Hidden Gem in downtown LA in a little food court. This place is great for a quick bite or casual lunch. My boyfriend and I were in the area and saw the great reviews so we decided to try it out. We were expecting a little Mexican restaurant of some sort but instead walked into a food court and saw the cilantro lime counter next to a Chinese and seafood counter. It was taco Tuesday so they had $1 tacos. We got 2- one chorizo and potato and carne asada. The tacos were small but so full of flavor and amazing. For $1 you can't really complain about the size. I also got the famous carne Asada Fries. They were BOMB to say the least. Packed with guacamole, cheese, sour cream, meat and their special street sauce. Yummy. My food was phenomenal and the staff was friendly. I asked them if they could make me a burrito with chilaquiles, potatoes, and eggs and they did just that! I ordered it with a side of the black beans and well as a side of their chips and salsa (hot). Everything was great, I would love to try more of their food, but sadly I don't live in Los Angeles and was only there on vacation. Woah! Strawberry horchata?! Say no more. That's my favorite item here. It's not too sweet and you can taste the flavors of strawberries (they make their strawberry sauce) and the large is huge!! I think they have a special for them on thursdays. Their elote in a cup was good but too salty for my taste. Their carne Assad's fries were really good and huge! It was hard to finish because their portions are really big. They're in the middle of a food court so it can be kinda hard to find tucked in the corner but if you find it, it will be worth it. I ordered the brirria grilled cheese and a strawberry horchata for lunch. Both items were fresh and yummy. The sandwich had perfect portions of birria and cheese. Came back from a trip and was craving Mexican food and Cilantro Lime hit the spot! It's located in a little food court near Santee Alley with a few other restaurants. Parking situation kinda sucked - you either pay to park in a lot or do street parking, but that's standard DTLA parking. We ordered the Asada fries, Asada burrito, and the enchilada plate with a horchata and passion fruit aguas frescas to drink. We loved everything we ordered - the fries were nice and seasoned and perfectly fried. The drinks were very refreshing especially the passion fruit one (it's a must try!). Quality Mexican food at an amazing price. Tiny hole in the wall offers an impressive menu of tasty, finger-licking Mexican cuisine. The food in downtown LA is usually super over priced and being of poor quality. What's worse is that the good places are usually extremely expensive. Then I ran across Cilantro Lime. It's located inside of a food mall called the "International Food Court." It's difficult to see from a moving vehicle. Adjacent to McDonald's, with the food court has entrances from different streets. Parking can be hectic because it's downtown. Fortunately, there's lots to do in this area since it's really right next to the Fashion District. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Plenty of tables to choose from. Inside the food court is loud. This is not fine dining, so don't expect amazing setting/ environment. The prices of the food were super reasonable. Food took a little long to come out but the quality and taste of the food made up for the wait. Food tasted home made. The food exploded with flavor. The salsas were delicious and fresh. The serving sizes are not gigantic like most Mexican places but they definitely will fill you up if you're hungry. read more

If you didn't know, I don't blame ya cause I didn't either! They're located inside the International Food Court near the fashion district and from my understanding they open absurdly early. Which is always a plus for the people that can have a full meal before the usual time and skip on the "little" breakfast. Eggs and bacon just don't cut it for me! After viewing some of their Yelp pictures it was pretty obvious what had to be done, we tried the DTLA Famous Asada Fries with crumbled particles of Hot Cheetos on top. The fries had a really great seasoning that almost tasted like a blend of cilantro and lime but to be honest I think the name of the restaurant really just got to my head. Give the bad boy a robust mix and the Hot Cheetos explosion will hit your taste buds with a slow gentle kiss. We also ordered the Burnt Cheese Quesadilla and it's literally tortilla with a tad bit of burnt cheese at the crust, nothing spectacular but didn't hate it either. Found this little spot in a food court near the fashion district. We saw other reviews on Yelp and thought we wanted menudo for breakfast, so we walked 15 minutes to try it out. We were not disappointed! After seeing that they offered the full menu at 10 am, we strayed from the traditional breakfast menu. I had the mexi-papa tacos. One carnitas and one barbacoa. The carnitas was my favorite. Flavorful and filling! My hubby had the al pastor nachos because why not. The food here is pretty good with the exception of the Corn Cup which I feel that a restaurant should cut actual corn from the cob but Cilantro Lime uses canned corn. The Pombazo was also not good. From my experience, the bread is supposed to be fried or at least pan fried. Here, it was literally soggy, cold, basic bread. The Mulitas were the most flavorful thing we tried and even that was not impressive in flavor. Now, for the real disappointment. The service was actually offensive and I don't think I'm offended that easily. Our order was taken quickly and easily by a thin, light skinned brunette I believe named Elizabeth. Then, the problems began, different people on their team started bringing out our food piece by piece, which would have been fine if they did not start messing up the order by forgetting what we got, Four different people came to bring us a part of our order (we bought almost $100 in food) and each of them asked what we were missing and we told them exactly what we hadn't yet received. They looked confused but said okay and left. After each of those cases, the original server Elizabeth would come back with a Heavy arrogant and condescending attitude to imply that we were lying because she thought we had gotten our food already. She even got mad at my friend for not knowing the exact name of the taco he ordered instead of focusing on the fact that he ordered multiple tacos and only got one. She finally went to tell the kitchen we were missing that taco. I pointed out that was still missing my Suede Dog and two regular street tacos. She looked at my friend's plate and said "They're right there" assuming that only I got tacos and those must have been the ones when in reality they were my friend's tacos. This entire time, we have the receipts on the table to show her and she still acted like we are trying to steal from the establishment. We never returned the attitude she was giving us but I think she would have definitely deserved it. After she left again, I went up to the counter and said "If you haven't started making the tacos and the suede dog that are left I can just take the refund since we're done with all of our other food already." Elizabeth responded "It's already coming out" only to come back to our table 5 minutes later and tell us that we are getting refunded because they don't have the ingredients available for the tacos and hot dog. I imagine the attitude could have some out of frustration because we showed up half an hour before their closing time and (who I think is the Owner) told her to attend us as well as a line of about 5 groups behind us but I still do not think that type of service is acceptable. not to mention that their system of bringing out food and tracking big orders is clearly inefficient. In short, the food was good but not impressive compared to any other Mexican restaurant. The service was absolutely disgusting. read more
