2nd time visiting. I had the Surf 'n Turf Burrito (super) which was excellent. The shrimp was juicy and sweet, perfectly cooked. The carne asada was flavorful and tender. Good Mexican food option in the West Portal area Stopped by this small taqueria in West Portal in San Francisco to grab dinner before heading home. During the pandemic season takeout or delivery are the only options while they are open. We ordered a regular steak burrito and shared it. We requested it to be split in two portions and they they even wrapped them individually so we were able to eat them with making a mess in the car. It was a good size portion! They also gave us complimentary chips and salsa. If you wanted to supersize that sucker they will include Guac and sour cream in your burrito. The two men (one cook) worked fast and got us in and out quickly. Friendly too! Always greeting customers with a big welcome. Took about 8-10 mins wait for our 3 burritos as it's a small shop, take out only. So conveniently next to the West Portal Muni tunnel that you can pick up a burrito and hop on a train and head in bound. We tried: carne asada, carnitas and shrimp. My burrito had nice, fresh shrimp ($1 extra for shrimp and meats but not chicken or pork) with still a crunchy texture to it, about 6-7 medium shrimps in the burrito. They ask you what kind of beans you'd like whereas most places will slap on the pinto beans without asking. The rice was over cooked and too mushy. A bite of the other 2 burritos didn't wow me. I could only finish 1/2 and on a second day, I poured the green sauce over it and it tasted better. Their green sauce isn't the usual tomatillo salsa, it has a creamy texture like guacamole sauce. It was tasty and well-prepared, and the hot habanero salsa was HOT and flavorful. It was such a super-filling lunch, I wasn't hungry for dinner.
