You can never go wrong with a Nordstrom's cafe. The Bistro is another level. Food is delicious, service is good, and it's fairly quick and easy to get in and out. I recommend getting the angel pasta with chicken and mushrooms, club sandwich and or the crab bisque. Definitely money well spent here! I'll probably never get over that this bistro has you order your meal at the cashier, with the added pressure of perusing the menu as quickly as possible while diners behind you peer anxiously at you, waiting for their turn to place their orders. But that wasn't necessarily the cause for this 2 star rating. Service that weekday lunch was almost non-existent as we waited for quite some time for our drinks and sat even longer waiting for our food. Our server didn't grace us with her presence to let us know that there would be a bit of a delay with our food, as would have been appreciated. I was ultimately disappointed upon the tasting of my lentil salad, which from the menu description, sounded very promising. The salad was composed of a few leaves of baby spinach, a tiny bit of raw kale, cold cooked lentils, HEAVILY salted zucchini (as in you taste salt, and not zucchini), pickled onions, and beet chips (no kale chips), all tossed in a vinaigrette. The beet chips soften almost immediately and become a soggy mess. You taste strong bouts of saltiness (from the zucchini bits) and sourness (pickled onions) plus the vinaigrette. I think my tongue was sent into flavor overdrive, and not in a good way. I can't say that I'm excited to come back. read more

Well, I have to say, I've been to several Nordstrom cafe/restaurants including the Fashion Valley location and the Escondido location and this one falls behind by quite a few notches. I've eaten here twice and both times have I left thinking, did I really pay this much money for this? Sure its convenient, since its located inside Nordstrom, and even better knowing that you can get points by going here if you're a Nordstrom card member like myself. However, now I am really starting to doubt whether those points were worth paying $40 for small portions of lunch food. I came here with my dad on a Saturday, and in the back of my head I had a bad feeling about it since I had ordered a to-go order at the cafe before and was also disappointed. Apparently, you place your order and pay before the meal and shop around until your order is ready or sit and wait for your food. So I ordered the cilantro lime salad with chicken instead of shrimp, and my dad ordered the club sandwich. Well, my order came first and looking at it , it definitely looked like they had given me a half portion salad because it almost had no greens, so I requested more lettuce. My dads sandwich on the other hand, looked like the typical sandwich, and by this I mean TYPICAL. Literally, nothing special, just a club sandwich. Sure, if you're into a club sandwich , then great but at Nordstrom Cafe Bistro you're gonna end up paying a little more for "just" a club sandwich. I mean, this thing was on regular toast bread, like no big deal, just regular bread, regular ham, regular tomatoes, and whatever but do you really want to pay more than $10 for a sandwich you can probably make at home? Ok, maybe my expectations are a little high for this Cafe Bistro, but I've been to the one in Fashion Valley and Valley Parkway, and I don't think I've ever felt ripped off like I did here. Over at the other locations, you get service, bigger portions and even a better atmosphere than this. So I think I will end my rant here, but I just wanted to reach out to Nordstrom Cafe lovers out there, if possible, try a different location or a different restaurant altogether rather than face the consequence of feeling disappointed and cheated of a good meal. read more

Went here on opening day and my god was it busy! Even so, the service was fast and friendly. I just ordered a pizza, but man was it good! They also gave us an order of their delicious french fries out of opening day generosity. I sat at the bar, and it was great watching the Chef and his guys do their thing. read more

Expensive, this place. I've never been and never really wanted to but my sister have been dying to try it. You order up front and they bring the food to you. It's a cute place for lunch or dinner. We ordered the crab bisque, the french onion soup, the chicken sandwich and the braised short rib paperdelle. Service kind of lacked a bit We had to flag down the waiter and ask for everything. He didn't look too happy to be working. Never saw a smile out of him. The crab bisque was good, the onion soup was really salty. I didn't try the sandwich but there was an olive spread for the sandwich that came on the side and that was good. The pasta was better than I expected from a cafe, thinking that none of this food is that fresh. The beef was pretty tender, just not enough of it. The whole dish was a bit dry though. My sister also ordered strawberry shortcake. A simple dessert I could make at home. The "shortbread" was a bit hard, over done but strawberries and whipped cream fresh. read more

So let me first start off by saying WOW nordstrom...the whole store looks fricken amazing! now off to food.. so i went here kind of expecting tomato basil soup bc the nords in sd always have it and it is very yummy! they only have it certain days..boo. so i got their french onion soup instead. it was YUMMY french onion soup too..wish it had a little more cheese tho. i had the roasted hcicken sandwich with goat cheese. it was very yum. kind of a little too sweet. but here is the AMAZING part. their french fries!!! omg and the kalamata oilve dip that they use is one of the most amazing things ive ever had!!!! it is the highlight of the whole place! haha well in my opinion. oh no wait..the highlight is the white chocolate bread pudding!!! ahhhh..it is up there with one of the best desserts ive had. it is sooo moist in the middle. it is crunchy on the outside and just delicious all over!!!! it melts in your mouth and your're like in heaven for in a bit. until its done and you're sad its done. ive also had their nicoise salad with salmon...YUMMY in my TUMMY! their salad is so good. their braised shirt ribs are delicious too..not sure about that polementa thing in the middle. their crab bisque soup is also really yummy too! overall that place is really delicous. but in my opinion i feel as if their systm is very complicated. pay before you sit (w large group it was difficult). and tip before service? i dunno, it would make it much easier if they just made it like a normal restaurant. just saying...still YUM tho. mmm their fries! read more

This place is soooo delicious! I can't say enough. It's definitely not mall food and it completely lives up to the Nordstrom image. I've eaten here twice and actally had the same meal both times simply because it was so yummy the first time I wanted to enjoy it again. I had the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad and the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. The salad was full of flavor and for me, just the right amount since I wanted to save room to try their signature dessert. That was a good choice - the bread pudding was one of the BEST desserts I have ever had (which is saying a lot.) Next time I go I think I will branch out and try a new entree. I must say that in the past, the service hasn't been that great. After tonight's visit, I was thoroughly impressed with the much improved customer service. I walked in at 7:55, which is five minutes until closing (they close earlier than the store). The gal greeted me with a smile, took my order, and seated me. Not once did I feel rushed to finish my meal knowing that they were closing in a few minutes. I even ordered a chocolate cake and stayed a little past closing. I have been to this particular Bistro 3-4 times. It's a nice place to eat while shopping here at Nordstrom. The service is always excellent, the tables are clean, and the server is always keeping an eye on your water glass for refills. I've tried the lime shrimp salad and crab bisque and never disappoint. Yes, it's a little pricey, but if you are at Nordstrom, who cares? And you can pay with your Nordstrom debit card to rack up points for rewards. As if shopping is not a treat enough! read more

My wife experienced cafe bistro for the first time during her visit to the Credits mall. She said the food was good however, when she arrived at home she was sick of her stomach, this must have lasted for the past 2 days. People shouldn't get sick when eating at a pricey restaurant. I've only tried the bread pudding but it was truly just so soo decadent and delicious. it's small and kind of pricey but it's so rich and sweet that you would definitely feel guilty eating all of it by yourself haha but twas still delicious :) i will def be goin back to try other things :) i love that it's soo near! read more

The food is great, if you can get it. The last two times I have been to the Cafe Bistro in the past month there has been an issue getting my food. Cerritos Center is perfectly located for me to run errands and eat on my lunch, but when it takes a half hour to get something that can take 10 minutes it really ruins my plans. Last time I came, they messed up my order and it took an additional 15 minutes, causing me to get it to-go (taking another 5 minutes) and eating it literally as I was driving to my next appointment. Today, I thought I would plan ahead and call it in to best allot my time, but when I arrived the girl seemed very confused at my order then confessed it had never been put in. Fail. Sorry Nordstrom Cafe, you're delicious but if I never have time to enjoy the food it's pretty pointless how good it is. read more

The food was good especially the pudding dessert. Our only complain was the service offered by the waitress. I didn't get her name, she has poor customer service. She didn't smile and we had to wait a long time to be serviced. This is the second time we ate at the restaurant and we preferred the services afforded to us on our first visit. At first I thought it was a bit pricy and didn't think to much of the menu, but when we received the food and drinks, it was worth it. I ordered the Short Rib Sandwich which came with Fries and I ordered a Soda. The first bite I took of the sandwich (besides the fact I dropped it all down my shirt, which is pretty normal for me) the short rib and aioli were so flavorful it was a taste explosion in my mouth. They had 2 soups I was interested in trying and a crème brulee. A will definitely be going back and I've already started to spread the word to friends this is a place to try. Second time here and we still love the food. Today I ordered the pear and blue cheese salad that was tossed in a wonderful vinaigrette. My salad had plenty of pear, blue cheese and some yummy nuts too. My daughter ordered the berry and goat cheese salad. Her salad was full of strawberries, blueberries and goat cheese with candied nuts. We both enjoyed our meals. My only complaint is why do you have to order at the counter and then take your seat. I would give this place a full five stars but I personally don't like the wait time and some servers neglect their tables. Other than that, the food is amazing and I can tell they use fresh ingredients. My favorite dish here is the steak and I like to sub the fries for the risotto that comes with the salmon. Steak, AMAZING risotto, and a delicious arugula salad is the perfect combination. If you don't want this option, go for the salmon and risotto- can't go wrong with either. read more

The food and service is really good. I would say the bread pudding is a big must and it is not like your typical bread pudding. It is more like a french tost/cake texture and is really good. I would put the bread pudding in the same class as some of the Cheesecake Factory's desserts. read more
