Arguably the best chai tea latte I have had! Between errands in the morning I decided to pop in for a quick lunch at C'est Si Bon. I was caught off guard a bit when I realized how popular the restaurant is with a line out the door! I didn't have to wait long for my food though, maybe 10min, which IMO is a win. :) I got the roast beef sandwich with provolone on baguette. The bread is SO fresh! The smallest size was more than a good serving size for lunch but I literally inhaled the whole thing. It was THAT good. And back to the chai latte of dreams!!! After receiving my drink I walked over to the sugar counter where they have an awesome house blend of spices that you can sprinkle over the top of your cup. The latte was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. All the fragrant notes of a Chai Tea latte that you love but not overbearing or bitter at all. Can't wait to take the family next time. Always good, been going here for 15 years. It gets busy during lunch time so expect a wait but they run an overall very efficient operation. The food is noticeably fresh, service is great, and the price...well it's reasonable when you consider the zip code. Honestly don't have any complaints and never have. They run a model operation and if you happen to be passing by you should check it out. The ambiance is also a lot better since the shopping center remodeled. Outdoor seating is the way to go. Oh and the baguettes and pies rock - great for a potluck or to make a meal at home. read more

I was craving a turkey sandwich. My typical sandwich spot was closed today, so I thought lets give C'est Si Bon another go. I mean they have lines out the door for a reason. Sandwich was great. No chinzing on the meat today. Not sure what happened last time, but this Sandwich was perfectly portioned. I see you C'est Si Bon. I'll be back for more then that crowd pleasing baguette. Great bakery! Service was fast and helpful as well. But most importantly, the food. The pumpkin pie was not overly sweet and you really get to enjoy the pumpkin flavor with the right amount of sugar to enhance all the spices. Apple Almond tart very light and flaky. Not super dense like most others I've tried. The BEST item by far is the baguette! Crispy crust with a light airy center. The best French baguette I've ever had and I will definitely be back for more. If you go, DO NOT get just one. You'll regret not getting two! Enjoy! read more

To get an accurate review of C'est Si Bon is to look at three components of the establishment: the bakery, the location, and the service. Let's start with the best part: The bakery. This is a very authentic French bakery with a huge variety of pastries and breads. Those who work in this section of the business do a fantastic job and in my eyes earn a A+. The service is complicated. Although the employees are friendly and well-trained, the system is at fault. To order, you must stand behind a sign and wait for someone to say, "Next?" Then you approach the front counter and order. The problem is people walk right in front of you as you approach the front and cut in line in front of you. It forces you to confront others and say, "I was first." I had to do this with two women you rudely walked around the line, jumped in front of everyone by ignoring the line. I ordered one item for here and one to go. She gave me both items in bags. I had to wait in line to ask for a plate, then I had to ask for a fork and knife. They ran out and had to restock the forks. I went to another spot in the restaurant for a napkin and sugar for my latte. More people, more excuse me, etc. We had to sit outside at a dirty table, for I had to wipe it down andremove some clothing someone had left there. It was a huge ordeal to find a place to sit and enjoy such great pastries. Service gets a C- It is a large place inside, but no chairs and no table inside. There is only a counter with stools. This makes it impossible for a handicapped person to sit in a chair inside the bakery. If you go outside, you must clean your own tables. I noticed that there were no handicapped access ramps or parking anywhere around the bakery. You must walk from the business to the right around the corner. I'm not sure if that is legal but the owner said it is. The bathrooms are outside. I waited with someone else for the key to be returned. We waited and waited. I mentioned it to the employees that we had been waiting a long time, and I pounded on the door,and there was no answer. I resolved to use the women's restroom. The location for me was an F. My suggestion is to visit Moulin and see how to create a patron friendly location to make the whole experience a better one. Create a nicer environment to enjoy such a great place. read more

This is a great stop for a sandwich, salad, bakery item, or specialty drink. Their bread is fresh and fabulous! There is limited parking (but public parking nearby if you can't find a spot). The line starts outside and you wait for an employee, behind the counter, to call up the next person. Your order is circled on a bag (photo attached). I love this idea so it comes out exactly as you requested. Bakery items and drinks are ordered with an array of choices. We had the turkey sandwich on a croissant (10/10). I loved the fact your sandwich comes cut in half with EACH half wrapped separately- such a great idea! We also had a slice of carrot cake (moist and full of flavor 10/10) and their chocolate mousse bomb cake (creamy smooth 10/10). Seating is outside only with an inviting ambiance of calmness and fresh air. There is also seating behind by a gorgeously painted wall mural. This was an incredible first visit that will draw me back again. read more

I love it here, every time. Staff is fantastic. Food is amazing. You can't beat the prices. They have my favorite iced tea. There is more of a local and mature demographic here, mostly. I love a good bakery/coffee shop combo. The pastries here are delicious and fresh. I got the cinnamon twist, which is one of their most popular and it was great. They are known for their chai tea latte - which is made from their powder in house and you can choose to add a shot of espresso for that extra caffeine. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor area is really nice on a warm day. The service was quick and fast as well. read more

I returned to C'est Si Bon with my wife and we shared a sandwich for lunch: a 12 inch with curry chicken on a fresh baguette, with provolone, tomato, cucumber, lettuce and dijon mustard. It was a very filling sandwich and delicious. It was messy too, which I liked. The curry chicken was very well prepared and there was plenty of it. The outdoor area is a really nice place to have the sandwich with a pleasant ambiance, especially on such a beautiful day. Indoors is more hustle and bustle, with people milling about waiting for their order. The reason for the 4 vs. 5 star is the staff on this visit were really brusque. We were served by a woman when it wasn't busy (no one was behind us) and she ticked the boxes on the bag, took the payment and turned away from us and the counter abruptly without acknowledging us. It's great food so I would return but I won't expect much next time on the service side of things. read more

Blonde girl calling out names for order pick up today (wed oct 29) is hurting your business. When receiving my sandwich I kindly asked if I could buy a cookie as well. Before I could even finish she rudely blurted "you'll have to wait in the line again" and points to order line. She had been rude to others as well. Very cold and annoyed at everyone. Clearly dealing with human customers is very stressful to her. Maybe have her work in the back. Or find a job which requires no interaction with people. I've bought stuff before at pick up without rude (or maybe just lazy) employee response. It's ok to be kind to your customer and be grateful for their business. I visited this bakery yesterday. The bakery is in a nice location in Newport Beach. The exterior of the building is nice The bakery closes at 4:30. We arrived late and realized there was hardly any pastries left. The chocolate croissant we ordered tasted excellent. The iced latte was good as well. However, I was dissapointed that this bakery is not handicapped friendly. There is not any handicapped parking in front of the bakery. In addition, there is not a ramp in front of the bakery for easy access. There is also no low level chairs inside the bakery, only stools. If you walk with a cane, you have to site outside. read more

Sadly when we went to pick up the sandwiches we ordered we didn't take them out of the bag to check. After driving home (25 minutes) I opened the bag to find someone else's order inside. I'm very disappointed because every time we've come the sandwiches have been great! The incorrect order I received cost much less than I paid for my order. Tried this place twice after a Pilates class. Only came back because the iced dirty chai latte was okay and it's the closest coffee shop. After the second visit I decided to no longer return. Most of the male employees have the worst customer service personality. Kind of like if you're bothering them if you ask something about the menu. I get being busy, but the line wasn't long. Some of the girls were welcoming to customers. So the male employees should really take note. Their almond croissant was not good. It was really dry and nothing compared to bag of cakes. Location was convenient but I'd rather drive 5 min and get a warm welcoming in the morning. Not what ever this is was. read more

If you're not good at parking your car in a tight spot with people that are clueless could be frustrating, but it's definitely worth going. They have a lot of options. We saw the huge line on a Saturday at noon - summer about to blossom - and we were concerned that we would never make it through the line and actually get any food. We were reassured by our dear friends that in fact, this place is highly efficient and used to long lines, big crowds and serving everyone. we endured and indeed the line moved quickly. Before we knew it, Jorge was taking our sandwich and coffee order and we paid. We went into an ample waiting area in which other Newport Beach families and non-Newport Beach residents. We were waiting patiently as music pumped and the vibes were good. Indeed our order was processed quickly and we got our to go lunch. Prices were good enough modern age pricing. With a smile on her face and a coffee in hand, we exited this pleasant busy rock 'n' roll café, jumped into our cars and sped off to the beach. The sandwich on the croissant was amazing. This lil gem is a great find and I wasn't surprised so see a lot of people in line on a mid Sunday morning. It's in a little shopping strip with limited parking yet I always saw a space open. You could smell the baguettes freshly baked. I came here for a sando and coffee but everything looked amazing. One thing I really appreciated was that their sandwiches come with sprouts and you don't see that too often anymore! There is just something about sprouts on a sandwich that locks in the flavor and makes it tases so fresh. I got black ham with provolone and lettuce/cucumbers. You can select whatever you like on it including the condiments. Simple yet effective with quality ingredients. And it was so good. What a great lil find. Check them out if you're close by. The food came out pretty quick and the service was excellent. There was seating outside and the weather was perfect making for a great place after a day on the water for a nice snack and or coffee. This is hands down the best bakery in Newport! Paul has truly made it the top local spot. Everything here is exceptional, from their iced dirty chai lattes to their fresh croissants and sandwiches. Their freshly baked peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies are amazing. The bomb cake is always delicious, and I love it when they create personalized sugar cookies for each holiday. The service is outstanding--shout out to Sophia, Zoe, and Jorge! Don't let the line deter you; they move quickly, so it's worth the wait. I also appreciate the option to order your sandwich ahead of time during the week for easy pick-up, which really saves time. We had a nice breakfast that was reasonably priced on the patio. Service: Order at the counter, they will give you a pager when your order is ready for you to pick up. After ordering a $14 sandwich, I simply asked for the smallest tiny little sample taste of their roast beef. I said she could give me a piece the size of a quarter. She said somebody in the back said no. I asked to speak to the person in the back. An older bearded man appeared, who seemed to be in charge. He explained he could not give me the quarter size sample of roast beef because all the samples for the sandwiches are pre-sized. He made a big deal out of it. He finally gave me the tiny piece of roast beef. I'll never go back there again. Bad business practice. And the roast beef was very dry. read more

Excellent French Bakery! Discovered this place after eating at a local Costa Mesa Deli (Globe) and being amazed by their baguettes! The source - C'est Si! I have made a few visits now. See service is excellent and although there seems to always be a line, it moves. Great system for how they take and process orders. Most croissants and breads come out of the back warm, nothing better than warm bread! Lots of desserts to select from as well. Looking for a sandwich or salad for lunch? This is your place. We have tried a few sandwiches, fresh on fresh bread. Nice choices. Coffee drinks are wonderful. Brought home two slices of pumpkin pie, looked so pretty and tasted amazing! Hubby asked if I bought a whole pie (they sell whole pies!) and I was wishing I had too! Prices are very reasonable especially for the quality and location! Parking is ample and I had had no issues finding a spot each time I have visited. Most take their orders to go and are in and out quickly. Excellent business. The baguette is sooooo good - and sandwiches are fresh, filled and delicious. Preferred Turkey over ham but the chicken curry and tarragon are popular! Always get mustard & balsamic vin. I stood at the case for several minutes with no acknowledgment. I finally walked over to the nearest employee (her name was Lucy) who was finishing up with a customer at the register right next to the butter section. I politely asked if she could help me when she was free. She looked at me, nodded, and said she would. Then proceeded to assist every customer who lined up behind that original customer without once glancing back in my direction. In fact, I had enough time to walk to the bakery, go through the entire gift card situation as mentioned above, and return to the butter section, and Lucy still hadn't looked over. I left without the butter. Moulin used to have fantastic service. I don't know where those regulars went, but two strikes in one visit, with two different employees, is hard to brush off.

I recently visited C'est Si Bon Bakery, and it's safe to say that this place is always bustling with customers. I've been coming here for over 20 years. The constant line of patrons is a testament to the popularity of this bakery. However, due to its counter-order system and lack of seating, finding a place to sit can be quite challenging, especially now after the pandemic, there is no inside seating beyond a small counter. On the positive side, they offer a great selection of pastries, and I particularly enjoyed their black iced tea. Some people rave about their curry sandwich, although it personally didn't suit my taste. However, if you're into a variety of meats, they have a fantastic selection to choose from. The bakery also offers a lovely patio area where you can sit and enjoy your treats on a sunny day. One notable aspect of this place is the diverse crowd it attracts. From elitist Newport Beach yacht owners to bayside service workers, passerby's, and bike groups, everyone seems to stop by for a quick snack, thanks to its convenient location near PCH. Okay, Mixed Feelings about this place. The food is great, so I can't complain about it. The sandwiches for lunch are very good and cheap. Baguettes and Croissants are very good and fresh. I haven't had many of the sweets though, I manly stop in their from lunch because I work near the place. HOWEVER. Here's the big problem. The employees are the RUDEST people I have ever met! It's nuts. They really carry the French attitude into this store and it's annoying. My first time there some indy-rock kid (who was probably up till 2 in the morning because his crappy band was playing a show for 4 people at some lame coffee shop) asked me "Is she helping you..OR WHAT?" with a total crappy attitude. A couple of times when my sandwich was ready, they literally "tossed" it onto the counter carelessly, with total "here you go asshole" type attitude. The girls are pretty uninterested in their jobs as well. I feel like I'm bothering them when I order. It's just bizarre. It wouldn't kill them to smile. And I realize at a bakery you need to get there early, so I understand they may be a little tired, but jeez, put on some makeup, grab some coffee, AND PUT ON A FREAKING BRA before you come to work! All the girls look like they partied all night, woke up in a dumpster, and just walked straight to work. They just look beat. Anyway, I realize I'm being harsh, but I've been there maybe 10 times, and every time I've had a bad "customer service" experience. I'd complain to a manager if I could find one, but everyone in there looks like their 21 years old, so i don't know who the manager is. I had an extremely disappointing experience at C'est Si Bon today. I have been here many times before and have always had positive experiences, which is why I was excited to come in. I actually really like this place, the food and coffee are very good, but unfortunately the service today completely changed my impression. I asked about the non-dairy milk options, which one would foam best, and which brands they carried. The employee helping me, who later said she was the manager, seemed visibly annoyed, rolled her eyes and said she didn't know before going to check. That's a very basic question at a coffee shop, especially for someone identifying herself as the manager. I then ordered a croissant and coffee. When my coffee was ready, my croissant had been forgotten. When I brought it up, I was initially told to step back in line while they made other drinks, even though I had already waited in line and ordered it. Shortly after she asked another employee to ring me up for the croissant. That second employee was also extremely rude and dismissive. She seemed eager to get rid of me as quickly as possible, while I watched her smile and interact warmly with other customers. The contrast was very noticeable and made me feel like I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. When I explained that I had always liked the establishment but felt really disappointed by how I was being treated, there was no empathy. The response was essentially, "I'm sorry you feel that way, but we're understaffed." Being understaffed is not an excuse for treating customers this way. It's disappointing because I genuinely think the food and coffee here are very good, but after this experience, I will not be returning. read more

After several weeks of a massive roast beef sandwich craving that Arby's certainly wouldn't cure, a friend told me to go check out this place. When I first pulled up, I wasn't really sure. The parking lot was completely packed and there was a line out the door. While that usually indicates good food, it also usually means a long line and I was time crunched. My craving won out and I decided to try it. You walk up and the staff grabs a white paper bag (if you don't already have one, like I didn't) where they circle your order. I had a roast beef sandwich with cheddar with sprouts, tomatoes and cucumbers on a baguette. They take the bag and hand it off to the sandwich makers. Off to the checkout, where I also grabbed a chocolate croissant and my chai. Even though I was having my roast beef, I was still kinda skeptical. It really has the whole coffeehouse thing going for it, not really the place for sandwiches. Then I had a bite. Oh, I still remember that bite. Really. It was that good. This sandwich completely conquered my craving. I had a six inch, which was more than enough, especially with the croissant. Which, by the way, was also delectable. In Newport Beach, where franchised companies and big-name brands are all-too-celebrated, you can take pride in supporting C'est Si Bon bakery, a unique, family-owned French patisserie and sandwich house. My experience with the C'est Si Bon menu is about as comprehensive as it gets. I can agree that the more Yelp-worthy items listed in other reviews are fantastic: the fresh baguettes, the chicken curry salad, the chocolate croissant, etc. Some things that you may not have tried that I would highly recommend: - The raspberry croissant (the jam inside is delicious!) - The raisin brioche (ask an employee to run it through the toaster before you eat it) - The chai tea latte - The whole wheat croissant (a nutty-tasting version of the regular croissant) - The jalapeno and cheese bread (this is a perfect thing to bring to a party - it has so much flavor!) - I have NEVER encountered such delicious scones; the raspberry and the blueberry are the best in my opinion. I cannot imagine ever passing through Newport and not visiting C'est Si Bon at least a few times. It never fails to satisfy. And if you are disappointed with the service on occasion, be sure to tell the owner. No bad attitude should detract from the pleasant and uniquely French experience of C'est Si Bon Bakery. read more

Their baguette is light, extremely tasty and makes their sandwich unique in Orange County. Employees are lacking energy, some of them needs to be "pushed" to take your order, maybe they partied too hard night before (I mean, it was Sunday early afternoon) but some of them were half a sleep taking our orders. They were not rude or unhelpful just not too fired up to help you out or take your order in timely fashion. Highly recommending their Sandwiches and few cookies available at the counter. The only reason why I am not giving five stars is that energy and charisma of C'est Si Bon employees that was "missing in action". They even have a rack of bread that tells you what time it got out of the oven.. totally in love with this bakery- the smell even reminds me of my trip to Paris last summer when I was walking down the streets in the morning into a crowded bakery to pick up a baguette. I miss working around the corner from here because I would love to go as often as I could. From their turkey avocado sandwhiches on a fresh roll to their salads, muffins and lattes. They have a great variety of French cheeses and pasteries to choose from. The parking lot is pretty tight, but it is worth even parking across the streat for a quick few minutes to pick up a sandwhich, salad, or whatever your heart may desire. I could not believe it. We were driving all the way from LA to stop by enjoy our favorite sandwiches and this time experience was literally almost sucks! The shorter young girl darker hair, bulky build in Capri darker pants last Wednesday afternoon , while I was waiting to pick up our sandwiches gave me a dirty look for no reason , instead of smile and being friendly. Also, when I got home I found disgustingly terrible that I found short 2 inches black straight hair. That's gross! We loved company for years and years for fresh quality and now what happened? The young stuff getting obnoxious, unsanitary hair inside the sandwich (I almost threw up) and could not eat anymore! Was very disappointed. I don't recommend. First the guy taking the order was rude, lazy, and impatient. In the middle of our order he walked off and started talking to a person turning in a application as if we were never there. In the end our sandwich was made incorrectly and bland, the pecan tart was decent but dry, the croissant was mediocre, the pastries looked like they were outsourced so I didn't buy, the " French baguette" was nothing close to a true French baguette (I lived in france) and the service was horrible. I have had better pastries and baguettes from the grocery store. This place is very Americanized and overpriced for the quality and service. read more

I've been coming here for about 12 years now. Food has always been consistent. the build-your-own-sandwich is great and their ingredients are always fresh. Chocolate croissants are my FAVORITE. I honestly love this place, but my goodness, their service isn't great at all. The staff is clueless and they are far from attentive. EXAMPLE: 1 customer being helped, 1 person in line (me) and 3 total people behind the counter. Took them over 5 minutes to help me. No reason for the delay. When all you want sometimes is a coffee in the morning, this is quite frustrating. If the service keeps up (or rather, stays awful), I'll find a new place on my morning route. read more

You cannot deny their food. It's really good. I highly recommend their croissant sandwiches, probably the best I've had. But...I dislike their service so much I'm dinging them 2 stars. It seems like all the employees fell out of an American Apparel billboard and wandered into the store hungover. It's the type of place where you feel bad for ordering, like your bugging the servers. I came in for a salad and a coffee and all I found was 7-11 style salads (i.e., ones that are pre-packaged and in an open fridge). The salad itself was sub-par and the coffee was 146th street Harlem bodega at best. I didn't try their baked goods but they looked awfully tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive and the set up was nice. I just wasn't overwhelmed from what I got. There wasn't much in the area to choose from but it's possible I will try this place again. WOW! thats all i can say. they have the best croisants i have ever had and when you make a ham and cheese crois it is like a little taste of heaven. you have to go around 9:00 AM that is when they have fresh crois rite out of the oven. the rasberry crois are to die for. they have one of the nicest staff i have ever been around. great place to go hang out and take your kids for some hot chocolates made by a guy name efrain. he makes the best coffee drinks there. read more

Awesome baguettes! of course everyone else has made that apparent. I used to work for Enterprise rent a car around the corner and hit this spot for lunch religiously. Tasty food, but the downsides are that the sandwiches are freaking pricey! Pastries are awesome and the bread is phenomenal. Yes, the crowds can be a bit long, and it's pretty hard to get through to them on the phone if I'm trying to place a take-out order. We went there for lunch. I had the chicken tarragon sandwich, which was really good. My husband had the chicken curry sandwich (yes, he does love those). The best part is the baguette.
