This our is our 1st time dining here. Also we're excited because it's also our 1st time to have a crab boil other then having it at home.So our friends that live in the area suggested this place. When we arrived it wasn't very bz.The room was only half full. The establishment looked old, plain and out of date decor but I figured that they concentrated on good food then a fancy restaurant. So after ordering our drinks we placed our orders. So our friends had the various crab boil combo's.Everything was tasty, perfectly seasoned and they gave a good amount of food.We were very happy.Staff were very friendly as well..When back on Oahu we will definitely be coming back.

This place was better than I expected! The portions are very generous compared to Kickin Kajun, and while the sauces are different it was still super tasty and garlicky. I tried the Cajun garlic butter and the lemon garlic sauce. I like how the lemon sauce has a fresh zing to it, the Cajun was a tad salty. The cheese curds were super cheesy and gooey! The baskets here are a good portion if you have kids who don't eat seafood. The service was also good. The ambiance is nothing special but clean enough to get down and dirty with some crab lol.

I would like to say that this is my second time here and my experience was great. We came in right before the dinner rush on a Sunday night and it was perfect. It was slow and service was on point. I didn't get rushed at all. We started with some drinks and some appetizers. Ordered a basket of popcorn chicken and 18pc of fresh oysters. I'm a sucker for oysters and they were delicious. Squeezed the lemon slices on the Tabasco and poured it all over the oysters. Perfect! Also ordered the butter garlic snow crab combo with a side order of the kajun garlic butter sauce. It was definitely fulfilling. I'm not a fan of prawns and prefer more of the shrimp or muscles instead but can't sub anything unfortunately but it's ok. Over all a great dinner without any complaints. I would come here again for the seafood boil.

I've ordered takeout from here but never actually dined in until recently. Located in the Waimalu shopping center, lots of parking but hard to find if you come at peak dinner time. We arrived around 445ish and the restaurant was half empty so we got sat right away. We ordered our food and it came out pretty quick. The food was delicious per usual but it was definitely more enjoyable at the restaurant than eating it at home! Service was great, it didn't look like very many of them but they were on it with checking on all the tables. I noticed that the restaurant filled up super quick. I am always craving seafood boil and I think I've found a good spot. I usually get the shrimp and so far, it hasn't been overcooked! Love the consistency. What really shocked me was how good their fries were and the portion was huge. Will be ordering from here again soon!

Ordered take out on a weekday night. Place wasn't busy. Lots of seating. Food came out quickly. Good flavoring.

Wow!!! Our guests arrived before us on purpose to give their card to pay for dinner. Doc and I had also slipped our cards to the waiter not knowing what transpired before we got there. Each of us had our own bag of customized items we selected from the menu. You also get to choose your spice level and sauce. You are provided with a plastic apron and a pair of disposable gloves to protect your clothes and hands. I was the only one who didn't use the gloves but I'm glad they gave extra napkins and wet wipes. The food came out piping hot. As soon as we ordered, paper plates and 3 implements were brought to the table to help remove the crab meat from the shells. Use your Yelp check in to get a free soda too. It was quite a surprise when the bill came and 3 credit cards were returned and Doc's friends had treated us to dinner.

Snow crab combo #4 with Cajun garlic butter.

After ordering our food, a stack of paper plates, napkins, wipes, bibs, crab crackers, gloves and utensils arrived on our table. Our food arrived soon after, it comes to the table in a plastic bag mixed with the sauce you select. The food was tasty, I had combo #4 with Cajun and garlic butter flavor. Was it messy, yes, every time you stick your hand in the bag it gets all over your hands (I honestly would have preferred my food dumped on a metal tray so I could see everything and it would be way easier to get to) just my opinion.

Friday night and here for a birthday. We have been to this location before for special occasions like Friendsgiving and even for my first my college graduation party! The food here speaks for itself and the flavoring of it is exceptionally memorable. It's a bit stronger for some but I love the Cajun or garlic butter options for most of the seafood. Their black bean sauce is also really good especially when ordering clams. I love that this location is central to everything and in Waimalu shopping center which is nice for family and loved ones to be able to get together. The service is decent and I love that it's one of the fewer places now that still serve Dungeness Crab which is what our birthday girl wanted on a Friday night. We had reservations so there was luckily no wait although it got busy shortly after. With a simplistic ambiance the seafood really is the ultimate highlight. They were out of King crab when we went but usually have that available. Overall a great experience but lost a star due to first the reservation procedure which only allowed a party of 6 or more to make one everyone else is first come first serve. Will return for another seafood craving

Ask the Community - Cajun King Aiea

Do they offer discount for Military and veterans?

Can just order snow crab in butter garlic?

yes

Did your number change listed isn't working?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows if Cajun King Kaneohe is open as well?

Hello Agueda, Sorry we don't know if Cajun King Kaneohe is open. We are own by two different owners. You can give them a call.

Is there still an issue with rotten/spoiled seafood?

Have not experienced any issues with spoiled/ rotten food

I've been trying to call to make a reservation. But no one answers and it's seems to be out of service. Is there a different number that I can call to make a reservation?

Sorry Elvie. There is a mass outages around the island. Our phone line run by the internet. I can help you here. How many people for your reservation, what date, and time?

Are the portions for the combos big?

Hello Kailee. A combo is about 3.5-4.5 pounds of seafood, depends on which combo you get. A combo usually feed 2-3 people

Do I need to make a reservation?

no, very casual dining, just walk in

How can you charge a party of 7 people the 18% gratuity when the 7th person is a newborn baby (1 1/2 month old)? What service did you provide to my newborn that you deserve the right to charge her gratuity? That's just BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

That is horribly wrong of this place! Gratuity is given because we are grateful for good service. If they are adding it in as a mandatory charge, it is no longer gratuity and you may be selling yourself short. I was going to take my family here but…

They like charge 18% for 5 adults and 2 small kids 2 yrs & 4yrs old cause the manager said no matter what it's 7 people.. THEY SUCK SHITTY SERVICE?

That's pretty standard at many restaurants to include gratuity for parties of 6 or more. I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't include children (unless they're infants under 1) as part of the headcount. Sorry you had a bad experience.

It's incredible on the seafood, but honestly, I could dip just about anything in it. The fries are amazing with it, and even the catfish takes on a whole new level of flavor when you dunk it in that sauce. I'd probably consider myself a regular at this point, and 9 out of 10 visits the food is phenomenal. Every once in a great while--maybe once every six months--you'll get seafood that's a little fishier than expected, and it might make you hesitate before coming back. But then your next visit reminds you exactly why you keep returning. The food is consistently some of the best seafood you'll find. The service is another reason I love this place. The wait staff is always friendly, especially one of the local aunties who always makes us feel welcome. The manager is constantly walking the dining room, checking on guests and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. It's refreshing to see a manager who genuinely cares about the customer experience. The restaurant itself is a lot of fun. The nautical decorations make you feel like you're sitting in a dockside seafood shack. It almost feels like they're dropping crab pots out back and bringing your dinner straight to the table. Boiling Crab has become one of my go-to restaurants, and I recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing seafood boil. Great food, great service, a fun atmosphere, and a sauce you'll be thinking about long after you leave.

If you're looking for some high quality seafood, this place will hit the spot. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the International Market Place, just above the luau area. They were having a luau when we arrived for dinner as the sun was going down, which made for a pretty nice atmosphere. We started with the chilled seafood sampler which came with some super meaty oysters, shrimp cocktail and ahi poke. I usually prefer oysters on the smaller side, but these tasted so fresh and clean that I'd order them again in a heartbeat. After a few suggestions from our server, we decided to go with the signature combo and added some snow crab and lobster. It came out in 3 separate bags so we went with each of the 3 signature sauces to give them all a try. My favorite sauce was probably the red, which came packed with cajun flavor and a hint of spice, but the black and white sauces were delicious in their own right. The flavors of each sauce were more nuanced and complex than the ones I've had at other seafood boil places, which is something I appreciated. All of the seafood in our combo was cooked perfectly and tasted great, but the snow crab and lobster were the real stars. Each giant piece of crab leg was filled with sweet, buttery meat and when paired with the chunks of spam covered in the sauce, was just perfect. If you want to indulge yourself a little bit, get yourself some snow crab and some giant lobster claws and you will not regret it. The meal ended with a unique and fun dessert that they made for the kids, which capped a very satisfying experience. I was a little skeptical about this place after reading some of the reviews, but this was one of the best dinners we had on our trip. I think some of the reviewers might have come here expecting a bargain or some cheap eats, but to be honest, real quality seafood comes at a price. Desert slices are small and cost 8.50-13.00 (go down the road to Liliha Bakery instead) Vanilla Caramel Crunch cake - there wasn't a real "crunch" and the caramel layer in the top is way too thick. Chocolate cake - too dense Mango cheesecake - too tart
