Croissant with Egg, Cheese and Bacon
    Adam B.

Super tiny corner deli that has an eclectic mix of breakfast foods, sandwiches, shawarma and Turkish treats. The breakfast bagel is pretty solid, but other meals items are a bit hit or miss. Desserts are delish though. If you pay cash, pay attention so you don't get shortchanged... probably not intentional but maybe so many people pay by card that basic math can be a bit dodgy. Asiago Bagel with Egg, Cheese & Ham: Made me miss my days in NYC a bit. Granted, it's not quite a Bodega breakfast sandwich, but it's close. Love the melty orange American cheese against the wispy ham slice and egg. The bagel is not a NYC bagel, but it's ok when toasted. Though close to $10 for a breakfast sandwich feels a tad pricey. Croissant with Egg, Cheese and Bacon: Cost $11 and it's like one of those economy class airline breakfasts. The bacon was the worst part, it was chopped and cold, like what you'd get on salad from the premade Safeway refrigerator aisle. Why can't they just give you whole slices and make it crispy? The croissant was also kinda mushy, not flaky at all. The bagel sandwich with ham was so much better. Chicken Shawarma Wrap: Felt pretty standard. Spiced chicken chunks, tons of hummus, some leafy greens and some pickles. All in a thin wrap that is pressed like a panini. Something in it tasted a tad sweet. Also, felt a bit like hummus overload. It's no Oasis Grill, but it was decent. Pistachio Baklava: Nice large piece with lots of minced nuts. Loved the sticky moist bottom against the flaky top. Really great with coffee. Rose Turkish Delight: Sweet floral and chewy. Very unique. A big hit for me.

Very nice service, and the food is good. You get your food pretty fast as well. I recommend

Can't remember the flavors but the last 2 are coconut and pistachio $5 each 7/25/24

Noticed they sold Turkish delight in all sorts of flavors. Bought four pieces at $5 dollars each. Colors looked beautiful and colorful. A little sweet but a nice little treat after dinner.

What's a city without its convenient grab and go spots? This is the newest addition to downtown SF! With a block-corner location, they work both sides of the street with one side offering your usual pastries like muffins and danishes while the other offers unique and pretty Turkish Delights. They also offer a menu of easy breakfast/lunch items like coffees, bagels, sandwiches, and bowls all made fresh and most sold at affordable prices. For my quick stop, I decided to try (for the first time) their Turkish Delights. I thought the flavors were pretty nice and the texture reminded me of dense gummy candies without the part that gets super stuck to your teeth. My favorite ended up being the red velvet one; the rose pistachio is a bit more on the sweet side but still a nice flavor combo. There isn't any seating available as it is more of a to-go setting. Staff is super nice and willing to answer any questions!

    My sweet delight!

Honestly, the best sandwich I have had in quite some time -- Turkey and Swiss on Dutch crunch, nicely loaded up. Will be coming back.

Excellent coffee at a much better price than Starbucks, and run by a very friendly woman.

I tried the regular croissant, the almond croissant, and the kouign-amann. My favorite was 100% the almond croissant. All were amazing but the flavors and textures were truly exceptional. The flakiness, the caramelization, the perfect balance of flavors. I wished I had ordered 10 more. Also, the staff were so kind, the line moved quickly, and bonus: all the items freeze exceptionally well!

For someone to stake their cred on the line and vouched for the kougn-amann, I am def up for this challenge. We took a Waymo which is the coolest car I ever rode in. This bakery location was pretty far from the hotel, but since our friend said this is the one she often visited, so off we went. The surrounding area for this location was nice and seemed to be in a good neighborhood. Since there is no seating (which is a pity), I bought a cup of hot chocolate from next door and we sat at their seatings. Hence no eating of ambiance here. SERVICE 5/5 I have to say the staff here worked really fast despite the line. They were very efficient but not lacking the basic friendly vibe. FOOD 4/5 Kouign-amann 3/5 Sadly, my friend's cred was gone. It was just an ok kouign-amann. There was not enough sugar and I def have better kouign-amann elsewhere. Mademoiselle Louise in Houston had one of the top kouign-amann I had evereaten. It was in year 2020 and I could still remember the wonderful kouign-amann there. Savory scone 5/5 Luckily I got to try the savory scone which was very flavorful and scrumptious. Highly recommended. Our friend took a bite of the kouign-amann she bought to bring home, she commented yea it was not very good, tasted diff. My brother had a butter croissant, and commented it was flakey and pillow-y at the same time. However, it lacked of a good butttet taste. Perhaps that was the reason the kouign-amann I had paled in comparison to those I ever had, which were usually made of French butter like Elle & Vrie and other gourmet butter. I would still recommend this bakery and the best time I would get the savory scone.

I have been to Butter & Crumble two times now: once while waiting in line for an hour and a half, and the second time with one of their limited pre-ordered boxes that I got lucky enough to claim. First off, I want to say that I love how Butter & Crumble is not only a woman-owned business, but I also appreciate how you can definitely tell through its whimsical decor in their small storefront. While there is not any seating inside, there is still a lot of personality packed into the space with their pink disco croissant, pretty Instagram-worthy tiles, and the aesthetically pleasing transparent divider between customers and their working team (for patrons to watch the art of making a flaky pastry!). I truly appreciate how their menu changes every month and that all of the bakers who work there are able to showcase a specialty item. I was very bummed that I missed the prime rib and Dungeness crab pastries, so I'm hoping they bring them back again soon! Since I got a pre-order box during my last visit, the pastries were already pre-selected, so I was not able to choose what I wanted. Regardless, I was happy with the selection. I got some of their signature pastries, including: *Morty P Croissant: Salty pistachio pesto with mortadella meat, giving an Italian sandwich type of vibe. *Pistachio Cardamom Croissant: Generously filled with pistachio cream with a slight hint of cardamom. It was sweet and tasted like a cannoli, but with flaky butter pastry. *Mocha Cruffin: An excellent blend of both chocolate and espresso. It was really balanced and worked well with the cruffin shape. Mine leaked out a bit (it was stuffed more on top) and got everywhere, but I enjoyed the flavors. *Herby Olive Twist: Savory and cheesy from the Parmesan, and I enjoyed both the olive and olive oil flavors paired with flaky sea salt. Overall, do I recommend Butter & Crumble? Yes. However, I do want to call out that I wouldn't recommend waiting an hour and a half in line on a regular basis to get it, even though this spot is delicious.

With a crispy undercarriage and still somehow perfectly chewy melty, it had a great balance . I also got a chocolate chip cookie which was massive for the price, chewy and not too sweet. My friend has gone to the other location a few times and said the other one was better, but this is my one off experience with Arizmendi. Ranked from best to worst, we got the: - almond croissant: kinda dense for a croissant but simple, lots of filling - daily pizza which was triple mushroom with a sesame ginger vinaigrette: a little gimmicky, smelled stronger than it tasted, not bad but wouldn't reorder, kind of dry but love the crust - cheese roll: dry as is but probably better warmed up, tasted like the pizza crust - chocolate mint cookie: very crispy edge with a softer middle, personally was too crunchy for me bc I like a softer cookie, definitely needed more mint - cowgirl cookie: letdown, had high expectations but this was super dry and needed more mixins Open to trying more pastries here because there is a large variety and wish the daily pizza flavor on our visit was better. Prices are fair and there was a line that didn't take too long.
