My family will not go back! We wasted $125 & 2 hours driving there & back. 2 of us got sick 20 minutes after leaving. There was hair wrapped around 2 of my crab legs! Told 3 servers, requested manager each time. No apology or anything. They continued to serve the same crab even after telling them there was hair wrapped around it! The sushi looked & tasted like it had set out too long. We couldn't eat it. Most people were avoiding it. The lobster smelled & looked really bad. Most of the food had no flavor & was very dry. The stir fry cook added the red hot sauce to my daughter's food after being told twice not to add it! Didn't apologize or even acknowledge the mistake. Had to make another plate & wait in the long line again. The desserts were bland & cookies stale. Not sure what they were, because they were not labeled. Even the soft serve ice cream was bad. Vanilla ice cream shouldn't be grainy!! The women's bathroom was out of toilet paper & seat liners in all stalls. Trash everwhere. It smelled like vomit. We went here last night because they were able to accommodate our large party on a Saturday night. They have so much variety, from sushi to crab legs, to Chinese fare and Mongolian! For the most part, everything was delicious! My faves were the hot crab legs, the steamed mussels, the crab bake, and the chicken wings. The restaurant isn't the cleanest or organized, but if you're used to Chinese buffets, you'll be alright! The staff was friendly, and they do get packed so just be prepared for a wait! read more

This place was P A C K E D. I've eaten out a handful of times and with social distancing and mask requirements, it's been fine, but my experience here today was a nightmare. I already didn't want to go, but my family insisted on it. Anyway, I was bumping into maskless individuals pretty much at all times-- everyone was shoulder to shoulder and there was zeeeeeero regard for personal space. The lines were a free-for-all with no organization. The tables were extremely close together. Only ended up getting one plate despite the $24 entrance fee because I did not want to fight the crowd. I was nervous of the negative reviews here, but my recent experience at Buffet Star was excellent. All the staff that I interacted was very nice polite and friendly. I came here for mostly the crab legs, and I dare say, they were better then Red Lobster. I think I eat about 3-4 plates worth of crab legs. I really liked the Green beans, the Salmon was very fresh, moist and good. My coworkers who I dined with, they all liked their food too. Everything that I tried was hot, fresh and tasted good. It was fairly busy on a Thursday night, but we were able to have a table all to our selves. I would come back. read more

COVID observation - they seat groups together, and there are many big groups, so it looks less social distanced that it is. Protocol is observed properly. $20 for a week end buffet. 4 soups, fresh fish, shrimp and shell fish. For me - the key plates for a Chinese restaurant are the vegetables. I honestly been here a few times ever since it has opened. However, it has been many years since the last. It is always busy and we came here for my nephews graduation. For how busy it was and the size of our group, the service was pretty good. They came to pick up plates and refill our drinks pretty often. The food was good. Everyone be aware and make sure to check your receipts. They charge you before you take a seat so you really don't know what you're getting charged for. Keep in mind they don't give you a receipt you have to ask for it. They charged us for my daughter as a 3 year old when she isn't even 2 yet. I usually don't rate buffets; I'm surprise this place has a rating of 3 stars. I have to admit this place is pretty decent and unlike other local buffets in the area. It's worth the drive to dine here. The trays are always full and when almost emptied; being refilled. The food looks amazing and fresh. You definitely want to come with an appetite and try everything. It's very satisfying to the tastebuds. I would have rated it a 5 star but I'm leaving room for improvement...it's too crowded. There needs to be more space for the waiting area, also the aisles get crowded and it can be quite a balance act with a full plate of food. I was taken by surprise. Most of my experiences with buffet places have been less than stellar while I found this place above mediocre. All of the food I had tasted pretty fresh. The bbq pork ribs tasted like fresh bbq pork ribs and the sushi Did not have that stater brothers staleness and was quite enjoyable. Everything here tastes like it should which is rare at a smorgasbord type dining facility. The price was almost $30 per person and worth it if you take advantage of some of their more upscale ingredient like the Mongolian bbq short ribs or crab legs. The name says it all, Buffet Star. Exactly only one star deserved. I would of given them 2 shiny Penney's for the inconvenience and death experience. Not worth it, too anybody, or anyone. I tried to go out on a nice dinner date, anything but that happened. The seafood was dry bc it was frozen, and had all the nutrients sucked out of them. I could also say that the seafood wad not properly trimmed or cut. I had peices of skin, fat, and who knows what else hanging off the side of the tuna and salmon. The crab legs had no meat or flavor from being boiled to oblivion and being brought back and served on a platter. the Mongolian bbq we gave a shot bc we had given up on the seafood at that point. We both picked our ingredients, the Chef cooked them up, and we returned to our table. We both couldn't get passed two bites each before a foul taste came into our mouths. completely unacceptable. I sampled the Chinese part of the buffet next , while she tried the fruit. The Kung Pow chicken had the same god awful metal taste. Idk if it was a cleaning product, or the metal pan, or what, but it became apparent it was everywhere. The fruit She exclaimed was dry and discolored. Thus this was a bad idea going and being a patron here. I couldn't even say this was bad sushi, or a bad restaurant because that would be giving them too much credit. I have no regret calling this place a true Shit- Hole. I believe this is why Americans hate sushi and have a bad sushi experience. Their is no comparison to actual sashimi or its close cousin, sushi. Some days it hits and some days it's a miss but the food is never bad per se. I love to get take-out. Usually nigiri is $6-12 for 2 pieces but, here, you can get like 12 pieces for the same price! We came upon the recommendation from friends and lets just say we are not dissapointed. This buffet has a little bit of everything. From hot items to grill and sushi, the sushi was amazing. The hot items were as well, I tried the tempra veggies nice and crispy. I tried most of the sushi it was also very nice. The price for weekday lunch was 16.99 not bad at all for what you get.
