Wanted to show a friend from out of state burgerville since he'd never tried it before so I took him here. Our shakes and fries were good, but our burgers were terrible! He joked about why burgers from a placed named "BURGER"ville were so damn bad, then we made the joke "more like burger VILE" because legit, these burgers were cold, sloppy, thrown together carelessly and dripping with far too much condiments. I didn't finish mine and normally I love burgerville. Wtf is going on lately? Last few times I've been here the burger quality has gradually declined but this last time was just god awful. Also that's the impression he's gonna have of the entire burgerville chain for the rest of his life and probably tell his other Texan friends not to try it if they're ever in town. Wow $10.75 for a basket of fish-and-chips that claim they were halibut but tasted more like tilapia. Had to go to the post office to mail Christmas gifts and the Tigard Burgerville was on the way home. It's a small regional chain and the Tillamook cheeseburger & small fries hit the spot. even though my fries were cold. You place your order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to your table. All the employees were friendly and the restaurant was clean. All veggies are locally grown - I'll be back to try the tempura asparagus in the spring - the meat is antibiotic-free and bacon is nitrate-free, and they advertise hand-crafted milkshakes and frozen yogurt as well. The menu is quite varied: Alaskan halibut fish & chips, chicken strips, salads, desserts, basically something for everyone. Prices are pretty standard too. read more

This was my first tasting at a Burgerville. I've been reading/hearing about this little NW institution since moving here in '12 -- Definately worth the stop. Being late spring, the fried asparagus spears were on the menu -- and wow! I could have eaten 3 servings and just skipped the burger. I LOVE with a capital-L fresh asparagus. And what a novel change of pace from fried potatoes or onios! The "crust" was tissue thin -- and the asparagus was still steaming as I bit into it! My burger was good. Excellent beef. Tillamook cheese. Pepper bacon. tangy slice of tomato -- crunchy lettuce. All the ingredients were there -- But -- A tad on the cool side, but not so much as to call it cold. Just not the piping-hot burger I'd have preferred. I ate in the restaurant -- and just the trip from the kitchen to my table was enough to take the hot edge off my sandwich. I also tried one of their milkshakes. I've been hearing great things about these shakes -- and yes. It's true. Great shakes. My strawberry shake had real, recognizable strawberries. Came here tonight with my girl. I have a sad association with this particular Burgerville, though last time at least the service was better. I think the locations on the Eastside possibly have nicer staff, whereas the staff in Tigard is comprised of disenchanted teenagers. I try to be understanding, but it took forever for our food to come as they served aforementioned staff on their breaks first. I generally don't give businesses less than three stars but this Burgerville is deserving of one star. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a kids cheeseburger meal with a shake which the menu said it's an extra $2 to add a shake. I also ordered a large tillamook basket with a shake as well. When I got to the window they said my total was $20.37 (see receipt). I had a feeling this was more expensive than usual so I asked for a copy of the receipt which they provided. After reviewing the receipt I advised them of the discrepancy as they charged me $4 for my kids shake instead of the extra $2 as advertised on the menu. I also paid almost $13 for my basket which I thought was more expensive than usual. When I brought this to their attention, their response was "you have to take that up with marketing" and was totally dismissive. So in order to avoid any confrontation I paid for the food and left. Now the food is what made the experience even worse. The food was lukewarm at best and just wasn't good. I've never had this experience before at Burgerville and always looked at them as a top tier fast food chain but after this experience they're no better than any of the other fast food chains. read more

Went to this burgerville location before they were closed. One day we tried to order online and saw there was no fries option. Figuring it might've been a glitch on the app, when I went to pick up the order I asked about the fries. The lady i'm fairly sure is the manager (a large woman with dark hair) snapped at me saying it was because they were out of fries. No apology or anything, just very rude. If she speaks to customers like that over simple questions I can only imagine how rude she is to the rest of the staff. This burgerville is disorganized and that lady has also been rude to my father in the past as well. Good food fast. Specializes in grass-fed beef in their burgers. Also serves seafood and salads. on shakes. Think of it as a McDonald's/Burger King/etc. fast-food restaurant but with Red Robin speciality burgers with locally grown beef without antibiotics or other artificial junk. Be warned! This is an experimental location for Burgerville. Hence the name "Tigard's Burgerville" rather than just "Burgerville". The menu options are not the same, nor is the pricing (for example, everything is a la carte and prices seem higher than other locations). I've been twice and don't plan on returning. I was shocked to find myelf paying well over $5 for a basic burger (no toppings), a small fries, and an unsweetened ice tea. When I asked if the prices had gone up, the clerk told me they were offering their customers freedom from the rigid constraints of combo meals. I suggested they return combo meals to the menu as their customers were quite happy having a combo meal option. In addition, I experienced very poor food prep on my first visit to grab a breakfast sandwich. The meat was warm, but placed on a very cold and untoasted bun. They also added cheese without asking me, even though every other Burgerville only adds cheese if you specifically request it. For someone like me who has to avoid or minimize dairy, this isn't a minor issue. All in all the food's been pretty mediocre at best. Don't bother, or at least drive to the next Burgerville. read more

So uh... i guess there really is a lot of variability between Burgerville locations. This one has the same great fries and shakes and, for a few months each year, onion rings as any other Burgerville. I highly recommend dodging the traffic on 99 to bip through here for a fat-and-sugar booster. (It's an easy in-out from southbound 99, but the left turn into the driveway from northbound 99 is dangerous, and turning left back onto 99 north appears to be frowned upon.) But i made the mistake of ordering a black bean burger here, and it was disgusting. The bun was... like wonderbread, i think, though it's been the better part of two decades since i've eaten wonderbread. The sauce was ok, but the patty was a lumpy thing with half-cooked black beans lodged in it. Uck. Barely edible. So i'll still be shelling out dollars for rosemary fries and cherry chocolate shakes, but if i ever get a hankering for an actual burger, i'll visit a different location. read more

First visit was back in like August 2016 and its "busy" I am told is why the order was incorrect and they were very sorry and sent me $20.... Thanks. Second visit.... January 13th 2017 (so you know the weather conditions in Tigard). I finally use the gift card that is sent to me.... My lemonade took 10 minutes... I was standing in front of the counter and I saw my order on their screen, it was the first one but the workers decided to do the harder to make drinks that were ordered after mines. I had to ask one of the workers to make my drink because she was just standing around looking at the screen and wasn't even doing anything. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the smaller portion sizes. The prices are the same (or maybe more), but definitely smaller sized burgers. I ordered a Tillamook Burger and my husband a Pepper-Bacon burger. While they tasted ok, I was quite surprised at the size of this $5-6 burger. The patty size was not the same as their other locations - Lake Oswego and Newberg. I am quite perplexed. We also got milkshakes and they were more like flavored milk than a milkshake. They tasted fine, but again, not what you would expect from Burgerville. Writing this review is very sad for me. And this review is actually for ALL Burgervilles, not just this one, though this one does seem to be one of the worst. I am 27 years old and was born and raised in Portland. It was a staple place growing up and anytime I met someone from California bragging about In N Out, I would always tell them that Burgerville was way better! Not anymore. I kept trying to give Burgerville chance after chance to redeem themselves. Each time was worse. The Lake Oswego location, Beaverton location, this Tigard location... they are ALL bad. Burned patties, TINY portions, high prices. Burgerville used to have really good chicken strips, too. Now they are literally the exact same ones I could buy in the frozen section of a supermarket. Overcooked and too dry to eat. Gross! Burgerville! Wake up! You were so great in years past. What happened??? For now I will stick to places like 5 Guys, Fudruckers, or even Red Robin that serve WAYYYY better burgers and for better prices than Burgerville. read more

She was honestly so friendly and sweet and when a mistake was done on my order she was super attentive and quick to fix it no questions asked. Cleaner than most Burgerville's and definitely an Oregonian vibe! Employees and management are friendly. They used to serve skinny fries and because people were used to the fatter fries they changed them to the normal fries. You can request the skinny fries if you want. Sometimes, I like a burger and I don't mind if it's a little trashy. BUT, avoid this Burgerville at all costs. On November 19, I ordered a pepper-bacon cheeseburger through their drive-through. The $5 "burger" was delivered without a beef patty. Yup - just a 50-cent bun, swampy looking lettuce, "cheese", and some sauce that looked like it was sneezed out of a tube. I called Robin, the store manager; she apologized and put me on a list for a free one when I come back. I understand these things happen, although it does speak to staff that is goofing around. Fast-forward to today: I pick-up my free pepper-bacon cheeseburger and order two large fries for my wife and myself. Frustratingly, there's only one large fry in the bag. Speechless. This is TERRIFICALLY BAD SERVICE. There's really no excuse and management (from many levels) needs to step in. This is either some mysterious vendetta against me personally, or it's a perpetual episode of looney-tunes in the kitchen there. This Burgerville holds a unique honor of being one of the most expensive fast-food restaurants in the area and also the worst in quality and service. It's strange that the chain survives. I've chatted with management about it in the past but it hasn't changed. Ordered a bean burger thinking it would be the spicy version but turned out to be the regular one with slobs of mayo on both ends and soggy cheddar cheese. YIKES. Usually they assume it's the spicy version or at least double check when you order it. Also appeared that the burger was pulled out of the deep frier too soon as it was not one bit crispy. If you're like me, you read the previous reviews and thought, "Gee! Why so harsh yelpers?" But then I actually went into this location, and as it turns out, the Yelpers were right. There is something distinctly different about this Burgerville. We have had a number of instances now where we have been rung up wrong, or they forgot to swipe our gift card and in general, it's pretty darn expensive. Now I know the high cost is kind of just a Burgerville thing, but the prices here seem high even for a Burgerville. The food is usually pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. The staff seems particularly uninspired which is a shame because its a beautiful little burger joint. After several trips, I much prefer the Lake Oswego location. read more

I really like the rustic and comfortable atmosphere in this Burgerville. The breakfast burrito can be good (I've had mixed results), and the people are super friendly. There's a bit more service (they come clean your table for you, and ask after you've been served how things are, if you need anything else, etc.) Skip the turkey burger here. Tastes okay but for $4.99 not much substance. The store in Newberg seems more generous on portions. I asked the manager on duty about the burger and why it seemed so "light" and he started talking about the cost of the turkey patty, antibiotic and hormone-free, etc. But you can dress up a thinner patty and improve the perceived value with crisp lettuce, a decent slice of tomato, a nice slice of onion, etc. Update Apr. 2014: Stopped in around 9:30 p.m. for a quick bite. Got the halibut sandwich. All I can say is, "Where's the fish"? The filet was 1/4" thick including the breading. Really disappointing for $4.99. Taste was mostly fried breading. This is one of the nicest and friendliest Burgerville's I've seen, but the portions and perceived value are underwhelming. Too bad because it's in a great location on Hwy 99 right off I-5. read more
