Nothing special about the breakfast here, let alone the service. They had the nerve to start with 20% for the tip recommendation part of the bill. They also charged us an additional $1.26 non-cash adjustment for using a debit card. I've never seen places such as IHOP and Biscuits Cafe ever do that; only mom and pop places do that. We agreed to never return and would stick to the big chain breakfast places, which are also cheaper. read more

My mom and I have been coming here for the Friday fish fry for a few years. It was really the best fish we'd ever had! The coleslaw was really bland but it's a *little* better now. But the fish! They've changed something and not for the better! It's very dry and bland, nothing like it used to be! We thought maybe it was just an off night, and came back when my niece and her husband were visiting. We'd been telling them how great the fish was and they were looking forward to trying it. Previous reviews were spot on. We gave this a try looking for a meal with a view. The views were great. On the other hand service was very poor. On top of that we ordered French dip which was barely tolerable to choke down. The roast beef was not fresh and the Au Juice had NO flavor. Needless to say we on the hunt again maybe some day there will be a nice location with outside dining and decent food. Please don't recommend State 48 Brewing or the Irish Wolfhound. Terrible food at both. Surprise needs to do better. read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning and found it to be very nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and I chose a table on the shaded patio overlooking the pool. Nice variety of items on the menu and moderate prices, plus friendly service. They are also open for lunch (closed Mondays) and also offer dinner some nights. We'll be back! Note that it's located in the gated community of Sun Village, but the guard will let you in and give you a parking pass. read more

At the Lakes in Westbrook Village it is great for a beer and appetizers after golf or drinks with friends but place isnt the cleanest and food just ok. Dinner menu very small- hope you like fish! They wont let you order from lunch menu in evening and their menu is small and pricey. hours are inconsistent. Evenings with music are nice but not advertised anyplace so unless u are a regular hard to know what is playing. Needs a website! Also has a cover charge (?). Competitive restaurant on other end of Village much nicer/cleaner and better food. read more

Inside the Sun Village Community. They have great breakfasts, pulled pork sandwiches, barbeque beans and salads. My complaint is their hours. I went yesterday and they had closed at 2pm. We're supposed to be open until 8. Went today, their web site said they were open until 3pm. Nope, closed again at 2 pm. It's frustrating to drive somewhere only to learn that they have closed early ! read more

I went their 3 weeks in a row to get the Rueben sandwich it's $14 on the menu online, the 4 th time I went I order angus burger $12 plus cheese $1 and a Rueben $14 they charged me $16 for the burger and $16 for the Rueben. I questioned it the day after when I looked at the receipt, I was told the prices change after 4pm I asked why they said you get more fries and meat which was a load of crap because I already had it 3 weeks prior food is good but customer service not so good price expensive. My wife and I had the Friday fish fry cod dinner. The restaurant was very busy but everyone was helpful and pleasant. The cod was cooked to perfection. Deep fried with a light breading. It was moist and flavorful too. We soon realized why it was so busy. The seasoned fries and coleslaw were delicious as well. The young lady who helped us (it was a to go order) was so sweet and attentive. We appreciate the great service and delicious food. We will return for sure!! read more

We were at a ballgame at the Surprise Baseball Complex and were looking for a place for breakfast. The wait at Over Easy was over 30 minutes so we found this place on Yelp. We thought we were in the wrong place as we entered a retirement community, however the gentleman at the gate gave us a parking pass and directed us to the parking lot. Reminded me of a similar place my parents used to live. The two ladies working the tables were very friendly and kept the coffee and other drinks full. Quite a few choices! Having been to Chef Peter's once before and it being great makes me a little sad I have to write this review. I took my girlfriend there so she could try their pancakes (that are amazing, btw). The place was not very busy at 9:30am on Saturday 8/12. We sat ourselves and were brought coffee. We then waited for 18 minutes without a sole coming to take our order even with us both doing the whole staring at them thing. We walked out and as we passed the checkout counter two people looked at us (the person that told us to seat ourselves and our waitress) and didn't try to stop us or even ask us what's wrong. We came for the music, which was awesome - Good Ol' Rock & Roll The guys were the high light. Our food was cold and bland, perhaps because the clientele is the 55+ crowd. Chef Peter's is at one of the Sun City club houses, and most of the customers seemed to be regulars who come for after golf adult beverages, so the food is an afterthought. Good thing! Breakfast was expensive, and terrible. The sausage was chewy. The bacon massively over cooked to the point my child dropped a piece and it shattered on the floor. The eggs were fine, but the hash browns were basically just fried butter held together with a little bit of potato. My daughter and I were looking for a new restaurant for lunch, and based on reviews we decided to check this place out. It was a bit difficult to find, as it is inside a gated community, but we eventually made it to the correct guard shack and were allowed in. It is inside the community center, and looks like a small cafe, with outside seating, which is not used in the hot summer. The menu had a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches, and the website had advertised having barbecue from 11am-1pm, but it also wasn't available. My daughter ordered a club sandwich with sweet potato fries and I had a par 2 salad which was tuna and chicken salad on a bed of greens. Her fries looked like frozen fries from the grocery store and were very overcooked. She said that the bacon on her club was tasteless-had no flavor. My salad was average, but the chicken salad was very bland. This was a big disappointment, but we learned our lesson and will keep looking for a new, good lunch restaurant. read more

I stumbled into this quaint community and restaurant by accident and quite pleased with the kind greetings from Chef Peters and everyone within the restaurant. My first experience I dropped in with a girlfriend for a glass of wine. I've now returned several times for dinner. Starting with a kind greeting from hostess, to drinks poured promptly and generously by bartender, servers accommodating with taking meal order ... all are engaging and kind. I'm remembered every time I go in, greeted with kindness and to complete the dining experience the food is deliciously prepared, served promptly at affordable prices. Our cycling group (25+ riders) had a great breakfast here. The service (that would be Adele) was excellent, the chef actually came out and welcomed us. They come to our Community on Saturdays. Love brisket so thought we'd give it a try. It was AWFUL; the food was so smoky, it was nearly impossible to eat!!! They made "The List" in one try! Best breakfast I've had in a while. Super omelette. Chef Peter is so friendly and personable. He's got a happy staff which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Friday fish fry is excellent. The hamburgers are stacked and juicy. Salads are truly huge so a half order works for me. I like the Par 2, with a scoop of tuna salad and chicken salad. Several friends rave about the strawberry spinach salad. Excellent wine prices. $5 a glass of house. There's quite a nice dessert selection too. A new chef has taken over in this restaurant and the lunch menu has something for everyone. Outside dining by the community pool is nice, but very noisy. My party sampled quesadillas (soggy), patty melt (excellent) and chicken kebabs, which I heard were good. Staff is new, so be prepared to wait. read more

We celebrated my Mom's Celebration of Life. My folks live very close to Chef Peter's Bistro so we thought we would have him cater our event. I live here in Seattle so arranged the event from here. At the last minute we moved the venue from the Community Center there to a Marriott close by. Chef Peter was totally on board. It was 110 that day and he moved all the settings, food, ice, chafing dishes, everything to the new venue. The food was fabulous and Chef was so kind and thoughtful. My brother and his wife were come down from Wickenburg to visit and have lunch. Since we were all new to the area, I suggested that we try Chef Peter's. I had read reviews about it. The décor was much like a Denny's, but the food and service was excellent. We ha a salad, gyros and chicken tenders. But I had an opportunity to review all three of their menus - breakfast, lunch, and dinner and believe there is something for everyone's taste. I plan to return soon for both breakfast or dinner. I want to try some of Chef Peter's other dishes. read more
