Almost but not quite. As y'all know, my determining factor for Tex mex is cheese enchilada rice and beans. That's what I ordered here. The white cheese they use is ok if not stringy and a little hard to avoid a mess. But that's ok if the rest works. But, it doesn't. The chili con carne on top looked like dog food. There was almost no reddish or brown you would expect and certainly not the rich brick red that distinguishes delicioso Tex mex from run of the mill. The refined beans passed but lacked much flavor and were a little soupy. The rice decent. My dinning partner tried the flautas and didn't get past the first one. They are a definite no. This was our first visit to this little restaurant. We loved the food - very tasty and not overly cheesy. The salsas were great - the Serrano and Habanero salsas have a real zing to it. DO NOT WASATE YOUR MONEY HERE! This place has a numerous health and safety concerns. When we got home there were two pieces of plastic in the burrito! When I called to let the manager know, he blamed me, and said it was my fault and laughed at me. I have never been more disrespected by an employee. The food was also cold, and bland. Also none of the employees had masks or gloves. You get charged more than what is listed on the menu when you do carry out orders. We used to go here all the time. Yep $3.50 and they have plenty of tequila. #2 the service is prompt and our server was attentive and easy to find. #3 the food of course! I ordered the Manuel's plate which is three enchiladas including chicken with tomatillo sauce inside and covered in a sour cream, beef with creamy tomato based sauce and cheese with beef sauce. Came here for dinner for the first time with a friend and did not leave disappointed! The food was sooo good and the margs where the best I have found here in the DFW! Perfectly strong! But what really made the experience worthwhile was the amazing staff! Our server was awesome, energetic and fun! I was waiting for him to break out a party! And the bartender was super fast about getting drinks out to us! I swear all I did was say what I wanted and the server would walk right up grab it and bring it, like they already knew and had it prepared and ready to go the moment I spoke! I rarely write reviews, but this place is beyond deserving of 5 stars. I would legitimately give them 10 stars if I could! When you dine in, your food is fresh & ready in nearly 5 minutes. The staff clearly works as a team and all members are very kind. When picking up, you can pretty much leave the second you place your order because it'll be ready for pickup in 10 minutes. The food is AMAZING. I cannot emphasize this enough. I highly recommend the chicken flautas and chipotle sauce. I have tons of tummy issues, but this place is my safe place to eat. I actually always feel better after a meal here whereas other places trigger those issues. I'll continue to come here EVERY time I want Mexican food. So many kudos to this restaurant! read more

I am partial to Mexican Martini's, and the bartender there makes a FANTASTIC one! We have been twice and didn't have to wait, around the 6 or 7pm time on Saturday nights Service is welcoming, friendly, fast, efficient, the place is clean and the menu is vast and varied, and they'll customize for you. Their chicken tortilla soup is delicious- very cilantro-y which I love. You can get the broth without chicken or the chicken. Queso can be customized for add-ins, chips and salsa great. I had their Chile Relleno with cheese, rice and beans and was happy. Hubby had nachos and tacos another time, Sis-in-Law had brisket tacos. Casa Mama has become our neighborhood "go-to" spot for Tex-Mex. the food and variety are great and service very good. We have not been there when a band is playing, but I remember the former restaurant in that spot and the sound acoustics were not "great!" My only criticism is that when I order flour instead of corn tortillas for my soft taco's they place a surcharge on the check - this is the only restaurant we go to that does this. Last time I asked the manager why, and he said the flour costs more than the corn. That's OK, but 50 cents each is a little bit of highway robbery, thus four stars vs five stars! read more

I visited the Casa Mama in East Plano years ago, as it was conveniently located. Walking in, I was welcomed and treated as if I was part of the family and a regular. The food is outstanding and fresh, every single person there is inviting and attentive, and the house margaritas are next level. All very reasonably priced. I then moved to the other side of Plano, and to my surprise the restaurant opened its second location here - all with the exact same top notch customer service and food. This place was the first date of my fiancee and I. It is also where I chose to propose to her due to the history and service we have there. They were accommodating to help me plan how I would propose, involving the musical guest that is there on weekends. Casa Mama is the place you want to go for amazing Mexican food, hospitality, great music, drinks, and more. They've won awards for their margaritas and food. Don't eat here. Staff is combative when there's a problem instead of helpful, margaritas have way too much sour mix, and I found hair in my salsa twice. They tried to tell me it was cilantro, but chopped cilantro is not thin and tight spiral curly. They argued with my mom instead of just getting a new salsa and then they said they'd foot the bill but started pulling everything off the table without asking if we wanted to finish our drinks. I have so many positive things to say about Casa Mama. They have a nice patio, it was a pleasant evening so we sat out there. They have live music also so that was a pleasant surprise. At Casa Mama happy hour is daily from open until 7 pm, with Saturday being the exception. And on Sundays happy hour lasts all day. We tried the peach margarita and the watermelon margarita ($3.50 each, during happy hour) and both flavors were delicious. Casa Mama is close to President George Bush Tollway on Preston Road. It's right next door to Valero and across the street from QT. I am a true fan of Casa Mama. The service is very attentive. Our server Alex was so nice and gave great recommendations. Casa Mama has sweet tea on the menu and I love them for that. The food was so flavorful, delicious and authentic. I ordered the Brisket Quesadilla, $9.50, from the Appetizer section of the menu. Brisket, spinach, mushrooms, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. It is so delicious and filling. We also tried the Chile Relleno which was also amazing. Been coming here for a few years now. Haven't had a single thing in the menu that I did not like. Service is always great, and food is delicious! If you come here, definitely eat the queso, and add brisket to it! Their enchiladas are all great, especially the chipotle sauce, or the sour cream one! Additionally the Sanchez parrillada is delicious. Up until trying the Mexican sausage at casa mama, I had never had it. I have to say that it is delicious and definitely worth it. We were extremely satisfied with our meals and our server! Some of the best damn Mexixan food around! I had the Chicken Flautas and an A la cart Brisket taco! My fiance had the Cheese Enchiladas! Most places don't make great chicken Flautas! These were simply too good not to brag! The beans and rice on par! The brisket taco was tender and juicy!! My Fiance's Enchiladas were off the hook! Pork was "plastic spoon" tender and got garnishes of fresh cabbage, diced crunchy onions and a squeeze of lime. Sublime broth. Sampler platter is a wonderful variety along with 2 salsas. Was there last weekend, found this place on Yelp! Browsed through the pictures and it seemed to look authentic. Was in the mode for "pozole" didn't see it on the menu but like any true authentic place it should be posted on a sign , took a chance and went anyways. And sure enough SCORE as you walk in through the front door there is a sign "Pozole served Sat & Sun's" The pozole soup was on point , fresh enough amount of meat and in a big bowl. Great serving. Forgot the price but it was worth it. Now service was meh , at times it felt like I was bothering them.
