We're visiting from Texas, visiting here for the birth of our 1st grand baby, we will be coming more often to watch him from, and we've already said that this place is a MUST.....starting with the FRESH Mozzarella/tomatoes/basil, to die for...and we're not a fan of lamb, but we tried our daughters, and it was the yummiest flavored lamb, I had the salmon which was outstanding, the ambience was spectacular....can't wait to come back to try other dishes, great job read more

A solid three star, average restaurant. Though promoted as a seafood restaurant, they only have 5-6 seafood entrees. And the salads offerings are very weak. Typical of many "southern" restaurants, or those "wanabees" that think every item on the plate must be sauced, you get brown sugar, butter, or other additions on what seems like everything....and it is swimming in it, unless you say something to the server when placing your order. Note "Ellen D" 's review who says it perfectly. Reasonable selection of wines by the glass, and good wine list. Quality of tuna, chicken was average. Pork loins looked good. Service was professional. I tried booking my wedding rehearsal dinner, but I didn't need a private room as we weren't planning any elaborate event and just wanted to treat our friends and family to dinner. We confirmed our dinner reservation twice by phone (on two separate days) both confirming the number of tables and size of our party. We would be separated by several tables and would be placed on one check - which is exactly what we were looking for. I also spoke with Adriana via email several times to set up the reservation. I was later informed by their events manager, Morgan, that the reservation could not be made and that the people we spoke to over the phone were in training and shouldn't have confirmed the reservation. The events manager didn't even try to fix the situation and gave us no alternatives. It wasn't even that they were fully booked - but just didn't want our business. I am highly disappointed with the constant (lack of) miscommunication. I would not recommend planning an event with this team. read more

Pretty yummy! Came for a birthday dinner on the suggestion of a co-worker. I loved the interior decor and atmosphere - elegant but welcoming. Our server was super friendly and spent a lot of time rattling off the dishes by heart (pretty impressive!) We ended up getting clams, crab cakes, and shrimp and grits. I think next time I'd opt for this seafood or clam boil we saw another table order. The crab cakes were OK - everything else was fantastic though. Will definitely have to give this a try again! read more

The restaurant is beautiful. Simple but Classy. Once we got past the incompetent host, everything else was wonderful. If not for her I would have gave this restaurant 5 stars. Brian, our server was amazing. He was very knowledgeable with the menu and made some great suggestions. I ordered the Warmed Bibb Salad, my husband ordered the Raw Oysters. Both appetizers were amazing. The oysters were from the Eastern Shore (Bay Side). My entree was the Salmon , my husband ordered the Yucatán Seafood Bowl. Both were delicious! One recommendation, when making reservations, ask to sit in the rear of the restaurant, more secluded and romantic. read more

I've eaten here about a half dozen times in that many years. Stylish. Noisy as most restaurants are now days, but not overly so. The service was OK. However, we were not told of the specials and we missed the printed special menu. The wedge salad was OK, but not exceptional. The flounder was also OK, but not exceptional. One of the drinks was made incorrectly. We were offered another drink, but declined, and we were not charged. read more

Just moved back to the area and couldn't wait to get back to Coastal Grill. It's been 5 years or so since my last visit and it was always by far the most solid consistent bet for dinner and now it seams they have only gotten better if that's possible?! Like fine wine I guess it's gotten better with age lol. Tasting the acorn squash and, in my opinion, the freshest seafood options in town again, the very attentive yet unobtrusive service and the warm local vibe made us feel like we had truly come back home. If this is your first time to the area there is no other 'first stop' that needs to be made. Thank you Cosstal team!!! read more

This was the most awesome fail of a restaurant -I absolutely had to give this review. It was Father's Day, but it was also my moms 86th birthday. I made reservations at 745 pm outside (Covid) and we were there on time. Valet called me darling. Unappreciated. Ma'am would have been more appropriate. No table. Waited patiently. Folks didn't leave. So they seated us inside. Better than no seat. But higher Covid risk. Especially since the staff were only half wearing their masks, the hostess in contact w everyone--nose exposed--and people wonder how contraception fails, but I digress. Very nice waitress wearing her mask correctly! Limited by the glass wine options. Assumed I liked sweet wine, unappreciated. I do not. Got a glass of Pinot Grigio. Ordered mozzarella n tomatoes salad , nice, good bread. Ordered trout and the fresh pasta. Waited. Waited. Waited. Waited. Waited even more. Waitress apologized for delay. Waited waited. Finally asked about delay. Manager in a dress she had to keep pulling down as it kept creeping up and exposing her ass, explained that they had a lot of To go orders. Waited again. Waited, waited. By now it was getting comical. Finally food arrived. My mom's fish looked good and tasted good. She had no idea it was a whole fish, expected a fillet, this should have been in description or mentioned by server. It was not. My fresh pasta was a "scampi style " shrimp, garlic oil etc. I dug in because I love fresh pasta. It tasted like it had come directly from the pot of cooking water---and the water was not salted enough, I was sure this could not be the $29 pasta dish I had waited forever to receive, so I stirred it a lot as I was sure there was some flavored sauce somewhere. I was mistaken, another bite of cooked pasta, absolutely un-dressed w any sauce. By then, I was no longer hungry or willing to wait endlessly for a correction. I just sent it back and said no thanks. Even the waitress said it looked dry. So maybe dessert would help. It was late by then so my mom asked for crème brûlée to go. Plz look at the photo--looks like a cow patty huh? Can't believe they gave that to somebody. Especially since they were so busy with to go orders, you would think they had a method of presenting the crème brûlée that was a bit more appetizing and travel friendly, alas that is what my mom was given. Happy Birthday mom! Not to mention that I did document on my open table reservation that we were celebrating a bday---no mention of that. Regardless I tipped the waitress and valet well. But I have to say, I don't think I'll go back. We are limited w fine dining in this area, but I think I'll have to take my business elsewhere. One of the worst dining experiences in a long time. Service is good. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our orders were taken. And then..... more than an hour later our food arrived. The excuse was that they were busy for Father's Day. Fine. My tuna was room temperature and instead of rare was well done. Same for my daughter. The waitress offered to put it back on the grill. I wondered how much longer would that take? Another hour? And how would that fix the over cooked problem? You would think that a place called Coastal Grill would know how to cook seafood properly and in a timely fashion. The manager did take the dinners off the check after we complained. This place is generally my favorite restaurant. I love the soft shell crabs. However this time was the first time one of my soft shells was not very good. I've eaten here dozens of times over the last 17 yrs. I won't give up and expect this was a fluke. read more

Drinks are great, servers are friendly. Food is nothing special - classic fine dining. We asked if the fish was caught fresh and it isn't... not quite what we expected for a restaurant called coastal grille. Calamari was too fishy, fried butterflied shrimp was okay. Pasta was flavorless and oily. Don't even try to use the check in to get an app - The server said that they aren't accepting the yelp check in. Weird to have that advertisement on yelp and not offer it. Overall decent food, but I wouldn't come back. read more

we were last at Coastal Grill in 2018. at that time we had a party of 4 that was crammed onto a 2 top. I wasn't anxious to go back, but the birthday lady wanted to go so..... for a party of 5 we had a very nice large table this time. we had appetizers to share, goat cheese and toast, fried shrimp, and mozzarella and tomato, The goat cheese and the Mozzarella and tomato came in a plate with about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch of olive oil (i hope it was olive oil) in the bottom. appetizers were good. Wife doesn't drink, i had a Gin and tonic, my drink was very good. We ordered our salads and entrees 3 seafood dishes, My wife had the duck breast and there was a special on the menu of a PRIME new York steak. I have never had a prime grade steak, so although it was $40.95 i ordered medium rare. Seafood dishes were good, wife really liked her duck. When my steak arrived i was excited, there were deep fried onions, sauteed and some cooked down onions. The deep fried were every good. There was also a side of butternut squash which was very good. The steak had nice grill marks, about 1/2 inch thick, but didn't have any juice on the surface (should have been a sign of things to come). Normally i don't use a steak knife to cut my steaks, as they normally don't need that level of sawing to get to the meat. However, cutting into this PRIME GRADE steak was a chore, and i needed the steak knife. The inside was almost all pink as a medium rare steak should be. but no juice in the cut area (another sign of things to come) This PRIME GRADE steak chewed like a caner grade steak, it took time to chew 1 bite the time the other in my party had 3 bites. Dry, Tough, Disappointing to say the least. My wife noticed the difficulty and took a piece and after a few minutes of chewing, put the remains of the piece on her plate. Normally i have a rule to not order steak in any restaurant, but i couldn't resist trying a PRIME GRADE $41 steak. Boy what a waste of money. i will reinstate my rule of not ordering a steak in any restaurant. read more

This place was so beautiful! Very intimate party for my engagement, the service is impeccable and perfect for social distance! The guests are very kind as well as the servers. The owner was very courteous as well. Every meal I ate was delicious, I had poke and soft shell crab. Food is plentiful and filling. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

We love ceviche but this version had really really soft, almost mushy scallops! No one was a fan of mushy scallops so we ate around them! We're not sure if this is how their scallops always are served, of if we just got a mushy order. Overall the food and service was great and we will be back!

Sometimes I am hesitant to get pink because it's been to raw. The burger was not only cooked to perfection, I really loved the bleu cheese sauce and grilled onions. The waffle fries with the cinnamon/brown sugar sauce were great as well. My son also really enjoyed his burger, but he did say his fries tasted like shrimp. I tasted them, and they didn't taste like shrimp but they did have a distinct taste. I can't really describe it, but I didn't like it. We finished with the dessert of pineapple upside down cake which again tasted so odd. A random cake with pineapple thrown on top. Really? We ended up leaving wondering how it could be so bad when we had done our homework. We know restaurants that are just for aesthetics but certainly expected more from a place called The Hunt Room. The café wasn't busy when we visited there was only one couple dining in, it was clean, and the customer service was great. The employee who helped us was friendly, welcoming, and very kind. Since they were out of the malasadas, I decided to order the banana latte instead. I'd give it about a 7/10. For context, I'm always searching for a great banana latte because I love flavored coffee. One thing that frustrates me is when coffee shops advertise flavors like cookie butter, lemon pound cake, or red velvet, but the drink just ends up tasting like sweet coffee with no real trace of the advertised flavor. I was pleasantly surprised because this latte actually tasted like banana. It wasn't the best banana latte I've ever had that title still belongs to one I had in Las Vegas but it was definitely one of the better ones I've tried. The only reason it wasn't rated higher is because I noticed a sugary base flavor that overpowered the coffee a little for me. I personally prefer flavored lattes where I mainly taste the coffee cut with milk and the featured flavor heavily, not just sweetness. That's purely my preference. The fact that I finished the entire drink says a lot. I've had plenty of flavored coffees that I couldn't even finish because I disliked them so much. This wasn't one of those. I enjoyed it, and I definitely didn't regret ordering it. Now...the real star of the visit was the lumpia. It was AMAZING. Crispy, flavorful, and easily some of the best lumpia I've had. I actually tried another lumpia spot recently, and while it was decent, Ohana & Co.'s lumpia completely won me over. It's honestly the reason I'll be back. I have an eye appointment in the area next week, and I'm already planning another stop. I'll definitely be ordering the lumpia again, and this time I'm hoping they have the banana malasadas because that's what I originally came for. I also want to try one of their platters. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend giving Ohana & Co. a try. The customer service was wonderful, the café was clean, the banana latte was one of the better ones I've had, and the lumpia alone is worth the drive.

Huge huge huge shoutout and thank you to Mario for making my wife and I feel so welcomed and taken cared of!! The Food and Mario's kind service is literally the reason this establishment is getting a 5 out of 5. If you go here, make sure to ask for Mario, he's great! Disappointed Regular - Service Has Gone Downhill I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a long time and have always loved the experience. Unfortunately, the past few visits have been disappointing, and this time was the worst. The restaurant has decided to stop giving out menus, supposedly to encourage conversation between staff and guests. While that might sound nice in theory, it does not work when the waitstaff is overwhelmed with multiple tables, including a large party. Our server was nice enough but not attentive, which made dining difficult. To make matters worse, we weren't given plates for our appetizers and had to go to the hostess to ask for them. This wasn't the type of food you can just grab and eat--it needed a plate due to how it was served. By the time we could finally eat, the food had gone cold. On top of that, we were there for a special occasion, and it was never even acknowledged. It's disappointing when a place that once felt special no longer delivers the same level of service. The only saving grace was that the food remains as delicious as ever, but great food alone isn't enough when the experience falls short. It just seems like restaurants aren't what they used to be. I truly hope management reconsiders these changes because this used to be my favorite spot. For now, I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

Been eating here many times and its one of my absolute favorites. But last night's experience was a big letdown compared to what we're used to. The service was super slow, the lighting was way too dim, and our plates sat there for nearly 30 minutes without getting cleared. The food was good, but definitely not up to the usual amazing standards. I asked for a to-go box, and it never came back. It was my husband's 75th birthday, and I ordered a Key lime pie, but the waitress brought it out with an unlit candle and expected him to light it himself. Coastal Grill does an excellent job in serving the freshest seafood, and best salads too! We all enjoyed our entrees which came with their signature backed squash! I had their delicious lightly fried oysters. Others had the Rock Fish Special, and Seared Tuna Steak. Our server was extremely accommodating as one person in our party was a vegetarian and the chef made her a special vegetarian pasta dinner! YUMMY! This restaurant has been around since 1989 and has been incredibly popular with the local crowd every since. I had dinner there last night and there was a man playing the guitar and it was so relaxing and romantic. The dim lighting and excellent food make for a perfect date night. The scallops themselves were cooked perfectly, but the cucumber flavor just wasn't for me. That's purely a personal preference, not a reflection of the quality. My biggest disappointment was the coleslaw, which seemed more like lightly shredded lettuce with a drizzle of Marzetti's dressing than traditional coleslaw. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the food or the view. We waited quite a while before anyone acknowledged our table, and after our order was taken, we never saw our server again until the check arrived. There were no drink refills, no check-in to see how our meals were, and no thank you at the end. Overall, Bubba's has some incredible food and an unbeatable waterfront atmosphere, but the inconsistent service and a couple of underwhelming menu items kept it from being a great experience. It wasn't the best meal I've had, but it certainly wasn't the worst either. I'd definitely come back--for the appetizers, the salmon, and that beautiful view.
