The food was amazing and the service was fantastic! My family and I loved the vibe and atmosphere of our dining experience. It's not too formal but it's a nicer place to go to have a delicious meal. My mom's salmon was cooked perfectly and my dad and I ordered the prime rib which was really good too. Their spinach artichoke dip is a great appetizer and our meals came with a Caesar salad and a croissant bun. The bun was so delicious. I would order a bunch of them if I didn't live far from Fort Worth. We had a red velvet cake for dinner but it was just ok. We frequent Charleston's quite a bit with no complaints. Today was disappointing. Initial drinks (Coke & Root Beer) were not up to par. Waited until part of the food came out before we could even request something different. Hubby's salad did not come with the dressing he requested but he just ate it anyway. His entree came while I waited on my entree of chicken club salad. Finally received my food after watching the person take it to another table. I just had a great dinner here tonight! It was my first time and I plan to definitely come back. Just a heads up, they don't take reservations on the weekends. The interior is dimly light and would make for a nice date night spot but the ambience is thrown off by the slightly loud music and noise level of family diners. It didn't bother me as I had no expectations coming in. The bar is located off to the side separate from the main dining area. As for the food, we started off with the Dynamite shrimp. It was good but nothing to rave about to be honest. I had to get the prime rib. The options are either 10 or 14 oz and comes with a baked potato and salad, Caesar or house. The prime rib was delicious. Tender and perfect with with au jus. Baked potato was perfectly loaded with bacon, cheese, and sour cream. Even the house salad was delicious with bacon, eggs, and a croissant! And since it was a special dinner, we had to order dessert even though we really didn't have room in our stomachs. I chose the bread pudding because I'm a sucker for it. Leave room for this dessert and even if you don't have room for it, get it anyway! It was served hot with the most decadent Grand Mariner custard cream sauce. One of the best bread puddings I've ever had! Our server was awesome and I enjoyed the service from her as well as everyone who came to drop off drinks and food. We were checked in on often and interacted with throughout our meal. I had a corned beef sandwich and the only thing I would change is next time have them add some fresh sliced Jalapeno. Though it's been since October 2022 we still have it in our go-to list. We love the service, the easy free parking and the food is clearly consistently good. This restaurant has a plenty of tables but can be a wait at peak times. The food is good. I usually order one of the soup and sandwich plates or salad and soup. It's kind of like a Houston's in vibe but not nearly as good to me. People were nice, it gets busy for a reason so some people like it. I thought service was friendly but slow. Wasn't crazy busy either. But if my fries are cold it's because they sat there until my server got them to me. My coworkers and I now work from home and have made Charlestons our luncheon spot! Why? Both the food and service are great! We make it a little after they open, we're able to get seated and order our food in no time. Lunch crowd has varied but it's never too loud where our group of 7-13 can't hear each other, so it's perfect. Some have their go to favorites and others take a chance on the daily specials, no one has ever complained or left unsatisfied. My favorite part may or may not be the HUGE dessert I'm sure to order to go every time we meet! No pictures, as when dining with the team we keep our phones tucked away. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Worth. Easy to get to, plenty of parking and often a short wait even when they are busy. For us this is often a special occasion place but we do come here 'just because' at times. My favorite is the pork chop dinner. The chops are about an inch and a half thick and grilled to perfection. The vegetables compliment to meal so well. My husband swears by their CFS. They often have tempting fish specials as well. I've had the carrot cake once and found it to be very rich. We usually dine here early afternoon, and never had a bad experience. This time our arrival was much later than usual. The waiter had a stank attitude! Then the appetizer came out burnt. There was no apology. In fact, there was more attitude! A replacement appetizer came out, and this one was half done. By now, our food should have been out. It took forever to get Chicken Fried Steak, and a Ceasar Salad with Salmon (45 minutes) WTH!!! I've been a Charleston's customer for 20+ years, and NEVER have I had such an awful experience!!!!!!!!!! Fort Worth's moniker is "Cowtown" and there are a lot of steakhouses here. Charleston's is one of my favorites. I've been dining here about 6 times a year for almost 20 years (goodness, that sounds like a long time!) Order the filet mignon with a side of asparagus in butter - dining heaven! They do change the house red wines a lot (I been going there since theirs was Blsckstone) but it (their choice) always pairs well with the food. As many times as I've visited this favorite restaurant of mine I decided it's about time I review it. On this particular day I shared the Flatbread pizza adding fresh jalapenos. The Flatbread is a go-to for me but today was even better than I've grown accustomed to. I then had the soup and salad which includes the soup of the day or baked potato soup with either a Ceasar or house salad. The baked potato soup is the best I've had in the metroplex. Gumbo was the soup of the day and I hadn't tried it. Glad I did! Another win - delicious with just enough bite. It had okra which is a must in gumbo in my opinion. I always go with the house salad adding green onions. Salads come with a croissant which is to die for. Overall you can't go wrong with any item you select here. It's consistently great! Do yourself a favor and have the key lime pie for dessert. The perfect margarita is also a must. Service is top notch too! You'll never have an empty beverage glass at Charleston's. Our daughter introduced us to Charleston's for Father's Day lunch. We were seated within a reasonable amount of time despite an enormous crowd. When I ordered the grilled fish of the day, the waiter didn't think to add that it came with a mango chutney topping, and I didn't think to ask. It happens that I'm highly allergic to mango. When my husband flagged a passing manager, she apologetically whisked the dish away and had the kitchen prepare a whole new plate. It was an innocent mistake, for which I was partly responsible for not alerting the staff to my allergy. Everyone treated us with kindness and respect, and went to great lengths to make sure we could enjoy our meal safely. It was a good introduction to this restaurant and I'm sure we will visit there again. (The food was delicious, by the way.) read more
