Came here last night with my husband. I wanted to try some new Mexican restaurants around us and saw the good yelp reviews. This place is excellent. My husband branched out from his usual order and got chicken enchiladas with chipotle sauce and really liked it. My pork tacos came with well seasoned tender meat and onions, cilantro, and optional smoked chile sauce. Table salsa is also really fresh and delicious. I don't know how to describe it except that the food seemed restaurant quality (in presentation) but was home made and did not have the chain-store feel of On the Border or Glorias. I also think this place is better than La Comida, the other highly rated Mexican restaurant in the area. Lastly, I commend this place also for their service. The entire staff genuinely wants you to have a great time, love the food, and want to help with any small detail but is not overbearing. I would recommend this place to take a date since you can be sure the food and service will be solid. read more

We have lived in North Dallas for a long time and never stopped in until today. The prices were terrific and so was the food. The restaurant was super clean and the bathroom was spotless. The staff was attentive and the food was clearly homemade and not artificial. We had the guacamole appetizer made at the table followed by enchiladas and crispy tacos. This was a great value for the quality and experience. We regret not having tried it sooner.....but we will be back. Saw folks from all types of backgrounds enjoying the food from church goers, families, young couples, seniors to young families. Ok so the food is mostly pretty good. I come primarily for the margaritas and I truly enjoy their manager Adrian he always greets myself and my fiancé at the front door and makes us feel truly welcome! My father always said what makes a good Mexican restaurant is their chips and salsa and theirs is fantastic as well! I come here as often as I can. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is always excellent and the staff is excellent. I always get the Chipotle Enchiladas, it's my go to dish. My wife always subtracts items from the chicken dish she gets and they always get it correct. Very laid back atmosphere with people who are very friendly. read more

I ordered Manuel's enchiladas. It came with 3. Cheese, beef, and chicken. The cheese enchilada was cold. The chicken enchilada was mushy and tasteless. I did not try the beef enchilada at this point. I set my plate aside and waited for my boyfriend to eat his meal. He had the fajitas and thought they were good. I could have given a better rating but here is where the dinner went wrong. The server came to the table and looked at my plate and asked if anything was wrong. I said yes and told him my issues with the food. He proceeded to argue with me and tell me they cook the food different there. He stated they dip the tortillas in oil and it makes them soogy and they are supposed to be that way. I informed him that I make enchiladas at home and they do not get soggy like that from oil. They tasted old. He still argued and I asked if he had a manager. He said no and continued arguing. I once again asked if he had a manager. He finally said yes and went and got another man. This man (no one gave names) told me the server told him we had a language barrier and he was trying to offer me something else. He spoke fluent English and never offered me something. The supposed manager then started to argue about his server not speaking English well. I gave up and shut up. Went home with no dinner. Would not suggest this place because any issues you may have will not be resolved read more

It's good. Solid mexican staples and some tex mex varients. Fresh tortillas, friendly and helpful service, food comes out lightning fast. Good selection of taps and drinks. Perhaps not one thing stands out but on the whole they deliver on fundamentals with a smile. Salsa is spicy and wholesome and the enchiladas mexicana were tasty. Oh my gosh! Where do I start? I've never had "plain ordinary beans" that were this tasty! My late mother used to make pinto beans in a big pot and Casa Mamas reminded me of those. Taste and texture--way beyond the standard fare. My husband hates going to a Mexican restaurant and getting rice and beans but these were excellent! Now to the main dish. My husband had the Diego enchiladas, filled with pulled pork. He rarely says that a meal was excellent but he said it here. I had Manuel's enchiladas with 1 sour cream, 1 beef and 1 cheese. They weren't at all like what I've had in the past at other restaurants. The tortillas were good, the filling was good...and those crazy good beans and rice! Our server was on top of it. Very nice and catered to our needs. Great service. It was a little slow at first because we were there at the slow time of the day, and they had 1 server and 1 cook for everyone. But it ( the service) picked up quickly. The ambiance was more casual, with tv screens tuned to sports. There's a bar, which I thought it was funny that their menu didn't mention the alcoholic beverages. They have an extensive menu and I look forward to returning for another meal. Brunch here was outstanding. John was our server and he was both patient and informative about the menu options. We had a mix of traditional Mexican meals. I had huevos con chorizo y papas and it was one of the best I have had. I think it's hard to make a dish like this bad and it is even harder to make it memorable. Casa Mama made it memorably. The spies were balanced and all of the ingredients were cooked to perfection. I can't say enough how great John's service was. He was attentive but not overbearing. This was truly an enjoyable meal. Came here for dinner on a friday night and place was pretty empty, which was surprising especially right around 8 o clock. That didn't deter me though, if anything better for me! I got Manuel's enchilada plate. The sour cream enchilada was exactly what I had a taste for, and the cheese and chicken were equally delish. The salsa is really good, and I like that they serve it in tiny separate containers, so no one spreads cooties. ;p The service was great, salsa refills were prompt as were water and food delivery. Had the melon margarita with a sugar rim and was not disappointed. Strong enough but still tasty. Platters were big, neither me nor my companion could finish ours. And really well priced at only 9.50, considering we were going to go somewhere that was $11+ and probably wouldn't have been as good. They have happy hour as well but not sure what time. All in all I'm glad I stumbled upon this place on Yelp. There are several other things on the menu I've got my eye on and will definitely be back!!! read more

Finally got to visit Casa Mama after I have been driving by for months. Food- The food was delicious. The queso blanco was so creamy, I highly suggest you try it. My husband had a combination enchiladas plate which was very good. I had brisket tacos which were great. Drinks- The margaritas were very good for the price. Honestly, they have the BEST happy hour. We tried several margaritas swirl...mango...regular, and even the regular frozen were good. Service- I cannot say enough good things about the service. Our waiter Joe was great, and so welcoming. One thing that stood out the most was the owner literally checks on every table. For me, that means a lot. There is also a patio when the weather is nice. The inside of the restaurant is large and decorated very nicely. We will definitely be back. read more

Oh my lord gimme more. It's so rare for me to give out five stars but I have to say, Casa Mama has left me with literally no complaints. Not one! Fantastic food and AMAZING service. Every person on the staff was extremely attentive and seemed to genuinely want us to have a great time here. My husband got ordered the beef fajitas but our sever suggested he try the fajita carne asada instead. Alllllll night he kept commenting how tender the beef was and all I kept thinking was "yeah I mean sure it's steak" but when he was finished with his meal I snuck his left over beef and OH. MY. LORD. seriously some of the most tender beef I've ever eaten. Including filet. I mean. Wow. I ordered the Adrian which is two cheese enchiladas with fajita beef on top. It was delicious. The cheese inside was creamy and I changed the sauce to the verde tomatillo sauce. It was sweet tangy and not hot, just the perfect amount of spice for a great flavor. What can I say? The queso is creamy, the service is phenomenal, and the food is fantastic. We will definitely be back and bring all of our friends. read more

My first time to eat here with a party of 7. I was so disappointed. We had reservations, but still had to wait 25 minutes for our table. The restaurant wasn't full, so not sure why. Our service was extremely SLOW. I mean snail slow. My husband and I ordered Fajitas for Two. When we FINALLY got them, it was Fajitas for ONE. Another in our party ordered a Chalupa with a side of rice. He never received the rice. Our second order of Fajitas arrived AFTER the bill came. The rice never came, even though it was promised several times. The server never came to check on us, and we never saw the manager. As I said, there were plenty of empty tables on a Friday night, so not sure their problem. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in the Metroplex. Choose another! read more

I had really high hopes for this place and was super let down. I ordered a burito and asked for chicken instead of beef. They charged me $2.50 without letting me know. There was supposed to be guacamole and sour cream in the burrito, there was nothing. I ordered one flauta, to see how they were here. They gave me a taquito(which seems to happen a lot out here) and charged me $2.50 after telling me it would be $1.50. In total I paid $15 for a medium sized, completely dry burrito with barely any meat and a taquito. Definitely does not seem worth it to me and I wont be coming back. We went here on the recommendation from yelp for Cinco de Mayo. I went here early right after the lunch hour so I thought. Walked in to meet up with my friend and noticed that something was missing. The service was slow due to them being short staffed. People kept coming in and the line was getting longer. At one point I got sad for them because they were going to get bum rushed throughout the entire day with only 2 waiters tending the entire restaurant. On the food note... It was very delicious. My friend had the tilapia, and I had the chicken fajitas. I didn't taste his tilapia so I can't give you a yes or no on the dish but it did look good. My fajitas were everything that I needed to soak up the margaritas. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the vegetables were enough to put inside the tortilla. I had the house margarita and my friend ordered the top shelf margarita. We also ordered the churros for dessert. I thought it would have been one long churro but it was cut up into individual pieces. The filling was nice and warm and gooey. Very rich we ate almost all of them just sitting there. Overall I would come back here just to see if service would be better outside of a holiday. read more

I learned never to underestimate Cinco de Mayo celebrations. After we were told of a couple hour wait at another popular Tex-Mex location, we popped over here to our plan B. When I called Casa Mama to make sure there wasn't too crazy of a wait, the staff happily put our party of six on their list so when we showed up 20 minutes later, we were seated pretty fast. Awesome, cause I was ready to go anywhere BUT Mexican food after the craziness of May 5th. They even had a mariachi come in and play the whole time. Though it was really fun, I could hardly hear what anyone was saying over the music. Their happy hour margaritas are only $3.50 for frozen and I think another quarter or two quarters more for on the rocks. Plenty of cheap beers and sangrias as well! The margarita was delicious and if my husband was driving me home I totally would have had more. Safe driving over here! Parking didn't seem to be an issue since it's located in a strip mall. Very deceiving from the outside but they have a cute little patio on the side of the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was when we walked in! Food was pretty good too - our table mainly got the Carne Asada and myself the beef fajitas. Yum! I am a sucker for chips and salsa and theirs were really good.
