Papaya salad (Lao style)
Tammy N.

We got the papaya salad (Lao style) and boat noodle soup. This was one of the best boat noodles soups I've had! I love that they include tendon and a massive piece of tripe, and they're generous with the meat portion overall too. I had to give some of the meat to my boyfriend since there was a lot of it, but no complaints here. The soup was well balanced. It had a slight sweetness to it and the spice level was perfect. I got level 8 and it definitely had a kick, but it didn't overpower the dish. The papaya salad was great and reasonably priced compared to other places I've been to. The servers were very friendly. They were pretty busy but they still checked up on us and refilled our waters. Parking is tough since it's street parking only. I think this place is worth the effort though!

Our favorite place for a bowl of noodles. Boat noodles for him and Khao Soi for me. We've tried other dishes but always gravitate for the noodles as they're comforting. The staff is super friendly, nice and helpful. They'll bring anything you need pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a whole in the wall so doesn't have lots of charm :-) but it gets the job done when craving noodles and a familiar face.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is a bit difficult, but worth it for a good Khao Soi.

Delicious food. Good service. Good drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good ambiance but a little hot on a summer day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That's all you need to know. Come here and try. Thanks!

After exploring the Aquarium of the Pacific with my friends, we were absolutely starving- so we found this hole in the wall. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Crispy Pork Belly, and the Mango Sticky rice. All items were delicious, espically the Chicken Pad Thai. The food came out quickly and the quality was authentic. The worker was also super friendly, and let us split the bill into 3- which I thought was incredible, because other places don't allow that. If you're in Long Beach, I would recommend this place. I'm not even a local, but I would drive 40 mins to come eat here.

After recently being in Thailand, we had a craving for Thai food. This place definitely has it going on.. Every dish we tried was excellent, we had fried shrimp appetizer, the papaya salad and whole fried trout. So so good! The service was impeccable, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is quaint[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and overall a wonderful experience. We took home mango sticky rice.. and that was just perfect!

Charm Siam was so delicious! Friendly, fast service. Bonus points for the freshest coconut water ever. Highly recommend.

I've had a lot of Thai food in my life and I can confidently say that their Pad See Ew is among some of the best that I've tried. It was cooked fresh, the tofu was crispy, and the noodles were bouncy. The flavors were balanced as well. Super delicious.

I came here on a Monday evening to get dinner with some friends and had such a good time! Parking in this are can be a bit annoying but on a weekday it was not too bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is very cozy and cute, perfect for catching up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got a couple items to share and loved them all! The Thai tea was delicious and I am glad I got the large size. The cream cheese wontons were so crispy and flavorful and I liked the sauce it came with. The pad see ew was also very delicious and the chicken paired well. The fried rice with honey chicken also had great flavor and was crispy. Definitely don't skip on the Khao Soi here since it is one the best I have tried! I wish the yellow curry was thicker and the chicken wasn't so tough, but the flavor was excellent. As for dessert, my friends enjoyed the mango sticky rice and I really liked the coconut ice cream. I will definitely be back!

Came here over a holiday weekend, and the food did not disappoint. We started with the steamed gyoza dumplings--you can tell they're made fresh, and they were packed with flavor. I tried the fried trout for the first time, and it was excellent. I loved that it was served butterflied, and the dipping sauce was so good I even took extra to go. We also had the khao soi with chicken--absolutely amazing. I really appreciated the balance of sweetness and heat, and the chicken had a nice char without being drowned in broth. The green curry was another standout. It was full of fresh vegetables and fragrant basil, and I especially liked that the veggies were perfectly cooked, not overdone. Definitely will be back!

Crispy Pork Appetizer

This place will destroy you with spice in the best way possible, it hurts so good and I kept going back for more. We ordered the Lao Style Papaya salad (mild), crispy pork appetizer, chili garlic fish special (mild) and garlic shrimp dry noodle (mild). Everything was mild but let me tell you I was sweating and my nose was running but I still kept eating. It was so flavorful. I would recommend everything we ordered. The only downside is the street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean and had a nice vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great. Will come back for more. Cheers!

This place is amazing! My wife and I were on 2nd street in Belmont and none of the restaurants appealed to us at that time. Yelp suggested this hole in a wall place on Broadway 15 minutes away, and boy, we're so glad we tried it. This was probably the most authentic Thai food I've had in my life. The ingredients were super fresh and it felt like they were home cooked. Parking can be a bit tough, but the food experience and very good service more than made up for it.

N7. Garlic Beef Noodle

This place was amazing and I will 100% be back. Casual ambiance. No wait for a table. Food (N7 garlic beef bowl) was fantastic. Flavours included spicy slightly sweet, sour, acidic. The waiter recommended I try it with the green lime sauce, and it was a game changer. I ordered 3* spicy out of 10 and it was definitely still spicy for me (I am W H I T E). But it was still very good. Service was great. He foresaw I needed more napkins (hey spicy ) and I never had to ask for more water. I'll be back for sure and would recommend!!!

Such great branding....love the decor!
Sunday B.

This is my go-to for Thai food! I brought my out of town family here on a Sunday night for dinner and they were busy...good for them (bad for me lol). we were a party of 7 at 5:30 so service was a tad slow but they are always super nice and patient. Parking can be rough since it's on Broadway and there isn't much parking in the neighborhood. We parked a few blocks away but it's worth the walk. The decor is fun with dangling wooden spoons painted in fun colors. It's perfect for quaint, local, and authentic Thai food. Also, do yourself a favor and get the mango sticky rice!!!!!! It's a delicious warm hug.

Came by on a Thursday night and got seated immediately... and then watched the line form right…read morebehind us. Timing has never been one of my talents, but apparently it was that night. Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

We ordered the Crying Tiger, fried chicken wings with curry dip and roti, and papaya salad, and every dish was outstanding. The Crying Tiger was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the rich, flavorful curry dip and warm, flaky roti. The papaya salad was fresh, crunchy, and had just the right balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and savory flavors. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and I can absolutely see why this place is always busy. Everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. I went with a group and naturally everything ordered was eaten family style. What we ordered: * Som tum (Thai style): my favorite type is Lao style, but I read the description and it wasn't it. So we went with Thai style and it was good! Not overly sweet, still savory, but light and refreshing. We ordered medium spicy level, but I feel like it wasn't quite "medium spicy". That was fine though because one of my friend doesn't handle spice well. * Roti with yellow curry: curry was standard, roti was flaky, warm, and buttery. * Tom Kha (with seafood): savory, tangy, creamy- but not milky. Highly recommend. * Fried chicken (with sticky rice): came out hot and crispy. Not typical thick American batter-- thin skin and friend onion was a nice touch. Used the sticky rice to eat with papaya salad instead. Picky eater approved. (Son of a friend) * Crab meat fried rice: real crab meat, fried egg on top, fried rice was nicely done. I recommend. ....believe it or not, restaurants do mess up fried rice! ;( * Pad Thai (I did not try this since it looked too saucey and I don't prefer my pad Thai to be too wet. My friend said it was okay.) * Thai tea: perfect ratio of milk to tea. It was solid! Service was nice and they were patient while we tried to figure out what we wanted for a 6 person group + toddler. They also provided a high chair at the table without us asking. Wait time was about 45 mins. Inside is pretty small and they don't have large tables, so they had to wait for a couple tables to clear. They do not take reservations. First come first serve, so be prepared to wait! No private lot, street parking only.

So, I found this S T Noodle Bar near by and decided to give it a try. I kinda know what there guys like to eat, so I just ordered a bunch of food. The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room.
