To be quite honest this is the only place in central texas where you can get some decent Tex-mex.

We love Chuy's and because of that the rating gets 3 stars but only eat here in person! Do not, I repeat DO NOT order online and pick up. I have done this 4x and each time it takes 20-30 minutes longer then when they tell you to be there so you just sit in your car for 30 minutes. It is frustrating and annoying. They also are always stingy with salsa on pick up. The whole pick up experience is just really bad. So go in person and order some queso and something with hatch green chilies read more

I like Chuy's, but it always seems that I want it to be a little bit more. The food is always good, as well as the service. The locations are neatly decorated, and the prices aren't bad, but it never "wows" me. This newer location is the same. I had the Southwestern Enchiladas, which was an original enchilada with a spicy sauce and topped with a fired egg. I liked it, but be prepared for the spice. Those I was with also enjoyed their food as well. I've always wanted better chips at Chuy's. I prefer a thicker, "cornier" chip, and these are quite thin. All-in-all, it's a good meal, good price, nice place, but I still have to rate it middle-of-the-road for local Tex-Mex. read more

Very disappointed in carryout service. The team fails to complete the order. Twice, we have had to report a failure to provide us with the correct types of tortillas (corn vs flour) that we paid for. In both cases, the ticket had the correct item we requested (health issue with flour), yet the staff failed to read the ticket correctly. The first time, we reported to corporate, they responded and we even had the manager call to apologize. I felt the issue was going to be resolved. The second time, 31 Mar 21, I had to go in to get my order filled correctly. Again, I reported to corporate that same day and have yet to receive any feedback. Word of warning, when you order for pick up, make doubly sure you verify your order before letting the staff go. Odds are, we will not be coming back. Rosa's is a better place. read more

We arrived between the late Sunday lunch and the early Sunday dinner crowd around 3:30pm. We felt like we should be ordering the blue plate special but we were traveling and it just happened to be the spot when our tanks went empty and we needed something more substantial than fast food. The place was still doing a decent amount of business and the hostesses and bussers were doing their best to clean up from the previous rush. There were still some crumbs and dirty tables but they were truly working hard to clean. Our waitress was friendly, prompt and made some suggestions. We went with some queso and guacamole for apps but stuck with water for drinks as we still had some driving to do. I didn't like that I had to specifically request their special jalapeño ranch dip - it's really good and they should just ask if you want it - it's like ketchup for Texans, it goes on everything! The food was great and it's adequately priced for the large sized portions. Everything was a little salty but it wasn't enough to put a slug in hospice. Came for happy hour but very disappointed today. The nacho bar isn't stocked at all. Don't advertise the nacho bar if you can't keep it stocked. It only has one item available at a time. What's the use in having it if you can only get beans? Not what I expect from Chuys. Other Chuys are way better in this respect. The food that is available is good. It's like the slopped on a crap load of Taichung and lettuce to camouflage the very blend taste of their food. Not impressed at all. We are regulars at this location but that is going to change. The food is always great. Staff is subpar. But what really gets me is not once or twice, but THREE times, out check has hit our account and more money was taken out than what we paid. The servers steal money of you leave a tip on your debit/credit cards. The first couple of times it was anyway between 20cents to $2, but the third time is was $10 they stole. Make sure you keep your receipts and make sure to write down exactly how much you pay and check your account for when the charge hits your account. Never eating at this location again because of the staff. Yet another time we've tried to like this location and it's nothing but crap. Waiters are not good at all. The hostess Sevanah is rude beyond anything I've ever seen. My husbands margarita is never right(no salt; always comes with salt). I see why this location only has 2 stars. Don't even get me started on on the lack of shorts the girls are wearing. I shouldn't be able to see the waitress ass coming out of her shorts. Extremely disappointed in an old favorite. We spent over $100 on take out from door dash only to find the to go platters for 6 entrees, 2 appetizers and ONEbag of chips. ONE for 6 people including we ordered a large chips and quest and the sampler which comes with chips and quest and guacamole and chips. It looked like our meals were tumble dried. Everything was mixed together. I get that the delivery driver probably was the worst ever but if it all wasn't shoved into one bag it would have been way better. I've been to various Chuy's for years and lately it has been hit or miss. This time, a hit for sure. The meal started with chips and salsa. Pro tip: order the creamy jalapeño! It's no charge and it delicious as an alternative to their salsa. I ordered the Chuychanga with Boom-Boom sauce. Probably my favorite chimichanga from anywhere. Perfectly fried, not greasy with super crispy ends! Delish! My wife ordered the taco and enchilada combo. She's strictly no veggie and the taco was bare as ordered. Our server, Kayla made sure that the chips and drinks stayed full and clued us in that, should my wife so choose, that she could have ordered her Chuychanga sans cilantro and chilies. First off let me start by saying I love chuys! All of my celebrations it's the one place I go to...but the location on west 7th. I went to this one when they first opened and this was only my second time. The restaurant wasn't busy and we got sat right away. I looked at the drink menu and put it down. Waiter comes over and puts the menu lying down and puts chips on top of it. Sure I already knew what I wanted. I order a pink Cadillac (as always, yum) and he asks for ID. I give my ID which is from Virginia. He takes it and then gives it back and says "are you 21" I'm thinking he's asking where my birthdate is on the ID. So I point it out 1992. He says yes but ARE YOU 21? Questioning the authenticity of my ID. Even with the small floating HOLOGRAM of my picture in the corner. I am not that pressed to try to make an ID like that for a little liquor. Let's be real. On to the food it was very bland. I added so much salt I'm sure my hands will be swollen tomorrow. The tortillas were fresh but very thick. My boyfriend ate literally one piece of his beef fajita and was done. The waiter came to the table 5 min after it was put on the table and asked if he wanted a box in which he said no. A GOOD waiter would've asked if something was wrong with the food since he didn't eat it but that's okay. Anyways, I never go to this location and now I remember why. We love Chuy's! Lynzo our server was fantastic and gave great recommendations. The sweet tea was on point and the Chuychanga was yummy. The only thing that doesn't put this at the top of my DFW Tex mex list is their salsa. If you like super fresh chunky salsa this is for you. My husband and I frequent this Chuys location since it is less than five minutes from our house. It's your typical Tex Mex restaurant other than their chips and salsa. Salsa is more of a pico consistency which I love and they also offer a creamy jalapeño salsa (think ranch) if requested. My husband and I honestly come here because they are the most vegan friendly in the area. Their beans, rice, corn tortillas, and blue corn tortillas are all vegan. If you have a dairy allergy, the flour tortillas contain whey. Service here is hit or miss so we don't go in with the highest of expectations. Also, if you come at an off peak time you will get old food/sauces that have been sitting there since lunch. read more

Went to Chuy's Alliance for a birthday party with a group of 10. Called ahead and was told that I had to go on line and check in. I picked a time and showed up 15 minutes before my time. Let me start by saying I have been a dedicated Chuy's lover for awhile now, but after my visit last Saturday, September 22nd I am rethinking. As always I was busy and decided to get take out. Once I got home and opened my order I eagerly began to eat a little more than half way in I found a deeply cooked FLY. My Dad would once say "he didn't eat much" but the truth is I now wonder if it was the only one. I called the restaurant and spoke with management who apologized and said they would replace the meal but being over 35 minutes away I declined. My husband and I came here for the Friend's & Family soft opening event on Friday, March 25. We were first welcomed by the manager at the front door followed by a group of friendly, smiling hostesses inside. We were immediately seated - our choice of patio or inside. We chose inside just to see the place. Everything looks great and of course was spanking clean. First off, the salsa fresca and warm chips were perfection. We absolutely LOVE the signature ranch jalapeno dip. And in the spirit of the opening (and our day off), we ordered 2 classic margaritas. The margaritas were great! My only complaint is that they are too small. All drink proceeds that day went to the Community Storehouse in Keller (awesome!!). I ordered the combo that came with a crispy beef taco, 2 chicken flautas, 2 classic cheese enchiladas, 2 cheese nachos, guacamole, rice and beans. Everything was delish! My husband ordered the steak burrito and loved it. The rice was seasoned and looked amazing. His dish came with charro beans as well. Overall, we were very pleased and will be back! Waited much longer for another cocktail and then waited some more to order. Then ordered. It was all like pulling teeth. Didn't have utensils. Didn't get them. Things that should have been gratuitous-or offered were not. We had to literally ask for everything. It's been a long time since I left less than a 20 percent tip. She deserved about 5% or less to be honest. It kinda feels like teens are running this place. Food was good, I'll give it that. Service is terrible. Find another Mexican restaurant. read more

Second trip to chips, different location, still not impressed. Busy ish for a Sunday around 4 pm, but not to busy to have to wait. Atmosphere is tex mex, with odd pictures on the wall. Didnt think they really went with the decor. Ordered the fajitas, combo plate, around 15 dollars. Not a bad price, average for tex mex. Flour tortillas are made in house, but way to much flour. Enough to leave flour on your hands, which to me over powered everything else. Switched to corn tortillas, they were better. Wife had the green Chile flautas, said they were good, but spicy. Only down part about this restaurant is that Fridays and Saturdays are extremely packed so y'all have to wait a while to be seated.
