Revisited yesterday after being away for awhile. I decided to do this review about the service since the food is always very good and this time was no different. The Hostess greeted us with a big smile at 11:02 am, right after opening. Seated right away and our server was there in less than a minute. Took our drink order and my Wife handed her one of the packaged forks that was dirty. She apologized, not over the top but professionally. Returned very quickly with our drinks and new silver. Took the food order and while waiting she checked on us multiple times as she passed by. Check was dropped no more than 30 seconds after the last plate was pushed away. Smiles and thanks refilled in a nice holiday tip. This is what service is. Looks like the professionals are coming back to work again. read more

Chuy's is one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants, however, since the Happy Hour trunk bar was removed I admit we don't hardly ever go anymore. Our first time. We were sat immediately. Our server greeted us within 2 mins. Chips were brought out to the table fast. Food was very fresh and flavorful. Our chips were refilled as soon as we were in need of more. My wife and I have lived in Florida for some time and the restaurant decor reminded us of that beach lifestyle we miss. We were so happy with everything, we decided to have dessert and that was another home run for us. I had the crispy taco qnd cheese enchilada plate with beans and rice. My usual, but I would always leave the rice and beans behind. I've ordered on multiple occasions from this location and they are NEVER on time.. if it says order ready at 7.. you better plan on 8 or 8:15.. additionally they always seems to forget something.. We are from Austin and are so happy to finally have Chuy's close to us now! Everything is so fresh, including the salsa that has such amazing flavor. This visit I had the chicken tortilla soup - it never disappoints. Big chunks of chicken and the broth is chicken rather than the tomato-ey yuck soup that some places serve. Very tasty and filling! The queso compuesto is also something they can brag about - cheesy yumminess with chilies, taco meat, avocado...serious foodie delicacy!! Also, special thank you to our server Brody, who provided excellent service and was on top of everything!! I asked for no cilantro on my soup (garnish), and he came and made sure to let me know there was some cilantro IN the soup, just in case I was allergic. Very professional and thoughtful! On a flight layover, I went to Chuy's by myself for a late lunch/early dinner. Sat at the bar. First and foremost: the two bartenders working, Joseph and Anna, are the absolute best in customer relations and service! At Anna's recommendation, I started with a local IPA from Fort Worth Brewing (I owned a brewery and still favor craft beers). The chips and salsa at this location are by far the best I have had in years. Light, crisp and delicate. I think the chips would crack if a person stared at it intently long enough. Joseph also gave me a side bowl of creamy jalapeno sauce. It was fantastic. I asked Joseph what the most popular burrito was on the menu. I ordered it, the steak burrito with boom boom sauce. It too was delicious. Completed the meal with a second IPA. The food was excellent. The service by Anna and Joseph was unparalleled. Unfortunately, this place is not as good as I thought it used to be. We really wanted to sit on the patio on a beautiful early Saturday evening in October. It was mid 70s outside and really nice out. We picked Chuy's specifically to sit on the patio. The hostess told us that the patio was closed because they didn't have a server to work the area. We decided to stay because it was Saturday evening and probably have to wait anywhere else we went. The waiter was nice. Service was just a little slow. The food was mid. I used to rave about it, but it's not as good as I remembered. We ordered queso but the chips are all crumbs after just a top layer of decent ones in the basket. Probably will pick a different place to enjoy Mexican food on a patio next time. read more

A Chuys opened by us a few months ago and we waited until the hype died down so we wouldn't have to wait two hours to eat dinner. We were pleasantly surprised that a 25 min wait at 8pm on a Saturday night turned into 10 minutes. Had a couple margaritas at the bar while waiting. They were pretty god for $7 each. Didn't go light on the tequila either. The one down side to the bar was the chip and salsa bar that appears to be complimentary was bone dry. After asking a hostess about it nothing changed. Got to our table and quickly met with some really good salsa and chips. The waitress was quick to our table and we ordered their queso with guacamole. Amazing!!!! Could have eaten just that for dinner. I ordered the steak burrito. It was good and steak was good and hot. Nothing amazing and didn't blow me out of the water. My better half ordered a combination with three different enchiladas. Once again it was ok. One of them I didn't actually like it was a little bland. Same great place, same decent food, same FREAKING LOUD PLACE. I have never been in any restaurant SO LOUD in all my 53 years. If you come during a peak moment, which we do, prepare for one of the loudest environments in America. LOUD, I mean we had to yell to talk with our server type loud. I never could understand her. Music blaring in the foreground loudly and a design that caused such terrible reverb that we left (yet again) as quick as we could. Did I mention this place is LOUD? Their basic salsa is terrible. 3.7 stars- I've heard a lot about Chuys but never had the chance to stop by. To me it was just okay, more casual than I expected. Getting to the restaurant was a bit of a hassle, but I'm sure when constructions done it'll be better. If you miss the Heritage Trace exit going south on 35, you'll have to go all the way down to Basswood. There are also l little roads in the back, I found out about as I was leaving. When first walking in, the environment seems very casual. A lot of 80's, Elvis, and the like themed memorabilia mixed with multicolored brick patio tiles. My server was very fast, and I started with some queso. It was good. Cheese was kind of what you would expect. Cheesy and creamy. I ordered the Deluxe chicken enchiladas. They were good as well. The sour cream sauce is different that most places. - also called deluxe tomatillo sauce. I think it was mixed with cilantro and lime. This plate also came with rice and beans- pretty generic. One good thing was the plate was really hot. If you like chicken enchiladas you'll like these. Got too full for dessert. They have happy hour special 4-7 I think. Saw some good deals. I'm sure I would rate higher if I like Tex-mex, but I rarely have a craving for it. Nonetheless the food is good. Similar to Mi Cocina a few blocks away, but cheaper. If I come back, it'll probably be awhile. read more

5/6/22 our group was on the patio with multiple other public party's when a group of people started breaking into several cars including 2 cars of people in our party. Our server, after carrying too many waters on a trey and spilled water on the table and 2 people in our party, informed us to check our cars for break-ins in the middle of our 50 minute wait for 3 plates of chicken flautas. Chuy's is one of the best chains for Mexican I've found. As a chain I've found some differences from one location to another. Personally I love the Chika Chika Boom Boom enchiladas. When I had it at the Southlake location about a month ago, it was amazing. Alliance is the restaurant I normally visit and it occurred to me that the Southlake's dish was better. I thought it was because they were more generous with the sauce. After eating at this location last night I am sure of it. The dish was good but the markedly smaller amount of sauce made a difference. So given a choice I'd recommend Southlake over this Chuy's. read more

I was very excited to try this location because we do not get a chance to eat at Chuy's often, so it's always a treat when we do. The service was terrible! Waited five minutes before the server came to our table after being seated and should have known then that it wasn't going to go well. The server was extremely slow to stopping by our table, unfriendly, and seemed inconvenienced when we asked for anything. An order of tortillas was four, yet we had five people at the table. No biggie, but I don't understand why she seemed so shocked when the one order didn't provide one tortilla per person. She did not bus a single dish off of our table during the entire visit. There was NO extra space by the time we finished our appetizer, orders of tortillas, and five meals. Food was great, service was the worst. We won't be going back to this location. read more
