This is my first and hopefully not my last. I enjoy trying new coffee places, but the authentic Vietnamese coffee is too strong for me. That's why I ordered a 'Bac Xiu', which is supposed to be a sweeter white coffee, but it tasted like a black espresso with no sugar. (I toss the whole drink away, bleh!) Although the coffee here is pricey, I'm willing to pay for quality, and I hope they improve. Seems like SJ has new coffee shops opening everywhere. I always try and go outta my way to try them out. Came by yesterday and grab 3 drinks. 2 for me and 1 for the wifey. All drinks were really good and not too sweet. There's definitely a unique feeling when you walk into this place. Feels like you're walking into a movie lol. And I usually never really care for customer service but the gentleman that took my order made me feel kinda special lol. I love how they open at 7am and is omw to work. we honestly came here to try the banh mi HAHA. because we were talking about how just having pate and the cha lua would be tasty on its own. Not busy at all in the afternoon. Grabbed an egg coffee which was WHOOOO strong, but good balance, wasn't too sweet if you let the ice melt a bit. The banh mi didn't look impressive, they were the skinny baguettes. We brought them back to the hotel and ate it several hours later and you know what. for $4ish it was a tasty snack. I'd get it again. Came here and ordered a coffee & a jasmine tea. They misunderstood or something and it came out jasmine milk tea instead. When I told the barista they made the wrong drink, they said they couldn't do anything about it and sorry. Customer service is not all there. Won't be back! I stumbled across this place as I just came to this plaza in San Jose! The banner outside really helped. This Vietnamese coffee shop recently opened, and I'm happy to see they're still busy! While their line could get a little long, they are very quick to make the drinks and answer any questions. They will make sure they get your drink right! The inside looks like a hip/modern vibe but I wouldn't say it would be a good place to study or hangout for a long time. The line can end up right up against the tables and chairs making it less comfortable to be around. They do have a bathroom for customers though. I tried the CQ Signature egg coffee today ($8) and it was really good! I loved the heavy coffee flavor and complimentary sweet egg cream foam. The light foam is great for sipping the coffee together and blends well. I wish the cup lid was a little bit easier to sip out of, but overall really good. Maybe I'll come back to try out another drink or their bread sandwiches soon. They have a deal for $15 of two drinks and one of their sandwiches - maybe for another time. read more

Been here twice and it lowkey reminds me of an American Highlands Coffee which I love. I recommend their Banh Mi Que Dac Biết which includes Pate, Shrimp, Pork floss & Pork Ham (Cha Lửa) I've had their CQ Signature and their Egg Coffee. Came for the mini banh mi's and coffee. Coffee is great quality and keeps you energized. The banh mi's are the perfect snack sized. They come out warm and are reasonably priced. Upon arriving, you can definitely see the beautiful aesthetic from outside. I love the black and white vibe because it just makes everything look so sleek and clean. The store itself is spacious with lots of seating. Came on a Friday and it was busy but even then, drinks came out in a timely manner! I got the egg coffee, salted coffee, Pandan latte and ube latte. All my drinks were amazing but my fave are the Pandan latte and ube latte! Coffee was super strong and creamy just how I like it. Was so addicted to my drink I finished it within 15 minutes! The mini sandwiches were also so good!! It was a good size and filled with so much deliciousness. Loved the pate in there! Overall I had a good experience and service was impeccable! The owner was very kind and he explained to me that Vietnamese coffee is typically very strong and that why they always put some sugar water in it, but he still made me an unsweetened one because that's what I wanted. So many of the 5-star reviews of this place are new accounts with no history and no review other than a single 5-star review and photo of this shop? Hmmm. Fake review much? Anyways we saw the grand opening and I got the CQ special and a pandan coffee. The only thing "special" with the CQ special is how specially little it is. Just about a shot glass' worth of coffee. With ice added, it came up to about a third of my cup. Pandan coffee does not taste pandan and was filled up only 2/3 of the way. Right after this place, I had to stop at another coffee shop to get a decent cup of vietnamese egg coffee, filled to the top. I would not return here. read more

Ive been here twice since their grand opening. Theres little to no AC so I wouldn't recommend studying here because when I walked in both times it was a bit hot with loud music. The employees are also kind and willing to answer any questions that my mom had :) CQ Special: 10/10-- A must try! Vietnamese coffee with a creme brulee creme swirled around the cup. I typically get it with 50% sweet which is just right imo, any sweeter would taste like a dessert. The coffee itself is more smokier and deeper in taste in comparison to Tram Coffee, not that its necessarily any better. My Vietnamese mom also adored the taste! Unfortunately, wasn't able to try the good food that I heard online. Because the place was closed about an 30 min to hour before 7pm. I understand that there was a family emergency or something going on. But at least a paper or page to tell the customers that they're closed would be nice while their open sign is on. I would like to start by saying - that the ambiance of the place/ decor etc. is excellent and the interior is done very tastefully. The service is very personal and my own favorite are the strong Viet coffee. what's also a pleasant surprise - are the pate sandwiches that are served in a long baguette roll. Great vibes but long wait!! We were super excited to try this place, considering so many good reviews. However, we weren't as pleased. Long wait, food left cold upon serving us and after two bites we found a sizable rock. Luckily, no damage to my teeth but not a great experience.
