Their garlic bread is amazing, I loved their salad bar and their pizza but the only hang up is a big one too "sausage" I don't know what those pebbles are but I don't care for them. It doesn't taste like normal Italian sausage and I hate saying this because I've been going to them since I was little , meaning my age people!!!! The first time I went here with my 5 year old son, it was amazing. The gentleman on register was polite and attentive. The dinning area was clean and quiet. And, of course the cheese pizza was AMAZING! So naturally , I thought we can be regulars here. However, the second time around, there was a younger woman on register who appeared to be stretched thin. She was answering phone, working the register, serving a "regular" or someone she knew. And, trying to have her own lunch. We were loving our pizza just like the first time. But then, I found a dead earwig inside the parmesan cheese shaker. Mind you, we had already been eating our pizza with contaminated parmesan cheese sprinkled from this shaker. When I brought it to the girl, she said oh took it from me & that was that. No "Im sorry", no "how can we make it better?" Just took the shaker and went on with helping other customers. This is an old school Italian restaurant, 50 yrs. We ordered the raviolis. The portions are huge. We could have shared and still had leftovers. The raviolis came with these ginormous rolls which were delicious. We had a bottle wine which was ok. A little on the warm side. The service was rest good. You order at the counter and seat yourself. First I would like to say this is not a review of their food but their service. Came here with my high school team after we watched a game at Cabrillo High School. There were a few parents coaches and a bunch of players. We entered and there were 4 other people eating. After speaking with the girl at the cash register she brought someone else out of the back. He asked if we had reservations??? He then stated they couldn't service us because they did not have enough staff. I asked what if 18 individuals came in separately would you refuse service to which he responded "We could take you but would have to charge an 18% automatic fee". So I pre ordered a family meal and had a pick up time a few hours after I ordered it. When I arrived at the time scheduled the meal to be picked up, the food wasn't ready. While waiting in the lobby, the 2 females working were ranting and complaining about how annoyed they were with the people ordering food. I came here for lunch and had a lunch combo. Pizza slice, large salad, and a fountain drink with refills. The large pizza slice comes with 2 toppings. I chose ground beef and mushrooms. Loads of toppings. I took a bite. It wasn't hot. Lots of salt. Couldn't really find the sauce. Too bad, it looked so good. The side salad was huge. I ate some of it before I took the photo. All kinds of vegetables: lettuce, tomatoes , broccoli , cauliflower, carrots , pepperochinis ( can't spell that one). Nice dressing. Friendly and helpful staff. Not crowded, most tables were available. Background music was songs sung in Italian. Interesting photos on the wall of Italian celebrities, some from the 50's and 60's. I can only speak to the food because our principal ordered it for teacher appreciation week. She picked it up at 11am. My lunch was 90 min later and it was still fresh and yummy. I had the bowtie chicken Alfredo with broccoli. I couldn't believe how most and tender the chicken was. My favorite was this pasta with sun dried tomatoes. I could eat that all day every day. I've actually never ordered anything off their menu before. But I come here ALL the time for their pizza buffet. Most of the time pizza buffets are honestly pretty terrible and low quality. But this place doesn't skimp on things. They always have their amazing pizza, 4 different pastas, rolls and a full salad bar. It's only during the week from 11 am -2 pm I believe. Been coming here for a few years and the place always has consistency on great pizza's. Sevice - Service is great here as staff is friendly and on it with service and orders. Prices - A bit on the high side but you get quality. Pizza - Great options available on menu, or make your own. Either way the pizza will be delicious with a fresh taste. Yes, there were a good number of orders coming and going for pizza. We should have done the same but decided to order two sit down meals...One lasagna and one lemon chicken piccata w/ mushroom. The lasagna was actually very good and served up hot. However the lemon chicken piccata is advertised as being a "tender chicken breast" in sauce that was anything but that. Sadly, the chicken was something from the back of the freezer, tough and chewy with minimum flavor...Could not eat it after two tries. Honestly I don't want to like this place. Half the time the people at the front dont seem to know what they are doing... but the pizza keeps bringing me back. It's not thin crust... it's not new york style... but it's that hometown flavor with thick cheese and medium crust. Great quality ingredients on the toppings but plain cheese or pepperoni is best for me.. the ground sausage isn't bad either but a little too much fennel in the mix - at least for me. for quality and consistency and basic just getting the job done... it's a 5 for me. just don't be surprised when the cashier doesn't know where the red pepper flakes or parmesan cheese are... or paper plates... trust that the pizza will still be good. read more

Well, I was back in the area after a while so I decided to stop and give an old favorite a try. I have to share that I am a million times Hapie that I did. We had a large pepperoni pizza and the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. The pizza was delicious and I don't know if it is because it's been a while, but it was excellent! Better than I remembered! It wasn't over sauced, just the right amount. The cheese was good and fresh and the pepperoni was delicious as sometimes it can be too spicy or salty. As for the dough, MAN!!!!!! How do you do it BUONO'S?!!! Sooo soft and fluffy with the perfect amount of crunchiness. I love fluffy, soft with that outside Toasties . As for the Alfredo, my wife and daughters are so picky. But it's ALL GONE!!!! They have a great recipe, I tried it and it was delicious. I've tried others and they are sometimes greasy. This one here is gosh darn legit. That's the food, which was BOMB DOT COM!!!!!! They have also upgraded their beer selection since I was here last a few years ago. I opted for the Lagunitas but they currently have Mango Cart, Modelo, Wolf Pup, a Blonde Ale and the Old time favorite- Sam Adams!
