Icon restaurant serving classic American and Mexican dishes. Diner style setup with vintage decor throughout. Fast friendly staff. Juicy and spicy table sauce. Had to gave their chile verde and it was amazing! Super tasty and authentic. Wife had chorizo con huevo. She cleaned her plate. Not greasy and good portions. My kids shared a waffle and a breakfast sandwich. No complaints. Thru loved the Oreo cookie shake. A must try. Only downside is their cash only policy. Other than that it's an absolute gem.

The service was good. Food was good. So many memories displayed. I have lived in Monterey Park all my life and this is my first time here. Support local businesses.

Just one of your OG greasy diners with options from back in the day. We had a tuna melt and it was delicious. It was on crispy sourdough and done right with a pickle on the side and choice of fries , fruit or salad which is just lettuce mostly. This diner has been in the neighborhood for quite some time now. It's decorated with vintage items and the servers are very nice. They serve some Mexican food as well.

Great service! I love nopales and eggs. DELICIOUS breakfast! Parking on street or in the back.

Not the best pic, I know. But this is the tasty broccoli, cheese, and ham (I substituted ham for bacon) omelette.

Let's get started... if you love a classic diner, then Bun N Burger is going to be perfect for you. The food is tasty (the salsa is killer), the service is friendly, and the ambiance is old school diner vibes. They also have the best prices you'll find most anywhere in All of SoCal--ribeye steak and eggs only $10.99?? You cannot beat that. My omelet was $9.99. They have a parking lot, and it's cash only. Check this place out, and I think you'll be glad you did.

The chorizo and eggs are good, and the service is great. When I'm here I really feel taken care of. I just have to remember to bring cash...

Bun n Burger's one of my favorite breakfast places. It's cozy with lots of tables. Food is good and the price is right.

This spot has an antique shop vibe, and it's actually interesting to browse around the restaurant. We'd read some reviews about unfriendly service, but we didn't have that issue with our server. In fact, we thought the staff were pretty friendly overall

Good wholesome food! Come in and relax to a great meal. My favorite is the Spanish Omelet! I also enjoy the Huevos Ranchero. Many traditional dishes also available. Come in and ask for Alicia and tell them Motor 81 sent you! 50's diner atmosphere with counter and table service!

Chile Verde Pork, rice & beans Corn or flour tortillas come with.

Came back for Chile Verde, very good. Rice and beans good too. Server gave us the bait n switch. My sister ordered burger special posted in the window, says "No refills on soda" so we knew that already. I asked if refills on regular soda, she said yes, just not on special. When I asked for soda refill, she grabbed check, said has to add another $2.95. I reminded her she said refills on regular soda, just not on special, my sister said she heard same thing. Old lady server says, no refills on any sodas. Cancel that refill then, crazy old lady.

Since this place is right next to Yum Long Chinese restaurant, it was the perfect little dessert stop after lunch. Hubby and I shared the crème brûlée pancake and an espresso smoothie, and both were delicious! The pancake was incredibly fluffy and airy, with that light, sponge-like texture you want from a good Japanese soufflé pancake. I also really liked that the sauces weren't overwhelmingly sweet, so the dessert didn't feel heavy or sugary. The espresso smoothie was another pleasant surprise--creamy, flavorful, and with a nice coffee kick that paired perfectly with the pancake. Overall, a really satisfying way to finish the night. I arrived in Alhambra one Sunday afternoon with the intention to hit 4 food spots to redeem free offers. They are part of the 24 participating restaurants in the food passport. I only got to two places and Popping Yolk Cafe (PYC) was one of them. PYC was number 6th stamp in my food passport! Free parking was easy at the Mosaic Parking Structure (4 hours limit). Very short walk from parking to restaurant. First time at PYC. I was lucky to get here thirty minutes prior to closing time. They specialize in breakfast and brunch only. Their free passport offer is 1 Benedict Entree or 1 French Toast Entree. Dine in only and no substitutions. Thanks PYC! Interior space was quite nice and vibey. Tables were clean. Ambiance was relaxing and cozy. Love the beautiful yellow decor! Plenty of inside seating with no exterior seating. Mia was the young lady staff who welcomed me with a friendly greeting and took my order. She was super nice, patient, and helpful. Other staff members were cordial and attentive. Thanks Mia and All! WOW, what a super amazing free food offer! I didn't hesitate and got the Avocado Benedict. Both eggs were perfectly poached. Avocado was just ripe. Ham slices were thick and tasty. Hollandaise sauce was rich and buttery with a bit of tangy taste. Just one small gripe, the english muffin did not appear to have been toasted. It was tough to cut through. Other than that, it was a fantastic benedict entree for a first timer like myself. I was feeling hungry so I also got an order of Ube French Toast and one Mango Green Tea (refillable). Another WOW, delicious house ube filling in a deep-fried toast topped with semi-sweet coconut flakes and fresh blueberries along with a drizzle of maple syrup and condensed milk. VERY YUMMY! This one is a winner! Mango green tea had deep tropical and tea flavors... nice drink! Menu has a great variety of egg benedicts and crunchy french toasts along with sandwiches, omelettes, burgers, crepes, waffles, pancakes, salad, and snacks. Prices were reasonable for the huge portions. Highly recommend! Love to return to try their other specialty breakfast and brunch items. I just need to get here early. Btw, besides Alhambra, they have two other locations... Pasadena and Hacienda Heights.

It's not a full wait service restaurant, you order at the counter, they give you a number, and bring the food to you. The menu is also fairly small so there are not as many options as you would get in a diner or similar. Inside is medium sized and can host small and medium size groups, and they seem to turn the tables quite quickly. All the items that we ordered came out pretty fast. The one issue that we had was we both ordered breakfast dishes with no modifications and one of ours came out first and the other came out over 10 minutes later, so basically we ate our breakfast while looking at the other without eating. I wish they would have timed it up a bit better. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but street parking was easy to find. We did not have a server however the staff that we did encounter were very polite. Just the issue we had was the mistiming of our breakfast dishes coming out. We ordered the Eggs and Bacon Standard Breakfast and the California Eggs Benedict. I will say that the Eggs Benedict eggs were done perfectly however, I wish there would be a little bit more variety in the protein choice, and the bread choice. My bread was also a bit soggy, but the eggs were very nice. Overall, a good option, however, not as great as some of the Pasadena options a bit further north. I would certainly suggest though if you are in the area.

I liked the pics on Yelp and so finally got to try it for brunch this week, and boy is this place GOOD! Parking can be a drag even on a weekday mid-morning despite there being a good amount of parking spots on the entire block. That was a hassle. Once I found something, I went into the place, which is a small breakfast joint - not divey or anything, but also not particularly decorated. Didn't really matter though. The star for me were the pancakes. I got the blueberry pancakes, a side of bacon, a side of their breakfast potatoes, and a glass of fresh lemonade. The lemonade was good and clearly made fresh in-house, I think. The bacon was good, but bacon is always good. The potatoes were nicely seasoned, which was good because lately I've tried way too many breakfast places with bland, sad potatoes. Not here. The pancakes were amazing. They are super fresh and fluffy and served with an amazing cookie butter syrup. It may sound sweet, but it's not overly so. I honestly think these are some of the best pancakes I've had in many years in all of Los Angeles. They were honestly that good. And, I don't usually rave about pancakes very often. Service was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The place was doing a good amount of business considering I went when most people should be in school or work and too early for lunch.
