Tried it for the first time today and the food was great. I got curbside pickup and the waiter was so polite and genuinely kind.

Previous reviews by me of Carrabbas have been glowing. This time neither the initial treatment of us as diners nor the food were remarkable. We arrived about 6:45 pm and were escorted to a booth in a very dark end of the restaurant. Being claustrophobic , I requested a table. There had to be 20 tables available, but we were told that we had to wait thirty minutes. The reason was , they were short on waitstaff, which we understood. However, our suggestion was to give us the waitstaff person who would have waited on us at that booth and assign him/her to a table which was not far away. That created a real problem, with the manager being called and the hostess repeating herself constantly. Finally after many times repeating our suggestion, we were seated at the table and within a minute a waiter was there! By that time, we were quite upset, but put in our order. The salads and soups that were ordered were fine and the bread was delicious as always. Before we finished our appetizers, the entrees were brought to us which is not something that should be done at all. I placed my salad to one side and started on my entree. My chicken piccata was delicious, but the accompanying broccoli had a very strange taste. One of the other two diners ordered the eggplant entree which was not totally cooked. He is from out of state and dines at Carrabba's in his area where he often enjoys the eggplant and has always been pleased. My partner tried the rigatoni martini which was acceptable but not to his liking to a full degree. I want to start off by saying that our family loves this place. We will continue to there. Love their food, most of the time their servers are kind. I know times are tough. But, the past couple of times the service has been REALLY less than. The last time we went, it was fairly early, so it wasn't like it was busy. Our bill came up to 84.99.. with tip, we rounded it to a total of 102.00. yhe following week, my hubs noticed we were over charged 153.00. He went down to resolve his issue. The manager said so casual, o someone gave themselves a big tip. He chu kled it off refunded my husband and that was that. i have a problem with that. It's not a laughing matter. also, if i were manager i wouldnt bag my people like that, and i would apologize for this error, as i would consider it a big one. no sorry for the inconvenience, or please comeback, here's a coupon for a free appetizer... nothing! Great experience here. Our server, Austin, was very attentive and helpful. The food was hot and delicious. My husband got the veal steak and I had the osso buco ravioli - both seasonal specials. The tiramisu was enough to share and decadent. This Carrabbas is the closest to us - an hour drive - and it was worth the voyage in terrible weather. read more

I haven't been here recently, but the few times that I have been here were surprisingly good. I say that because it's a mid-level chain restaurant and usually I avoid chains, especially living in RI which is a foodie state for sure. I ordered/created a pasta dish that wasn't on the menu...with spicy marinara and shrimp and it was really yummy. Others that I've dined with really enjoyed their food and drinks also. Kayla (I think, she's blonde) was my bartender when I came in on my anniversary. She sneezed/coughed all over the bar while taking out order, then didn't bother to run our soups/salads or entrees or check in to see how they were. Food was great, service was awful. read more

It's been a while since we've been to a Carrabba's and it was everything i remember it to be!! The food was amazing!! My favorite is the Tuscan Filet with the added Spiedino and it didn't disappoint!! Three of us had steak and they were all cooked perfectly. Our waitress, Emily, was truly one of the best we've EVER had!! She was checking on us constantly and refilling our drinks without us even asking, and I had at least 4 iced teas, along with drinks for the other 4 of our family!! read more

I've been to Carrabba's several times. They are a middle range Italian Chain. Generally the authenticity won't be on par with places like Old Canteen or Twin Oaks, but its pretty decent. I went there recently, and it was a busy night, but I had a call ahead, which was a good thing, otherwise the wait would have been 2 hours they told me. I had to wait 25 min, which wasn't too bad. They should add more waiting area seating though. I found the service to be good, they were very attentive and always checking to make sure the food was good, clearing dishes, bringing a soda without having to ask. The atmosphere was good, a little loud, and the jazz type music a little loud too. I had the tomato caprese appetizer, a cup of minestrone, chicken marsala, pasta and a soda. The food was quite good, served at the right temperature, although I would have liked the pasta to have more tomato sauce on it and less garlic. They tend to put far too much garlic in everything similarly to the Olive Garden. Italian food and sauces primarily use basil, salt, pepper and a trace of garlic, but it shouldn't leave you with garlic breath the following day! All in all I enjoyed the experience. read more

I took my daughter here on Friday evening. We were quickly greeted by a smiling hostess and seated immediately. We ordered the mozzarella balls as an appetizer. The accompanying marinara sauce had a nice spicy bite to it. For the entre I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo Carraba which seemed like a version of carbinara. It had grilled chicken, peas and mushrooms with an Alfredo sauce. While the portion was large, I'm wondering if the establishment salts the water for the pasta, which tasted a little bland. I can overlook this, cause there may be people watching their sodium intake. My daughter had the chicken parmigiano, with a side of Alfredo pasta, which she loved. I also had a wonderful side salad and a bowl of Awesome lentil soup with sausage. I also had a nice glass of peach Sangria, and my daughter ordered a nice piece of cake to take home. We were served by a very sweet and engaging waitress named Elizabeth. She could pass as Sarah Silverman's younger sister :-) She was adorable, witty, and funny! She said she's saving up to go to college but she needs a car first. I hope the restaurant sees what a great addition they have on their team. Overall, great service, good food. Being Italian and having lived there for a few years, it's hard to rate a chain restaurant 5 stars for Italian cuisine, but they're a great place if you aren't able to make it to Italy. :-) read more

Gosh I really enjoy going here. It always surprises made that it is a chain restaurant. The service is personal and excellent. The menu is extensive and varied. I love the little dishes that give you an option when you are not in the mood for a big meal. Their salads are excellent as well. The last time we went I got a little dish of meat bowls with ricotta cheese that was so good. My only suggestion would be that they maybe warm the ricotta cheese first or throw some marinara on top of it to warm it up a little because it was very cold against the hot meatballs. But I mixed it up myself and it was absolutely delicious. I got the penne side dish and even though it was a side dish I couldn't finish it. Everything is really lovely. My friend got dessert and he ended up taking half of that home but really enjoyed it. Beware ordering wine.... I would never go back! My sister and I ordered a glass of wine, it was 11.99 in the menu, which is a bit high for a basic red wine, but when we got the bill it was 17.99! We though a mistake for sure, who would pay 17.99 for A GLASS of wine, not me! Well, the bartender said it was because we got a 9 ounce glass vs. 6 ounce! I go to Carrabba's pretty regularly and each time I enjoy myself. Is it the best Italian food in RI well of course not but it is much better than other chain restaurants and far more authentic than lets say *cough cough Olive Garden cough*. Let me be honest I go here for their Sangria. I have tried there red, blackberry and on my last visit I went all in and tried the peach(it was on special). The blackberry is still by far my favorite but I enjoy all of the kinds I have tried. they also have a white Sangria but I am normally a red wine fan so that is the way I tend to lean. The peach Sangria was very sweet but refreshing. The blackberry is also sweet but rich. On to the food; I really like their Linguine Pescatore. It is a large portion of pasta with large scallops, muscles and shrimp in a marinara sauce. I have had that the last few times I have gone and been pleased each time. I would say the food is pretty consistent overall. The menu has a lot of options from pasta and pizza to seafood and steak so everyone will be happy. There is not normally a long wait, my last visit was on a Friday night and we waited about 20 minutes. My date and I sat at the bar and enjoyed a quick drink there while we waited to be seated. The bar tender was fast and friendly, served our drinks and closed our tab just in time for us to be seated making the wait a non issue. Carrabba's bread and oil and herb dipping sauce is delicious. I love bread and could eat a loaf to myself and they will keep bringing it to you if you are trying to carb load for a marathon or something. Servers there are very responsive, well trained and friendly. You can see the kitchen from the dining room and that gives a nice atmosphere to the restaurant. Overall an enjoyable meal, I went home happy and a bit tipsy exactly how I like to unwind on a Friday night. read more

The atmosphere is sad, not Italian enough. "Decrepit" one could say.. doesn't make one want to stay very long. Not a single person is speaking Italian. In fact, our server was Italian-phobic. Our bread was too warm. They put weed in the olive oil. The water glasses were contentious; loved by some and resented by others. I asked for shredded cheese and the server grated me a singular shred. They put pepper in our wine. Then the server swept us into the dust bin and threw us out, and disassembled our booth while we were in it. It was exhilarating. Would come again! read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! I have only been a few times but the food has always been delicious and the wine generously poured. You MUST try the chicken Bryan. OMG it is to die for!!! Just make sure that you save room for dessert because the sogno di ciocolatta is incredible! read more

SANGRIA The blackberry Sangria is to die for. My wife always orders Sangria wherever we travel and we drove to Carrabbas for this sole reason to try their Blackberry Sangria and it was not disappointing. The only bad thing is they go down real easy and you can just keep drinking them. As for the menu in general it has a good selection and we ordered a few apps. Carrabba's is a really nice place to eat. They have a comfortable atmosphere i.e. I could smell the wood burning in the pizza ovens, the place is clean, and cozy. The service was really good, my server was very nice and attentive. Everything came out in a timely manner and was hot. I got a bowl of linguine with meat sauce and the red sangria was delicious. Prices were appropriate for the food quality and atmosphere. Definitely a step above Olive Garden. I frequent many places and I find that if I want a better meal than I can get at Carrabba's I would have to go to an expensive restaurant where I would spend even more and have to dress up. I went there a few years ago with a group of friends but I wasn't yelping at the time and just thought I needed to. I ordered the lentil soup which came with crusty Italian bread and it was the best soup I have ever had which could have been a meal on its own. I also ordered the chicken parmigiana which I had to take most home because I was already full. The pizza also looked amazing. I'm not in the Warwick area much so I haven't been back, but when I am and drive by I remember how good the food was. We will definitely have to go back so I can add some pictures. We don't normally frequent Carrabba's but when my broker has a good year, he sends me an Outback gift card (some have suggested I should change brokers ... ) and rather than use it at the steakhouse franchise, we prefer Carrabbas as we think the food quality is a bit better. That being said, Carrabba's is a decent enough chain, nothing to write home about, but it does provide good service and the food is serviceable enough. This location's dining area is pleasant and appealing, clean restrooms, and the wait-staff was cordial and attentive. We shared some apps of fried calamari and zucchini fries which were lightly battered and cooked well - the only drawbacks were in the accompanying sauces: the marinara for the squid was rather bland while the aioli for the zucchini was overwhelmingly garlicky. Two of my daughters had the margherita pizza which they thought was only okay, the crust being a little soggy; my oldest daughter had a grilled chicken Caesar salad which was also okay; my wife enjoyed hers the most, having the Johnny Rocco salad with good seared scallops and shrimp. I had the chicken parmesan sandwich, which was toasted nicely, and the chicken parm was okay too. Best was the side dish of a cucumber and cherry tomato salad. A good place for a decent meal, but not a memorable one. read more

Not really one to review chain restaurants but my experience at this location was really great. Came during prime dinner time with no reservations for 8 people. After being told it would only take a couple minutes to put a table together we waited for what seemed to be about a half hour. Realizing we had been told this and seeing the group get a bit antsy the manager offered us free tastings of sangria and even brought over a couple of (my favorite) arancini appetizers. I was honestly super impressed by this simple act of generosity that is not so common in chain restaurants. Other than that, meals were great, and as in other reviews the sangria is even better. My personal favorite is the classic red that has a hint of cinnamon in it. Can't remember our waitresses name, but she was definitely on point and very attentive. Overall this place earns a spot in my favorite go to casual nights out. read more

Went for some ridiculous huge group mother's day brunch with the baby mama's famalam. Pretty standard Italian chain, like Vinnie Testa's....crowded, boring, dark, bad. The calamari was WHITE....like ghost white, the mozza sticks were flat and still frozen in the middle. Everything tastes the same, which is to say bad. They served my Peroni draft in a fucking Miller lite mug/stein thing. Espresso was like overbrewed Folgers. The bruschetta topping looked like compost, brown and rotted. Italian detritis. The cake was decent, hence the second star. Perfect for Warwick: shitty restaurant for a shitty town. Im glad I didnt have to pay. read more

A few Mondays ago I went to Carrabba's for the second time. The first time I went with my family, it was not very memorable, I just remember waiting a very long time to eat and then being squished in the middle of a crowded room while eating. However when i went recently with my boyfriend, I had a much better dining experience. I ordered the Penne Franco, a side italian salad, and a bowl of Minestrone soup. I was very hungry and it was the perfect amount to hit the spot with a little leftover pasta for lunch the next day. The salad was decent, not as good as Olive Garden's salad, but good for a chain restaurant. However the Minestrone was one of the best I have ever had, absolutely yummy. The Penne Franco sounded good in theory, but was very very bland, not much flavor at all which was disappointing. The warm bread and olive oil that was served at the beginning of the meal had more flavor than my pasta. My boyfriend ordered the Johnny which was Sirloin Marsala and Chicken Bryan. He enjoyed the chicken, but wished he had just gotten that alone because the sirloin wasn't as good and was highly undercooked. His meat was set back to the kitchen and served him another piece of meat instead. I tried his mashed potatoes, they were alright, garlicky, but a little too starchy, giving you that gluey feeling in your mouth. We used this 10 dollar off coupon that I had gotten on Facebook and then restaurant took my boyfriend's entree off the bill and we were faced with 5 dollar check. It was very nice that the restaurant did this. Our waitress was pleasant, not above and beyond, but good. The decor is interesting, slightly gives me a mexican feel. But for an italian chain restaurant, it's not too bad on a week night. read more

I'll take Carrabba's over OG any day of the week. I prefer the mom and pop places, but sometimes it's ok to venture into the chains for a bite. This is one of my favorites for those times. Food is mostly freshly prepared and service is generally good. Tory (our server last time) was outstanding. I had the Chicken Trio - with a substitution and my hubby had some pasta - both were good. The tiramisu was a complete bust. I told Tory about it and not only did they take it off the bill, they took off the other dessert and went to investigate what was wrong (turns out they didn't soak the ladyfingers nearly long enough). That's great service. One tip: if there's a long wait, consider the communal tables next to the bar. It's first come, first served and a bit raucous, but we had a blast. read more

It is what it is - a chain Italian restaurant, like Olive Garden, but without the bottomless breadsticks and salad. We went here last night after a late afternoon movie. Got there around 7:00, was told there was a 45-50 minute wait, and, as we weren't in a rush to go anywhere, we took the little pager thing and settled in at the bar. Bartender was friendly and good, once we got his attention. The new blackberry sangria they are now serving was pretty tasty. We were happy that our pager started a-buzzin after only 20 minutes. The host dude was some Ashton Kutcher wannabee who acted like he was the maitre d at Capriccios. He brought us to our table, put down our menus, started explaining the little special menu and started walking away as he kept on talking. It was kind of funny actually. Anyway, the food was eh-nothing-special. We had the calamari, which was about what could be expected from a chain, not great, not terrible, and we both had caesar salads, pre-made, nothing special, and I had a sausage and fennel pizza, while my fiancee had a chicken and pasta dish, both of which were average. . . again, not bad, and about as good as can be expected from a chain. We decided to skip dessert. Our waitress was friendly and personable throughout the meal. She did disappear every once in a while for extended periods of time, usually when we were waiting for a drink or in between courses. Not sure if this was because the bar and/or kitchen was slow, or if it was her. Overall, if we are in the mood for Italian, we will definitely go somewhere else. We would come back here basically only if there was nowhere else to go, mainly because the sangria was pretty good. read more
