I was at this location today. I usually like the service here, but today I witnessed a shocking waste of food. It seems that the practice here is that when they mistakenly put in the wrong ingredient, instead of removing this as requested by the customer they instead are instructed to throw away the entire salad. They did this TWICE here today with the SAME customer and then when she asked them not to throw it away that she would eat it they laughed at her and still threw it away. If this is part of Chop't training policy then it should be revised and the staff educated on waste management. I just went to this location to order a salad for lunch. I was shocked to see that the staff would rather throw out an entire salad to the trash because the wrong ingredient was added rather than just scoop it out. This happened twice. Two salads were completely thrown out just because the wrong ingredient was added twice on my salad. I ordered the Spicy Santorini warm kale and quinoa bowl. My salad was only missing the last ingredient (i.e. the warm quinoa, lentil & millet blend)but one of the staff members added extra chicken instead. Mistakes happens but instead of scooping out the extra chicken (an ingredient pretty easy to scoop out) the staff member threw out the entire salad and advised a colleague to prepare another salad. I communicated that removing the wrong ingredient was fine. While preparing the second salad the colleague added the wrong kind of cheese, no big deal mistake happens, but once AGAIN the whole salad was thrown out just after i had just said to the first staff member not to throw out the entire salad! This is such a waste of food and so many people struggle to even get food. When i raised my concern to the staff members they basically laughed at me saying that it was ok. But I think that it's NOT OK to waste food. I hope that Chop't will change it procedures and only throw away an entire salad if there is a risk of allergy or give away the salads. read more

If you wait on line this place is fine. Yes, the salad is overpriced but it's always good. Now if you order online for pickup...good luck with that. I have been busy lately so figured I will start doing the online order instead of the wait in line. Well if I would have known that would triple my time spent waiting I wouldn't have even bothered to order ahead. They give you a set time to pick up and your food is never ready by that time. Nor is it ever correct when you get it. Something you order and PAY FOR IS ALWAYS MISSING...... Please just stop offering the order ahead/pick up service because it is the worst. So basically if you don't mind waiting in a long line some days this place is fine. Just do not think you will be saving time by ordering online. read more

I'm usually all about salad bar, but Chopt doesn't really do it for me. the place is clean and the design is quite new and trendy. you order directly at the bar, you can either order a pre-designed menu or build your own. the salad itself does not taste horrible and ingredients are pretty okay - fresh veggies, nothing rotten or old. but the composition of everything feels a bit off and sad. for what it offered, it felt so overpriced as for the same price I can get better salad somewhere else. whatever toppings you chose don't really matter because there will only be too little amount of it and as much as I love leafy greens, I still want my salad to have the toppings that I ordered in decent amount, not just bunch of chopped greens with some speck of color and dressings. it's not that I hate this place to the core, but as long as there are other options in the area, I might go with the other options instead read more

I came in here twice while I was visiting the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. The first time I had the Kale Caesar salad with half Kale and half Romaine lettuce. I asked them to go easy on the dressing and the salad was so fresh and delicious. The next day on my way back to the home I dropped in and had exactly the same salad, but had them add chicken. I have say I am more than a little jealous of Manhattanites, not only do you have a great city but you have Chop't Creative Salad Company to grab a quick, budget friendly, tasty and healthy meal. I love chop't and this location is pretty good. Even if the line is long, it moves pretty quickly. A few things I def think they could improve on is - 1 not skimping on the toppings.....between grabbing 1/2 empty scoops and dropping half the contents often times there is barely anything left over for the salad bowl....they've revised their menu and now it's a little confusing as to what the originals were....also there were some revisions to classic recipes and I'm not a fan. I love Chop't, even though it's expensive. If you stick with their signature salads and don't add anything, it's not so bad... but even when I splurge, it's worth it. They use fresh ingredients, have a million awesome dressings, and the salads are gigantic - I rarely finish one. I'm happy this location opened up near my office. It's not too crowded during lunchtime and even when the line looks long, it moves really fast. read more

RIP Chopt. This place simply isn't competitive, hate to see it. They tried to incorporate bowls since the salad mill model doesn't work and they just aren't up to par. I just paid $18 for. Braised pork bowl which was just balls of fat in watery cauliflower rice. I can go to Cava, Som Bo or one of the countless other places with significantly more current and reasonably priced options that taste 10x better. It's also 1230 on a Tuesday and there's no one here. Food- good, Service - bad, or at least indifferent. "Chopper" asked 2x "what dressing" and 3x "do you want salt and pepper?" I guess she kept forgetting while she yelled at some guy in the back. Cashier never made eye contact and was counting receipt. She gave me the price then, although I already had my card out to hand to her, went back to her receipts. I waited for a minute before saying, "I'm ready when you are," and she finally looked up and gave me a dirty look. Meanwhile, three of her colleagues were hanging out behind her chatting away. Stayed right across the street so the location was perfect! It's basically a custom made salad restaurant with a ton of different options for your salad. I ordered the Mexican and it was awesome with the perfect level of spiciness. The downside was that I found the whole menu and ordering process to be a bit confusing if you wanted to order a custom salad. Perhaps having a menu to look at while in line would make things easier. Let's talk about how the location on 56th between 6th and 7th might be the worst of them all. 3 salads ordered for pickup. I pickup and go back to the office, ALL 3 are wrong. I go back, they remake them. While there, my colleague calls, she had ordered 1 hour and 45 mins earlier and still not received her delivery. I pickup hers while I am there. I found this gem on a trip to NYC. This place is delish! I have already been online searching for other locations around the globe. I found a few in the Washington DC area and I will be hunting them down this weekend. Now, it could be that I was just starving at the time, but the steak & blue cheese salad literally melted in my mouth. It was SO good, and such a great, healthy option for an on-the-go traveler. I do agree that it was quite $$$ for a 'fast food' meal, and I wish it were less, but let's face it--it was a salad not a thawed out, over-processed cheeseburger and this is New York City. I think all New Yorkers should try/have tried Chopt. This is my go-to healthy lunch spot. You can pick your own option and choose 4 toppings and a base. They have the FRESHEST grape tomatoes I've tasted in a fast food place. It comes out to be a little less than $9. Also, if you have their level up app, you can get a free meal after purchasing $100 dollars' worth. I was looking for a quick salad place like Sweetgreens, and found Chopt nearby where I was staying at Sheraton. The service was very fast and the salads were delicious. I got one of the specialty salads that had chipotle dressing, chicken and jalapenos. If you're not so good with spocy foods, I suggest you ask to take out the jalapenos, because they are VERY generous with them. There was also a large portion compared to the price (barely finished). Chop't salads are a bit pricey, but customary considering the location. The salads are a pretty decent size; bigger than their neighborhood competitors. Plan to stand in line for a while if you're going during the typical lunch hours (12-2). To their credit, they keep the lines moving at a reasonable pace. My only complaint is that the salad handlers don't change their gloves or knives in between salads, unless you ask. As a vegetarian, it's a little unsettling that the same knife used to chop a chicken salad, will not be cleaned prior to chopping my veggie salad. My vegetarian counterparts and people with allergies should beware! read more

Here is my go to order, this is delicious: -Mesclun Mix -Fried Chicken -Pepper Jack Cheese (optional, only if I'm really hungry) -Corn -Carrots -Crispy Onions -Smoky Bacon Russian dressing -Salt Chopped extra fine.
