Went to celebrate a friend's birthday and was greeted with an attitude not by one but 3 ladies working the host stand. After waiting over an hour the host mentioned to us that our table has been taken by another party. Another 20 minutes go by and the host suggested that we split the party up and sit side by side instead of all together. We were placed on some back patio area that looked exactly like a back yard patio set up. And on top of that we couldn't hear any of the live jazz. Gena, at the Cobb location, is easily one of the best servers I have ever experienced! She was very polite, energetic, and engaging to my entire party. Met my boyfriend here to try happy hour on a Wednesday evening. The service was extremely poor and one star is putting it nicely. First, I had to ask to order - There was a larger party so they seemed to be getting priority. Secondly, the food that was served to us was horrible. The crab claws tasted fishy w the sauce being watered down. There was no inquiry for a second drink bc again we were more worried about the larger table. The wait for the check was a good fifteen minutes. Will not recommend coming here. I will surely not waste my time stopping here again. Pappadeuxs here I come. read more

When I first moved to Atlanta, this was my FAVORITE place to go to on a regular basis. Lately, when I have been going, the service isn't as great and the food isn't that great either. I visited Copeland's this past weekend with a family of 5, to celebrate my daughter's birthday. First of all, the stuffed brioche french toast, is life changing. The bananas foster, strawberry topping and whipped cream, took me there. Their Sunday brunch price increased to $29.95 per adult. Although the food was great, it was the phenomenal service we received from Donna, that made the price very well worth it. She was on point with EVERYTHING. Engaging with my 1 year old grand baby, clearing dishes promptly, refills without asking and even sang happy birthday all by herself!!! Please ask for Donna the next time you visit the Cobb Parkway location, you will not be disappointed. I served as a waitress for 13 years and know the epitome of excellent customer service when I receive it. This is not a paid review and I very rarely will write one. She was that good! read more

Wanted to try creole cuisine and was very disappointed but I wont hold it against the genre itself I promise. Was thinking of trying crawfish etoufee and the server told me ew no crawfish tastes like mushy seafood! OK THEN! I got shrimp.... with a creamy sauce over rice I cant remember what it was called the table had a variety of dishes - all lower diner quality food would be the best thing I could compare it to. I don't really know what to make of this place, the decor is interesting. Definitely going for a jazz-type feel with the low lights and the purple neons around the ceiling. Not so much authentic New-Orleans, a little more like a Vegas buffet dressed up like a New Orleans Jazz place. Whatever, that doesn't add to or take away from the food or service. The service is actually really great here and the waitstaff is very professional. The menu is overwhelmingly huge but you're sure to find something you will like if you just take your time and read through it. By the way... If you're nearby on a Sunday morning, their brunch buffet is amazing... literally everything you've ever had for breakfast is out on display, plus a smorgasbord of seafood entrees. Watch out for those. They're fried in butter, I think, and I felt woozy after eating 3/4 of one. Now for the tips. Opens at 9:30. If you show up at 11, you will have a long wait behind the church crowds. Live music also starts around 11. Bass guitar is a little too loud. She told us something was one price and Sold it to us for another price, then once was approached about it showed no remorse! This was my first time at Copeland's. Once a month I pick a restaurant on the map and I go, this place just so happened to be the place I chose. I have to be honest I was nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect, but my experience was great! I sat at the bar and my bartender was Austin. He had a great attitude and great hospitality. It didn't matter how many service tickets he got at the end of the bar ( I know because my seat was there and saw each ticket come in) he still was very attentive and very informative. I had appetizers, drinks as well as dinner and dessert. There was a server I also met, her name was Brittany. I wasn't sure what cheesecake to get. She informed me that the creole strawberry cheesecake was her favorite, she also broke down the difference between the two. I just want to say that between these to wonder people I had a wonderful time. I hope they enjoyed me as much as I loved my first time at this restaurant. I will be back!! read more

I just left Copeland's and it was my first time going there. This was easily the worst experience I've ever had at a sit-down restaurant. It started off quick and smooth with bringing the drinks and appetizer. After that things were highly unorganized. The waiter dropped my steak on the floor and so my food took an extra 20 minutes to get done after waiting for 30 minutes after getting the appetizer. After finally getting my food my wife's food was cold and the chicken seemed like it had been sitting there for like 20 minutes. And to top it all off, they complete forgot about my daughter's food. I'm sure other people have had better experiences, but mine was the absolute worst. read more

I loved Copeland's in New Orleans but this location was not good don't waste your time or appetite. The food was cold on a warm plate and just tasted ok. I had the salmon blackened which was a bit over cooked. We ordered the Pralines for dessert and was handed some stale mounds of hard sugar with nuts they didn't even look pretty. I took a picture and if I figure out how to load it I will. To only have 7 tables of couples and the service to have been that slow was crazy. This was my family and I first time visiting this restaurant. We arrived at 8:45. Unfortunately, we were unable to experience the food because we were told the wait was an hour. An hour passed and we asked how much longer will it be? We were told a minute. 10 minutes passed and we were told the table was getting cleaned. Another 10 minutes went by and we were told the table was getting cleaned. As soon as we informed the hostess we were leaving and remove our name. Went for the first time to Copelands this weekend and I have to say that I enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed without seeming like they were trying to rush us. The Bon Temps burger I ordered was delicious, fresh and filling. My wife's Jambalaya pasta was good too. We each finished by selecting a piece of the Creole cheesecake - utterly fantastic! A thin crushed biscuit and walnut base under an enormous layer of light and fluffy cream cheese and then whipped cream with whatever topping you ordered. In my case sliced bananas and for my wife - delicious white chocolate and raspberry. We're already looking forward to our next visit. read more

I just want to say how very disappointed I am with Copeland's. I had booked a 50th birthday party dinner a month in advance. Confirmed. Even asked if I needed to deposit and was told no. A friend of mine even called to make a special arrangement with the staff two days prior. And I spoke to management twice the day of!!! After we were seated, we were told that another party had booked the area and paid a deposit and we were going to have to be moved. Then they didn't have a place for my party because they had cancelled one of the birthdays thinking it a double booking. So we were squeezed into an area and I actually ended up at a table with my back to most of my party. I spoke to the staff several times in the few days leading up to it. This is really crappy management. While they took care of my meal and gave us appetizers and some got drinks. It still was a lousy thing to do. A person only has a 50h birthday once. Shame on you Copeland's for screwing up. I want to say however that the wait staff... David and I cannot recall the waitress - were AWESOME. Even when management was rude to them. read more

Good food for the price. Having visited NOLA, we have developed a taste for Cajun cuisine from po boys, jambalaya, beignets, and my fave drink- Pimm's Cup. This place did not disappoint. Servings are generous and food selection is "tremendous," try the onion petals and crab beignets. I had the jambalaya pasta and absolutely loved it. Tried their desserts as well but got the bread pudding to go- I would have eat the dessert at the restaurant next time. We' love be back to this place for sure. read more

I ordered a fried turkey for Christmas and it was terrible. It was suppose to be a Cajun fried turkey but it had no Cajun anything, no seasoning at all, burnt and dry. I was very disappointed and so was my family. it cost me to much money for it to be tasteless. this is my second experience with them, the first time many years ago the fried turkey was bloody. I visited today for the Sunday brunch and it was amazing!! I came with a party of 5 around 2ish and the wait was about 35 minutes. Once seated, our server was quick with greeting us and walked us through what the buffet had to offer. Ham, prime rib, cheesy grits, jambalaya.... And soooo much more! There wasn't one item I tried that I didn't enjoy!! My favorites definitely were the jambalaya and cheesy grits. They also have $3 mimosas! To add to the ambience, there was live music. Made the mistake of meeting my dad here for Sunday brunch. Super crowded and unorganized as far as the buffet goes. People just walk up in front of you like you're not their standing in line. You have to pretty much fight your way through to get to anything. The waiters have to walk through the crowd to get to the kitchen. I noticed people dropping the serving spoons on the floor and just putting it back on the table. Not sure what would be a easier way to set up the buffet to make the flow easier but what they have now isn't working. read more

Came here for a business lunch. Safe choices, pretty standard American fare. Nothing was bad, but wasn't that memorable either...Oh but I will say that I ordered the "cup" of gumbo which was really like a "bowl" sized serving. I came here for a birthday dinner. First off the wait was about 45mins to be seated and then after we were seated they took 25 mins to take our order. Then there was another 25 min for our food. At one point the waitress named April had not very good customer service. When she came to the table before drinks and food was here she asked are we okay. A person in my dinner party stated to her no we are not we are waiting for drinks or something. In turn the waitress April snapped back her like I'm waiting for your drinks at the bar and Is there a problem. This then made my friend upset and she went to the manager to advise what was going on. The manager came over to try to help the table as much as she could. At this point we were disappointed in this restaurant and the service. This is not one of my places I plan to eat at again if I come to Atlanta. I hope they train their staff with better customer service.
