Good quick service. Clean. Spacious. Not too loud but music and TVs are playing- it is an airport. They are new so staffing up and kitchen is trying to meet demands of a huge capacity, it's a huge bar and sit down area. Solid remodel and decent variety of basic food.

Had lunch with my bestie to celebrate her birthday. Our meals were delicious. And HUGE! I had the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado sandwich with Sriracha aïoli mayonnaise. I could barely finish half. Bedtime had the Bahmi sandwich. We also had the mushroom salad. It was so good. Service was good, always fast. Love this location her. We ate inside which was very nice.

Needed help and Blake was the one to go out of his way to help me. The drinks are good and vibes are worth the visit. Pool is the best

We basically came here for drinks, not the food so we just sat where there was seating. We weren't greeted or given a menu. The guys went to order drinks at a the bar and we just chilled for approximately 30 minutes and left. The old fashioned we order was on the sweeter side as it had a caramelized flavor diffrent from others I've had. The place was busy, environment was opened and bright. I observed that they had a wide selection of drinks, beer and food. Definitely will have to come back and try.

Very quaint spot to meet and get reacquainted with friends like I did today during my visit to Sacramento a few weeks ago. I had the ham cheese and onion scrambled egg. Unfortunately they added bacon in it which made it very salty. They offered to fix it but I didn't want my friends waiting on me while I ate.

We've been to the Café Bernardo in Davis before and loved it, but the R Street location in Sacramento is next level and absolutely perfect for vibes. We came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The outdoor patio is the move--super cozy, stylish, and a great spot to just relax and enjoy your food. It really adds to the overall experience, especially on a nice day. We ordered the kimchi fried rice and wow, it was packed with flavor and the perfect balance of savory and spicy. Also tried their chai and it might be one of the best we've had. Rich, warm, and perfectly spiced. Highly recommend it if you're into chai. On top of all that, the service was amazing. Friendly, attentive, and just really welcoming overall. You can tell they care about the experience here. We love it here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great brunch spot in Sacramento with chill vibes and great food.

I dream about the salad sampler/trio!! It's so yummy and more restaurants need to do this. We used to go here often or to another location when we lived in the area, so we HAD to stop by when we were passing through Sac. Their food is fresh and tasty & always a win. Service is wonderful with ordering at the counter and then they bring it to you. It's simple and cute inside and clean.

Had a great experience at Cafe Bernardo Downtown Sac on R & 15th. The atmosphere is super open and welcoming, with a beautiful patio, plenty of seating, lots of plants, and a really nice indoor space with a deli-style feel. They're also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus if you like bringing your pup along. Inside, there's a full bar, tons of beer on tap, and even four pool tables, which gives it a really fun, social vibe. Just a heads up -- the pool tables are cash only, so come prepared. We grabbed some bar bites, tried the adult slushies, and had a few St. Paddy's Day drinks, and everything was absolutely phenomenal. The bartender was great -- friendly, fast, and made our drinks perfectly. Food came out fresh and looked amazing. Overall, it was a really good time with great energy, good conversation, and solid service. We'll definitely be back.

Girl, you mean to tell me they don't have the "unch" part of brunch until after 11:00. Girl I wanted Thai Noodles. When your menu says BRUNCH UNCH starts at 8:00 AM with B-b-brrreakfast girl idc Anyways, this spot is super neat! I love that the outside is very spacious, the booths are comfy looking and the servers are very attentive no matter how far or close you are to the entrance. The food was lovely. Definitely not the spot that will overflow your plate, but for the prices, the quality of the food and the timing of when it arrives - it's worth it! Oh - and for the dude who mentioned in his review that he doesn't like ethnic foods on a menu at a generic restaurant or whatever they said - guurrrrl I'm Mexican and if my Mexican-Immigrant father sees chilaquiles on a menu he is slamming his credit card on the table. If they do it right, they do it right

Honestly I love coming here for brunch/lunch! I have been here multiple times with friends and I always get something I like. So far we've tried huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, the veggie burger, and different pizzas. Everything has been yummy! My favorite is their veggie burger and pizza. I've also gotten their chai multiple times and I prefer it hot over iced. It's very tasty and has a great level of spice without being too milky. The inside is beautiful with lots of seating and the outside seating area is perfect for brunch on a beautiful day. Sitting outside, people watching, and chatting with your friends adds onto the great atmosphere of this place. Parking can be a little tricky due to the area and how busy it can get with the other restaurants/bars. I haven't tried their other location but I recommend this one for sure! Staff have always been nice the times I've been here as well.

I tried two things and both were amazing. I got a banh mi sandwich, the meat was juicy and succulent. I didn't expect to the sandwich to taste that great. I also order an angus beef burger that was also juicy and savory. This is a great hangout spot in downtown. The staff is very friendly and brings your order out quickly.

Overall? A pretty solid breakfast spot. The ambiance is a standout, the blend of indoor and outdoor seating feels intentional and well designed, perfect for a relaxed start to the day. The menu leans slightly eclectic but stays grounded in the breakfast staples, which we appreciated. Ordering at the counter is a plus as it saves time and keeps things moving. No issues with the service Parking? Street parking mainly, though since it's attached to a hotel, there may be additional options for guests We had: Two Egg Breakfast (3.5/5): Presentation was clean and inviting, but execution was hit or miss. My eggs were slightly overdone with crisped edges, taking away from what could've been a simple, well prepared plate. Toast had a good crunch but lacked depth, no real flavor standout. The fruit preserves were a pleasant surprise and added a bright, fresh note. Bacon was decent, cooked well, though it could've used more of that rich, savory fat to bring it home Single Pancake with a Side of Scrambled Eggs (4.5/5): My daughter's dish, but I snuck a few bites, and it was good. The pancake was light and airy, with just enough sweetness and a nice golden finish. The eggs were soft-scrambled with a creamy, buttery texture that showed a bit more finesse

I love coming here for brunch since they serve brunch til 3 PM or so. Parking isn't bad as long as there's no concerts scheduled. They have a bar but I always go for food not drinks. Pros: I love their outdoor seating since I like to take my dog out. They're very pet friendly. My go to is the chilequiles. I love that they do short stacks for pancakes and French toast. I've always had great service here and the people are friendly. It doesn't get too busy or crowded which is great. Cons: none

We decided for our last night all together we would pick a highly rated one for a special meal. Magpie Cafe right in downtown fit the bill and we were thoroughly impressed by everything. We ordered just about every special plus many other dishes, some multiple, from appetizers through to desserts. It's in a beautiful area of the city, open to the street and green park. We opted to sit outside as it was a lovely evening. The beer menu had some regional favorites, all small and well chosen. For food we went all out, and I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Everything was so colorful and presented beautifully. Highlights were the pickles, fried asparagus, anchovies, and croquettes. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about our dishes, she added to the experience. If you're in the area, this restaurant is worth a stop. They even have a cafe in the airport!

The drink contained gin, strawberry syrup, and fresh lemon basil. It was light and refreshing and the perfect spring summer drink. Then we had the baby eggplant which was marinated in a soy glaze. It also had some sort of peanut sauce base. This was a delightful bite. Both of us were very impressed. The presentation was gorgeous. Clearly still on my eggplant craze. One of the reasons we went to Magpie was for the trout dip. In a shocking turn of events, they didn't have it. I think it was an old menu. Maybe their winter menu. This was a bummer. Instead, they had a salmon dip. We got that, and I wish it was more flavorful/smokey. Normally, I'm not a smokey seasoning person, but I think it goes nicely with fish. The chips though were really good. I love a kettle chip. I thought they would be thicker, since the dip was thicker. I'm glad they served the dip with the spoon. We also had the stone fruit salad. I was shocked it didn't come with a cheese, but after I tasted it, the creamy yogurt successfully filled that void. Once again, the plating was gorgeous. I think the peaches were good, but I can tell that later in the summer, these peaches will be even more delectable. I think the pistachios were an excellent choice to this salad. For my main course, I had the painted hills flat iron steak with a Chimichurri sauce and crispy smashed potatoes. The steak was well cooked, and with the seasoning of the chimichurri, it was a delightful bite. Sam had the gnocchi with pesto and fresh tomatoes. The gnocchi was fluffy. Both she and I thought that the pesto was good, but we both wish that we wish there was more of it. I love pesto though, so I am always going to think that. It came in dollops, rather than mixed in, so I think that was part of the problem. We also had to get dessert. I had the ice cream sandwiches. They were made with lemon thyme shortbread cookies with vanilla Guenther's Ice Cream. I wish it was a stronger vanilla taste or a flavored ice cream. The cookies were too good though. Sam had the lavender panna cotta. Normally I am not a huge panna cotta fan, but this one was delicious. It had such a strong lavender taste, in a good way. It kind of tasted like I was eating lotion because of the thickness of the panna cotta with the lavender flavor.

The happy hour prices were reasonable and had so many great options. Can't say for certain about the parking situation because it was a close walk from our hotel. We ordered 2 mocktails, the watermelon sugar and basil berry fizz. Both drinks were super sugary and tart, which I ended up diluting with water. Still refreshing and tasty, but I think it was a bit overkill on sugar. For our mains, we tried the rigatoni bolognese, trio of fries, and chicken tenders. All food and drinks for under $50! The portions were massive, especially the trio of fries, which I was not expecting. The sweet potato fries were a bit soggy compared to the other 2, which were significantly crispier. The chicken tenders were ok and probably the least exciting thing we ordered haha. On the other hand, the bolognese was by far the standout! Flavorful, rich, creamy and the cheese pull from the pasta was to die for. Our server was super cool and patient with us, as it was our first time coming here. Totally recommend checking this place out with a group of friends to enjoy happy hour.

Ella is an upscale restaurant with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. I felt perfectly at ease wearing shorts and a polo, which speaks to how approachable the space is despite its refined reputation. Although I didn't order an appetizer, the staff surprised me with a complimentary cup of soup. It was delicious--rich, balanced, and a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the meal. For my main dish, I ordered the Crispy Fried Half Chicken with roasted garlic. It arrived with a small bottle of their house‑made hot sauce and was served in generous cuts: two drumsticks, a wing, and a breast (or thigh). The batter was beautifully flaky without falling apart, and the chicken itself was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The crisp coating practically melted before giving way to a light crunch, and the hot sauce added just the right amount of subtle heat. I opted for the Kumquat Kiss, which was delicious and different. Besides that Old Fashioned, the Hash Brown Lyonnaise really stole the show. Pillow-light hash brown sticks (how did they do that?!) with a scrumptious onion dip with crispy shallots and finely chopped chives. This is one of my top happy hour dishes of the year. Just wow! Try it yourself and tell me you don't agree. The Grilled Prawns missed the mark for me a bit, although the husband liked them. Tasty, but just not as much of a star as the other dish. Only suggestion is to have a happy hour menu for bites as well as beverages, as is found on the website. This would help avoid the need for staff to present a dinner menu (which admittedly, I was confused by) and acknowledge that the first course options are all available but at no happy hour discount (which felt a bit awkward for all involved).
