Our first time here and it DELICIOUS! Hubby chose a restaurant and it did not disappoint. Came on a Friday when they opened, asked the person who sat us what she recommended as well as our waitress. We had: Green beans Eggplant with shrimp Burma Shrimp Sesame Beef Pineapple fried rice Burma Iced Tea Finished with sticky rice, mango and condensed milk, wasn't on the menu. This spot has fantastic halal Burmese food!!! The restaurant itself is very airy and open with lots of seating. There's a small metered lot adjacent to it for parking. The servers were friendly and on the menu it says they serve halal chicken, beef and lamb. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees and this was the perfect amount for the two of us. 1. Tea Leaf Salad: excellent! Very refreshing and fresh ingredients. Like other restaurants they mix it in front of us. It could have used a little bit more spice but I otherwise loved it! 2. Mango chicken: the BEST! With real chunks of sweet mango, onion and chicken pieces it stole the show. Even the rice it comes with was perfectly soft and tasty. I'm not a huge fan of Burmese food, but my overall experience here was quite enjoyable! My friends and I met here after not seeing each other for over a year. We had reservations for Saturday at noon, and we chose to sit outdoors. Thankfully, they had heating lamps for each table to enjoy the fresh air. I ordered the there mango chicken and a side of coconut rice. I thought the portions were quite large. $17 is a bit pricey for a single dish, but I was able to split it into two different meals. Although the dish sounds sweet of mango, the spice from the jalapeño will certainly keep you on your toes! Their tap water is cucumber flavored, which adds a bit of elegance to the meal. The staff were attentive and they made sure our waters were filled. Overall, good food, good company. If this place is the same as Burma Burma in Dublin, hands down, service here is better. read more

One was a fermented tea leaf salad with shredded cabbage that sounded awful but was impressive and memorable. Went here for our first time on a Wednesday night. Reservation wasn't totally necessary but the restaurant did fill up throughout our meal. What a fantastic find and we will absolutely be going back. Samosas - Perfectly crispy flaky outside and delicious all around. 5 stars Palata w/ coconut chicken curry - One of my favorite dishes we tried. All the flavors were perfectly balanced and is a must order. 5 stars Burmese garlic noodle w/ roast duck - My girlfriends favorite dish of everything we tried. Noodles themselves are perfect and everything complements each other really well. 5 stars Pineapple fried rice - Good, but not a must order every time. Would rather try the shrimp fried rice next time. 4 stars Walnut shrimp - Crunchy. Tasty. Delicious. Top tier version of honey walnut prawns. 5 stars. Sesame beef - Unfortunately it came to our table a little cold but honestly I didn't care. It was delicious. When I saw there was a Burmese restaurant near Berkeley, I knew I had to give it a try. Up till this point, I've had pretty much most of the main Asian cuisines (Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc.) so I wanted to venture a little beyond my comfort zone. Got here at peak lunch time but didn't have to wait for a table. With their indoor and outdoor options, anyone who has Covid concerns can choose where they want to sit, which is always a plus. After looking over the menu, my group decided to get dishes that would allow us to try a large range of Burmese cuisine. We ordered the Garlic Noodles with Roasted Duck, Basil and Chili Lamb, as well as Burmese Style Curry w/ Pork. Garlic Noodles w/ Roasted Duck: I'm not 100% sure but I believe these are egg noodles? Anyways, they tasted freshly made and the garlic didn't overpower the dish. Ooooh, the spicy sauce it came with was fantastic! The duck meat was quite tender and juicy with flavor. Great dish overall :) Basil and Chili Lamb: I loved the spices and the lamb was cooked quite well. It was not gamy at all and thought the portion size was very generous. Burmese Style Curry w/ Pork: The curry was quite different from any other curry I've ever had. It's not as creamy as Thai curry and not as flavorful as Indian. Honestly, this might be my new favorite curry dish Burmese Iced Tea: Not as sweet as Thai tea. Similar to Hong Kong style milk tea. Must get Burma 2 is awesome and a fantastic restaurant overall. Fraud Alert !!! we enjoyed our food but the server that we had on Monday closing time ( her mom also works at burma superstar) never gave us our credit card back . we realized it the next day , called the restaurant a few times but never got a response . A few days later we had over 3000$ in credit card charges from best buy , target from Sf and pleasant hill . Enjoy the food there just make sure you credit card comes back to you . I loved Burma Burma, and this appears to be their second location. So I went in knowing I'd probably love it too. These days I'm a pretty rough customer to serve. I often show up with three kids under 5, which makes it very tough on our servers. That being said, they surprised me with their service. They have special cups with lids just for kids, and nonbreakable silverware and plates they served them. Service was always fast and attentive and our waters were never empty. Prices are comparable to other Burmese food restaurants , but I feel like the food is on another level here. We had the minted chicken, chili beef, tea leaf salad , garlic noodles and more. Everything was delicious. Overall the experience was pretty flawless, and it was hard for me to find anything for them to approve on. If they can keep my kids happy and fed, they've done more than most other restaurants. read more

What an amazing find, finally a Burmese place with reasonable prices. Has fab spacious exterior, with lots of socially distant tables. Lovely live music. Oh Burmese food.. We've gone here twice already and we are completely hooked. This place is just another reason why Walnut Creek is an amazing place to eat at. Burma 2 adds even more diversity to an already diverse restaurant scene downtown. If you have never tried Burmese food, think of a cross between Chinese and Indian. There's many dishes that are sweet and flavorful like in Chinese cuisine. But then you have a lot of curry inspired dishes that are found in Indian cuisine. So so disappointed in Tea Leaf salad! I love authentic Tea Leaf Salad - one of my favorite of all Burmese dishes. The one we got today was mostly made of green iceberg lettuce. Absolutely not what I expected. It was our first time at Burma 2 in Walnut Creek. We also had garlic noodles and sesame beef. Both were average, nothing outstanding. My friends and I love Burma2! They are located on North Main Street. Parking can be a bit tough, but, if you're patient, you can usually find parking after a short while. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating (when it isn't cold and rainy!). The food is pretty good. So far, we've tried: samosas, palata (vegetarian, lamb curry), lettuce wraps, tea leaf salad, mango chicken, dry curry beef, basil and dried chili lamb, burma string beans, sticky rice, fried banana, dessert palata, and coconut pudding. We arrive at exactly 5p and was the first patrons of the evening. We started off with appetizers. The samosas and fried tofu were fried to perfection. . We later ordered our main entrees. I ordered the tea salad which was big enough to share and the minted jalapeño chicken with a side of coconut rice. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I saw my plate was clean. It was sooo good. This place has the best Burmese food in the Bay Area, with the best customer service to beat! My Burmese food craving was satisfied! I came here for a dinner on a weekday and was seated right away. I requested to sit indoors because of the heat, but there are plenty of seats outside. The waitress was super nice and gave us recommendations on what we should eat. What we got: -Burmese Garlic Noodle: This was delicious! The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was tangy and not too sweet. The noodles come with hot sauce, which adds a lot of umami to the dish. The hot sauce is pretty hot so use sparingly! -Palata with Chicken Curry: This is probably the best dish here. The Palata is always fresh, crispy, and piping hot. The Curry is strong in flavor and pairs well with the warm Palata. -Tea Leaf Salad: This is a Burmese classic and they do it well here. At first, I felt like there wasn't enough sauce and lemon. I asked for more sauce and lemon from the waitress and she was happy to serve it to us. After saucing it up, the salad was perfect! -Burmese Iced Tea: This tea is slightly sweet and you can taste the tea in it! I love it. Overall great experience! It is a great joy i discovered Burma 2, an outpost from their original restaurant, Burma Burma in Dublin. I used to wait in long lines for Burma Superstar but now I can just go downtown to Walnut Creek to enjoy the same quality of Burmese food! I don't know what "authentic" Burmese food really tastes like but from the menu here, I can see Burmese food shares some similarity to Chinese and Indian and everything in between. I really like the tea leaf salad here. It is a big bowl and can be shared among quite a few. The garlic noodles dish is delicious and we ordered it with duck. The duck was in shredded pieces and i did wish it came in larger pieces. The Black Pepper beef was very good and we couldnt finish it at the end and had to take it to go. Came here on a Friday night without a reservation, extremely busy!! But managed to get seated outside right away. Tea leaf salad was really yummy! The other dishes were also good. I'd go back again. It was nice to sit outside. Customer service was terrible, we waited for our food a really long time, at least 45 mins. Then waited even longer just to bring out my jasmine rice. It's ok, gave them a pass, since it was a really busy night. Two of the outdoor heater stand ran out of gas, also took them awhile to replace them. Where do I start? After trying Burma 2 and their other place in Dublin, Burma Burma, I'm convinced that Burmese food is my new favorite type of food. It's like a cross between indian and thai food -- super good. Service (5/5) Waters were always full, banter was above average, and everyone we interacted with looked like they genuinely enjoyed their job. Zero complaints here. Location (5/5) Conveniently located near some parking garages and a main downtown area. Food (5/5) Started off with a lychee martini, it was on the strong side but was full of lychee flavor. For appetizers, I opted for the tea leaf salad which was very crunchy and delicious. The waitress even mixed the salad at the table whilst explaining what's in it. Another appetizer is the palata with chicken curry -- it's almost like roti but a little thicker. Order two of these if you have over 2 people, I promise it'll be gone fast. The curry is flavorful and by spooning it onto the palata you'll get an explosion of flavors. For the entrees we got the garlic noodles, nothing special IMO when compared to the sesame beef. Wow, the sesame beef. Everyone MUST try this entree as they cook it in a way where the outside is crispy and melts in your mouth. There's so much sweet and zingy flavor packed into each piece of meat you'll never want to stop eating it until it's gone. It's my sister and I's favorite thing here and I'm addicted to it! Two times experiencing at this restaurant. I'm a vegan and the amount of vegan friends options and dishes make this an easy restaurant to eat at. Tea Leaf Salad and the Hibiscus Mojitos are the absolutely go to staples for me. While the first time I went was 5 stars with absolute beautiful service, food, drinks, ambiance, everything. Second time I went was a 3 star experience. While the food, bus boys, everything else was terrific. But my service was god awful. Our waiter was the bartender, we had to flag him down or get a bus boy to get him whenever we needed anything, including boxes and checks. He was all over the place, didn't seem like he was "there". Just feel as if this gentleman wasn't in the establishment that both of my experiences wouldve been 5 stars. Everyone we've brought to Burma 2 vegan or non-vegan has absolutely loved it. Another fabulous meal at Burma 2! We went with another couple who had also enjoyed dinners here previously, and all of us were happy and full when we left. We started with Tea Leaf Salad and Palata with Coconut Curry Chicken. Our main dishes were Black Pepper Beef (my husband's favorite), Walnut Shrimp (my NEW favorite), Lamb Curry, and the always delicious coconut rice. We asked for medium heat, and that spice level was perfect for us. The servings are generous, and we will redo some of the meal tonight. The service is always impeccable! Water glasses are constantly filled, food arrives quickly, and the wait staff is friendly. We arrived at 6:00 pm, before the busy crowd began arriving. We were seated immediately and found the ambience lovely. We also were very pleased not to be rushed with a check before we were ready to leave. Our waitress/greeter seemed uninterested, offering no greeting and barely acknowledging our presence throughout us picking our order. She appeared to look up and down at us and her nose up in the air. The food was prepared as requested for 3 out of 4 orders (for one of the order they did not add the extra spicy as I specified in my order) but the rest was incredibly bland and under-seasoned and the main dish lacked any significant flavor. Furthermore, they did not include the utensils as I also requested. I was hoping for a much more enjoyable experience, but left feeling dissatisfied and unwelcome". We had a large party and needed outdoor reservations, the manager, Mr Rodell took care of us and helped us with it. The outdoor seating is beautiful, spacious and also has live music. I love egg noodles and these were the perfect texture and I like the light hint of flavor. Very different from the typical garlic noodles that you get at other Asian places.
