done. Well it was very interesting to find out that Bredemann Ford wanted $160 for the work, and the brand new Ford dealership close to my house (Fox Motors) only wanted $99. Well that was strike 3 for me, and made it an easy decision not to go back to Bredemann. Not only is Bredemann 45 mins away from my house, I often feel like I have to pull teeth to get my car serviced there, and to top it all off they are charging 61% more than Fox Motors for this work. Bredemann, with three strikes I am done taking my car here and will visit Fox Motors from now on unless I am forced to do otherwise. I encourage anyone reading this to shop around, because the pricing for my recent alignment quote was significantly higher at Bredemann. At the Ford/Lincoln Fox Motors they have their oil change policy painted right on the wall, if they don't get the oil change done within 30 minutes, the oil change is free. I won't be waiting a week any more for these simple service matters. Thanks Chris, I took your advice and did go elsewhere - and my experience was great. Don't worry I won't be back to Bredemann to bother you. read more

Air vents didn't work, only goes through floor vent. They wanted $1,200 $800 for new control unit and $400 labor. I did it for 60 cents worth of O rings and 30 minutes labor. All I did was check out the web for the instructions. The only thing that goes wrong on these units are the rubber O rings. I can't imagine they don't know this. I guess they are more interested in making money than saving yours. read more

Shopping for a new vehicle should be fun and you should have the feeling that you're getting a good deal. If you do your homework and stick to your guns you should be able to get a decent price and financing. I stopped at a Chicago dealership and had a very unpleasant experience. I knew the dealer invoice, the financing incentives, and the trade in price for my vehicle. They played hardball with all three aspects of the deal and so I walked out. I was pretty discouraged because of the last car I bought was a very easy experience. So I decided to give it one more shot and stopped at Bredermann Ford in Glenview where I've had the bulk of my service done on my car. The difference was night and day and I had a signed deal with in an hour of walking through the door. The price, financing, and the trade in we're all well within range of my expectation. And the experience seemed streamlined compared to where I was previously. So do your homework and make sure that you have a good idea of what you want to pay and what kind of incentives the manufacturers offering. And if you're looking for a Ford I highly recommend Bredermann in Glenview. read more

I've been taking my Ford Escape here for years for all its major services, oil changes and repairs and its always been easy, reliable and affordable. I recently stopped buy to get a headlamp changed (I had a new bulb I purchased elsewhere) and they did it in 10 minutes and didn't charge me a thing. I also had to get a new tire and it was completed in 45 minutes and I was back on the road. The service team is very knowledgeable, answers all your questions, honest and realistic. I can always trust them to get the job done correctly and to not overcharge. I highly recommend them if you own a Ford! read more

Very bad experience with service department! They charged us $800 for a part knowing it would not fix the problem! Then the service guy lied to us, saying the car would run another 2 years before the problem would come up again. We didn't even make it home! Left many messages and no response. We are out over 1,000, incurred over a week of car rental fees and ended up having to buy another car. The Ford is still sitting in our driveway and is completely undriveable. Beware! read more

This place drove me to write my first ever Yelp review. I've been going to their service department for about 4 years, since we moved here with a Ford bought in another state. Things were always slow but generally I was satisfied. That changed recently when I came in for my last service appointment. In addition to the usual needs (oil change, new cabin air filter), they called me back after being there for about a half hour and ran off a litany of new things my car needed, including new tires and brakes. The cost instantly went from about $300/400 to $2000. And, they would need to keep my car overnight. I wasn't thrilled, of course. When I asked if I could get a loaner (I live 20 minutes away), the response was, "Mr. Bredemann doesn't allow us to give loaners to people who didn't buy their car here." At this point I was livid - who says such a stupid thing and expects people to believe it? I almost demanded my keys back that second. They brought a manager over and he begrudgingly agreed to give me a loaner for the night, and knocked about $100 off the price. I ended up replacing only the tires because I honestly wasn't sure I believed them, since it sure felt like a cash grab, and they said, well, the brakes are probably ok. The car was ready the next day and I returned the loaner. The original service guy was there and I literally walked right past him and to the guy at the next desk. This place might have been good a few years ago but clearly the corporate pressure to increase profits has changed it, and I will never go back. read more

IF I COULD GIVE THIS DEALERSHIP A NEGATIVE STAR - I WOULD!!! DON'T GO THERE!! When applying for credit, they messed up my credit score by requesting loans from several banks - like 7 or so. Everytime you have a new credit request on your credit, it goes against your score. No one advised us they were going to do that. The accounting manager was so arrogant when we met him, I would not deal with him and they had to bring someone else in who was friendlier. They "arranged" financing for us, then apparently forgot to notify the bank to get us a payment book. I finally got it 8 months later, but had to find a means to pay the loan in the meantime. They sold me a (used) car with a non working rear defroster. When we brought it in for service under the warranty, they accused us of tampering with the defrost system! TWICE! Service dept. had my car for over a day and couldn't find time to call me to tell me the status of the car! They were too busy. The service rep put my credit card information into another customers account! Then he couldn't take it out! My husband called the service rep incompetent because of this and he told the sales manager that my husband had threatened him!! Super hostile, defensive and inappropriate!!!!!! This dealership is ONLY interested in sell you a car. Their customer service attitude is truly awful. Again - DON'T GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. read more

Called Bredemann Friday and spoke to David I regarding a car I wished to sell outright. He told me that Bredemann does buy used cars even though I wasn't interested in trading it in and to stop by any time. I showed up with the car I wanted to sell which was a 2013 Ford Fiesta purchased less than a year ago with 250 miles and in excellent condition. I am self-employed and work on long term projects all over the US (and now Europe) so I purchase an 'airport' car instead of renting cars every week. I ended up taking a local project and then one in Europe so I no longer needed this car. The sales people at Bredemann initially seemed skeptical that someone told me they were interested, nonetheless were pleasant enough and went to find David. Both the 1st salesperson I spoke with when I entered the dealership and then David, asked how much I owed on the car. In both cases, I said it was irrelevant to the value of the car. David then said it would be easier for all of us if they worked through Ford Credit. I concurred but once again asked that it be appraised before I told them how much I owed. I said I could pay the car off and get the title if necessary and it wasn't a factor for me, although he argued with me about the timing Ford Credit quoted to get the title. At that point, David held up the keys - without having ever looked at the car, much less appraised it - and said 'You know what? We're not interested in your car. I think there are too many games being played here.' I chuckled to myself, agreed with him and left. I think we've all been told not to use monthly payment as a factor during the car buying process. I assume that holds true for the selling process too. It is laughable at best, that a used car salesman has the audacity to suggest I was playing games, because I doubt he was talking about himself. I have lived in Glenview and Northbrook all of my life, have an impeccable credit rating, and would have been a potential Bredemann customer. I have no desire to do business with a dealership that would allow their sales people to insult customers. read more

This is my 1st Ford Purchase. I was debating between a Toyota Tundra and a Ford F150. I found 3 different trucks one being at Bredemann Ford in Glenview. All 3 trucks were very similar. I met with Paul Iphjian, the sales rep, and he was very knowledgable about the truck. He had the most information on the truck. He made the buying process very easy. I noticed there was a small dent on the back of the truck after I purchased it and Ira Schreiber, the Sales Manager, took care of if for me in a timely manner. Definitely a great place to shop for a new or used Ford. I'm glad I found them. Will be looking at them when the time comes to purchase my wife's car. read more
