But, if my family loves it enough to drive from Keller, to Dallas for Mexican food, it must be worth it. From the outside, it's very unsuspecting- on the corner of a random strip mall. On the inside, it's small, intimate, and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and they provide quick and efficient service. We started with a bowl of queso, and WOW. Best queso I've ever had. Better than Torchy's. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, which were incredible and a great price. I always want to order them at other restaurants, but are normally $19-20. Here they were $13!! Also ordered queso with ground beef. Very small portion of beef. Still tasty though. Tea was a miss for me. Rice and beans were average and a little dry. My boyfriend and I moved to Texas about 9 months ago and have tried several Mexican restaurants in the area. We wanted to try something new, so we saw the outstanding reviews on yelp and decided to give this place a try. Not only was the food excellent, but the service is some of the best I have seen in Dallas. I had the Camerones Diablo and my boyfriend had the Brisket Enchiladas. Both were very good. We also tried the guacamole. Next time, we will try the queso. The atmosphere was very nice. We sat on the patio since it was a beautiful day out, but they had a live singer indoors so when we finished our meal, we had a couple margaritas at the bar and listened to her sing. She was excellent and had a beautiful voice. If you are a fan of margaritas, this is the place to come. They have a happy hour until 7 and the margaritas are great! We were going to Luna de Noche but they were closed. We looked for a Tex Mex close by because we really wanted some Mexican food. This restaurant had 4.6 stars so we decided to give it a try. Wow wow wow is what my son said of the food. I had chicken fajitas, my wife had the Tamale and quesadillas, and my son had an enchilada plate. All were excellent and delicious. The servings were generous, the ambiance reminiscent of a Cancun beachside resort. Restrooms were very clean, also. Overall this was a great lunch. We asked a family that was leaving the restaurant just as we were entering if the like this place and they said it was a favorite. I feel it may become a favorite of ours, too. Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Lots of interesting things in addition to the standard fajita and combination plate offerings. The spinach tamale was perfect. Served with a nicely spiced mole and a chipotle cheese sauce, it provides some much needed variety for vegetarians. You can also order it topped with pork stew. Because I wanted to try the tamale and a soup, they hacked together a lunch special for me. I also had the beef vegetable soup, which is also not standard TexMex fare and it was really good. I am in love with this place! It has truly started to grow from just a whole in the wall. They have a lovely patio area now, which is nice to sit on when the weather permits it. There margaritas are only $3 during happy hour time. I have try to have different things each time I go. So far I like the tamales, brisket tacos, chile relleno, and the Adrian special. Hey now! This is our new neighborhood place and Mama and I came to check it out. All I have to say is YUMMY! We had the guacamole and chips to start it was very creamy and good! I love that it was not so spicy. The chips were fabulous very fresh and tasty. Mother and I split an order of the nachos. The cheese was was that amazing white cheese that's so good. We had bean and cheese only but they are very wonderful. We split the cheese enchiladas with beans and rice. The beans are the kind that aren't pureed so they we're substantial and the enchiladas were full of cheese. We had them covered with chili sauce which was not overwhelmingly hot and spicy. Last but not least we split the sopapilla's. Fatastic! Instead of one big one you get 12 little ones to customize to your liking. They were so wonderful to make them with the sugar on the side. I don't like all the sugar but Mother does so it was great! The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the price was perfect! We'll definitely be back read more

Great little Mexican/TexMex. Service was stellar, waiter answered all our questions, and never had to ask for a refill once. Food came out extremely quick, was hot & fresh. We wanted a little extra spice so they brought out some grilled Serranos & WOW those are hott! Be warned if you like spicy they were great if you don't stay away. With homemade flour tortillas and great guacamole, the dish was stellar. I went off my routine and had Mexican lasagne. Chips, chicken, cheese, corn, black beans all cooked into layers of heaven separated by alternating layers of red and green sauce. Great deviation worth the detour. The service is great, so much that I assumed the server was the owner. She wasn't, but she was enthusiastic enough to have been. Met the owner/chef and complimented and thanked her for a great dinner. I can't say enough positives about Casa Mama. I can only hope to support them enough to get the re ignition they deserve. There are a lot of Mexican food restaurants in and around the Dallas Texas area, but Casa Mama is one of the best and authentic Mexican foods you can find. The salsa is home made as well as the chips and are brought out first as an appetizer. we could have made a meal of just the chips and salsa but had to order the enchiladas both beef and chicken then we shared. waiter was on top of it and very attentive to our needs. There was no way I was visiting the great state of Texas without partaking in some authentic mexican cuisine. My fam highly recommended Casa Mama and it did not disappoint. For starters, the salsa is delicious! It's full of flavor but not too spicy. I ordered the salmon tacos with cilantro and onions (instead of the veggies and cheese). I asked that they serve them on flour tortillas. They came with retried beans and rice. Yummy! The salmon was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The service was excellent. Our server gave our table a free tostada for everyone, which was delicious! We kept getting fresh chips and salsa, and the salsa was delicious and fresh. Wonderful new tex mex restaurant in North Dallas! I came about 2:30 on a Saturday and there were several other tables dining so that was the 1st good sign. The chips were fresh, crunchy, and not greasy or over salted. The salsa was good and not too spicy. I started with a side of queso (check the back of the menu - it's only $1.75!!) and a side of warm poblano cream salsa. The queso was creamy, buttery, and had the right amount of kick. It was hard to stop eating it. The poblano cream sauce was ok but pretty thin and not much flavor or spice. My waiter also brought me a complimentary nacho as an appetizer. The sour cream chicken enchiladas were delicious. The corn tortillas were fresh and made in house. Chicken was moist and shredded well. The manager and staff were really nice, the inside was clean and well decorated. The exterior is your typical strip mall so it would be easy to drive past and dismiss Casa Mama but that would be a big mistake! I will be back again for sure! read more

I went for dinner on a Wednesday night and enjoyed great food and service. The waitress/host was friendly and the staff worked as a great team to be attentive to our needs and send us on our way. If you are a spicy sauce person, this place is great. I was impressed by the house salsa, mole and habanero sauce we tried. The flan is also something special (we got two orders to go). The beef in my Caldo de Res was a pleasant soft texture. I even got lucky with a sweet lime. Definitely a place I'll return to. Note: The churros are filled with some sort of sweet carmel-ey stuff (unfortunately). I think it's overly sweet and takes away from the soft texture the insides should have, but maybe you'll like it. A picky note: their corn chips were fresh, fragrant and addictive (definitely above average!!!) ...But their corn tortillas were disappointingly under-average (maybe even stale). Definitely a different maker... and might even affect all the enchiladas...!! Careful. The flour tortillas - average(?). I got the brisket enchiladas - an interesting twist with a happy ending. The enchiladas are stuffed with mashed potatoes. Weird right? No. It was SO good! Three words: Caldo de Res. If you have never ordered this authentic Mexican soup, do it here. My mom pined for this soup since trying it in the 80s and we arrived at Casa Mama to find it on the menu. We've been obsessed ever since. The broth has that low and slow simmer flavor that you just can't fake, and the meat is tender and juicy. And best of all, they serve it with chopped white onion, lime and rice that take it to another level and let the diner make their own concoction. Flour or corn tortillas for dipping come with it, too. I could clearly go on and on about the soup, but we also rave about the brisket enchiladas, the ribeye tacos and the Caldo de Pollo if beef isn't your thing. I absolutely love this little place! They have amazing service and the food is good! I ordered the caldo de res and it was authentic and tasty. They serve it the only way it should be served, with rice, tortillas, cilantro and lime. The meat was tender and cut with a a spoon the vegetables were cooked all the way through but not mush. The husband for his staple, steak nachos. I was so involved in my food I forgot to ask him how they were. He literally had one chip left when I asked. Apparently they were delicious. We also had a couple house margaritas on the rocks each. They were only $4 on happy hour and the mix taste homemade. The prices are amazing. Most plates are only 7 dollars. That is an amazing price for Tex-Mex! My only complaint is they aren't close to us ... not their fault tho. They are a bit too fat for us to visit regularly. We have been going Mama's for years. It used to be a gem but the pandemic has most likely caused ownership/management to cut corners. Ordered 2 taco salads that looked wilted and very meager. To make a long story short we were billed for salad dressings. Charge for salad dressing on salad? Tried to talk to manager and he said you should have seen that on the QR coded menu that was on our phones. Not! Anyways indicated to the manager that we would not be coming back.
