Took the boys to Universal Studios and didn't really want to eat anything in the park, so we decided to grab something at Bubba Gump Shrimp. When we walked up we were greeted by the hostess outside and she took my numbers down to alert me when my table would be ready. It took about ten minutes and we were brought to our table. The place was pretty packed, our area was clean and the waiter was very cool. I actually think the service was a little better than the food. They have plenty of options but most of their entrees include shrimp. They also have an extensive kids menu that has everything from cheeseburgers, corn dogs, chicken strips and some fish, crab and shrimp options. So it's definitely a family friendly restaurant. Lastly, they have a plethora of mixed or blended drinks that look amazing! I was driving home so I passed but usually I get one if going into the park after. My kids decided to order the corn dogs and fries meal and the Mac n cheese and fries meal with Shirley temples. They had no issues and scarfed it down. I'm not sure if it was that good to them or they were just hungry. I ordered Lt Dan's Drunken Shrimp and it was pretty good! The only thing I didn't like were the onion rings on top. They were too soggy so my boy ate them . One thing that was pretty cool that gives them an extra rating point is the waiter coming to our table and playing a trivia game with us on the forest Gump and the Super Mario Bros movie. It was fun and made the wait time go by quickly. So, because of that my rating goes up an extra point. Overall, the food was an about a 3 and the service bumped it to a 4. Very cool and fun environment and experience for the kids. I would only go here if going to universal studios. OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

The shrimp was rubbery and cold, shocking this is a shrimp place. I guess this is the NORM for Bubba Shrimp NOW.

I ordered the Mahi mahi shrimp dish and the plate was room temperature and the shrimp was rubbery and cold. Shocking that this is a shrimp place. Spoke to the afternoon manager Dan, but he did very little to make this right and had very little to say. I will never eat here AGAIN!!!! Update: Rhamona A. ( business Manager) requested additional feedback, like the review doesn't cover ALL that was WRONG with the food presentation. Really Rhamona? are you just buying time and trying to make it look like you really CARE? That seems like your JOB Rhamona to submit to corporate!!!!!! They provided me a link to NO WHERE!!!! Typical CUSTOMER SERVICE "RUN FOREST RUN" they are not lying

My husband and I stopped here during our visit to Universal City Walk for lunch. The restaurant is setup nice with a great view of City Walk. With high table options, booths and outside dining. It was a really nice day as we chose to sit at a high top table bordering the outside area. Our waiter was great and was extremely friendly (I forgot his name but, he had a really cool feather earring in his ear that was distinctive). The reason for the three stars is the food, which e ordered the Strawberry Salad and Calamari. The salad could have been fresher as some of the greens seemed welted and was overly doused with dressing. The calamari tasted like store bought refried to be served. Not sure if we would return back other than the seating options and the perfect lighting (not overly bright or dim).

We came here on a Monday and after googling it said they have happy hour at universal city. However, when we showed it they said they don't have happy hour at all at this location. So that was a bummer!! Our bartender was friendly though. I forgot his name, but he was great. We got a few drinks. I liked my passion fruit margarita. I got a seafood platter which had fish, shrimp, and seafood hush puppies. the fish was big and crunch on the outside/flaky and moist in the inside. He got a chicken sandwich which he enjoyed especially the bacon on top. Yummyyy!

Again, service is what makes this location good for families. Kids meal is only $10.99 and food is tasty. Servers are very helpful and manager checks in quite often. A great family ambiance!

If you've been to a Bubba Gumps you know the drill. Nothing special but its a chain so ya know....you get what to expect. The SF one was much better.

Came here after a walk around city walk for some dinner. Ordered the shrimp and crab rolls and my fiancee opened the little seafood feast. The food took quite a long time, longer then I expected even for it being busy. Highlight of the meal was for sure the French fries, such a weird thing to rave about but they were fresh and perfect. My lobster crab rolls were amazing as well! The rolls were a little hard for my liking but the filling was really good! My fiancees meal was also really good, the shrimp was definitely the best. The hush puppies were decent, but the fish and chips we were not fans of.. batter was rubbery and the fish was kind of heavy. The service was great, our waiter and other stuff were on top of everything.

Location 4 stars: On the Universal City Walk in Universal City, California. You will need to use one of their parking structures. You can enter the Universal Studios complex via Lankershim or Cahuenga Boulevards. At the time of my visit the fee was a prepaid $10 a day for standard self parking. No parking validation. The restaurant is right off of the elevators and escalators from the Jurassic parking structure. They also offer VIP? self parking and valet parking but I have not tried them. No street parking. While you are there and have already paid for parking, might as well stay around and visit the many stores on the City Walk or go see a movie at the AMC :). Venue 4 stars: This is a theme restaurant based on Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump movie. It is owned by the chain restaurant giant, Landry's. It is a touristy set-up using many cues from the movie. They take reservations which can come in handy on weekends. Most of the clientele are tourists in larger groups and with young kids, who are visiting the Universal Studios theme park or the City walk. It features indoor and outdoor seating and a full bar. Service 3 stars: The servers are well-accustomed to the tourist crowds who do not expect much in terms of service and often do not tip well either :D As a result, the service is friendly and sufficient, but not attentive. Our server would disappear for extended periods of time and we had to work hard to get her attention when we needed something. The service was also very slow and food and drinks took a long time to arrive. Food 3 stars: As everyone who has seen Forrest Gump knows, most of the food is based on shrimp and other shellfish, cooked in the Southern tradition, just like Forest Gump's BFF Bubba wanted :) Concepts, ingredients and plating are mainstream and designed to please the masses, and taste just OK. We had the Shrimp New Orleans (Good), the Crab and Shrimp Rolls (just OK... It resembles a Lobster Roll in the pics and I was expecting chunks of Shrimp and Crab in a buttery sauce, it was more like a tuna salad made with shrimp and crab; mayo and all) and the Bourbon street Mahi (just OK...the sauce tasted good but the fish was overcooked). Prices are under $30 a plate which is reasonable but the taste wasn't quite there. Drinks 3.5 stars: Full bar and soft drinks. They have a large list of specialty cocktails but mostly sugary stuff. Prices are reasonable. I had their old fashioned which was average. The Bottom Line 3 stars: An average restaurant. I would go there once in a while for the nostalgia or when I am visiting the studios or the City Walk.

The crab was amazing and we had great service. I loved the trivia and also love the theme of Forrest Gump. Our waiter, G, was very accommodating.

The space is really quite large. I was happy to see there was a seafood counter with a display case of smoked fish, a couple of dips, aged beef. The guys were super friendly behind the counter. I spotted the cafe area where they serve coffees and teas - I made a note that I had to come back to try that. Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to introduce friends to and serves as inspiration for anyone who loves to cook.

In a time where just about everything has gotten so expensive, isn't it time we change our habits to support local businesses that are doing incredible work? They're sandwiches are top-notch, their meats are divine, and they use fresh and great tasting produce. I only wish they could expand to have some real seating as this place is tiny and really a grab and go kind of spot. Kudos to your dedication and hard work in providing Burbank a dedicated meat market and high quality food. P.S. do NOT sleep on the banana pudding in the fridge.

The draw back is this place is very crowed during peak times and it a little too small considering the amount of customers that come. I've driven past Papa's Meat and Seafood on Glenoaks Blvd a dozen times, on our many trips to the area. We alway promising that we would stop in, and I'd finally stop in. Honestly, my only regret is waiting this long. I ordered the Luka Sandwich, which is loaded with their 14-hour smoked pastrami brisket, cheddar, pickled cherry peppers, iceberg, and Papa's aioli on toasted sourdough. The pastrami itself is a work of art--smoky, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and seasoned perfectly without being a total salt bomb. The pickled cherry peppers give it this incredible, bright pop of heat that cuts right through the richness of the beef. It's a messy, beautiful monster of a sandwich.  My wife went with the Surf 'n' Turf Bowl, which comes with their marinated "Crack Shrimp" and grilled angus beef over rice with a fresh shirazi salad. The beef was incredibly tender, but those crack shrimp stole the show--snappy, heavily seasoned, and completely addictive. You can clearly taste the quality of a high-end butcher shop in a casual, quick-service lunch.  The only reason I'm knocking off one star is the wait time and the seating is also pretty limited, so it's much better suited for a grab-and-go situation than a sit-down date night. That being said, the quality of the meat here blows standard sandwich joints completely out of the water. If you're in Burbank and want a lunch that actually feels high-quality and satisfying, do yourself a favor and drop in. I'm already eyeing the A5 Wagyu Cheesesteak for my next visit!

He was informative about our selections giving honest feedback and attentive to the needs of our group. I will say the food not inexpensive but what food really is these days. We ordered a plethora of dishes. Starting with the tuna neck tin. While I'm new to the tin game, I couldn't imagine what a $90 tin tasted like, now I know and I'm not sure I can eat anything less. Appetizers we started with the baked scallop special with chorizo, the caviar fries and the caviar dip. The baked scallop was delicious and the cause dip with the salt vinegar chips was fantastic. I could still dip more chips in that dish. I chose between the mussels and the fried fish sandwich. Alex recommended the fish not because it was better than the mussels. But because you just can't get a fried fish sandwich like theirs. I agree. The fry breading they have is top notch and the size of the sandwich literally has me full still 7 hours later. I substituted the fries for a lightly dressed side salad and loved it all. Besides, other folks had chips and fries to share. Other dishes were the fried and cold lobster rolls. The bagel breakfast plate and fish and chips. We even got dessert which was the pistachios tiramisu and the strawberry cake. Both good but the tiramisu was next level.
