Definitely the worst Corner Bakery I have ever (not) been to. Hear me out. I have ordered delivery for this location twice. The first time my kids sandwich had probably half the foil it should have so I received it open and the bread was hard by the time I ate it. The chocolate skim milk I ordered came as regular milk. The dressing to my chopped salad was some kind of weird mustard oil dressing. And the kettle chips I ordered turned out to be Lays. STILL I tried again. Granted this time wasn't as bad. But I ordered a monster cookie and got a chocolate chip cookie. And my pasta was half as full as it should have been. Oh and no utensils. The problem here isn't the food. This was my first time and I was quite please :) The food here was pretty good, I really enjoyed my Anaheim scrambler. The coffee was DELICIOUS. That's all. The overall ambience was nice too, I can totally see why a lot of students like this place -- looks like a great study spot. The portions were a little bit smaller than I had expected. I think most places that serve brunch-y food have huge portions but this wasn't. But also Corner Bakery seems a lot more affordable than fancy brunch restaurants. We decided to try this place because I got a buy-one-get-one-free coupon and it had been a few years since I visited Corner Bakery and had good memories of it. After dining today for lunch I'm glad we had a coupon because I ultimately felt oversold from reading the menu. The menu sounds amazing with all the different sandwich, soup, salad, and pasta options, and how you can do pairings of whatever you want. But once we received our food I was underwhelmed by the quality and portion sizes which were slightly below expectations. The 2-item combinations are only $8.99 which sounds great but the portions are on the small side. I got a combination with tortilla soup which was very good but came in a very small cup with tortilla strip chips. I got it with the Santa Fe Ranch salad which was actually a good size, but the salad was the same quality as the Southwestern salad at McDonald's, with lots of chopped iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheddar. It came with slices of chicken and corn relish and avocado ranch which gave it a bit of a boost but it still felt like a McDonald's salad. My partner's combination however was disappointing. He got a half sandwich of the Ham and Swiss Pretzel and it was TINY. He got it with broccoli cheese soup which was just okay. We got the feeling that the sweets here would be worth it as they look large and delicious, but I definitely felt like we could have gotten better portion sizes and value going somewhere else. read more

I came here on a Friday morning for breakfast. Ordered the Anaheim breakfast sandwich and a slice of of cinnamon cream cake on the app (super easy to download and use). The order took about 15 minutes. Restaurant is located down the street from UCLA medical center and has street metered parking. Restaurant is large with tables and booths and is clean. The Anaheim breakfast sandwich was delicious. The sour dough bread was toasted perfectly and filled with eggs, veggies, cheese. Only cimplaint is that it's too small! I literally ate the sandwich in 8 bites. Now the cinnamon cream cake slice was my morning dessert. Dense, but soft and a hint of sweetness. My favorite part is the top where you can really taste the cinnamon and sugar. This would be delicious warmed up. Today we had a Mother's Day Tea event held at Ellarslie Mansion Home of the Trenton Museum in Cadwalader Park. Corner Bakery supplied all the food for this event. Justin - The store Manager and Rob, were very professional and great to work with. The delivery came on time. They included everything from the Hot and Cold Teas, gourmet tea bags, lemon, honey, and sugar. They supplied enough condiments, salad dressings, plates, cups, and napkins. I keep going back here because (1) I love the name, (2) there are lots of them near me, and (3) I get hungry. So Diane and I got out of the movie and wanted a coffee.... with a bit of sweet. They were sort of sold out of many of the desserts but we got a piece of cinnamon swirl cake and a piece of pumpkin pound cake. The cinnamon cake didn't have enough cinnamon for me, but the texture was nice and it had a crusty top. The pumpkin pound cake was really heavy and cakey and moist and had a strong taste of pumpkin and spices. They were both really tasty and we enjoyed them with a nonfat caffe latte. What a disappointment. I've been going to Corner Bakery for years. Haven't been in a while (covid). Went this morning for breakfast. It was the worst breakfast I've had anywhere! Anaheim Scramble. I was at the Temecula, CA restaurant. 1. Eggs were so rubbery and scorched, they could have probably bounced off a wall. They were even a bit cold. Inedible. 2. Tabasco packets: Granted, not really their fault but the packets are so hard to open that when it finally opened, it squirted all over my clothes. I hate these. 3. Toast was sliced so thin and was so tough, it was hard to eat. 4. Potatoes were mushy and rubbery at the same time (go figure). My friend, who had breakfast with me also complained about the food. It was really terrible. I probably won't be going again for breakfast, or may not even for lunch. I could have had a better breakfast ad McDonalds and not spent $30 on inedible food. I've always wanted to try this place, but what forced my hand was the free Spicy Asian Pork Sandwich offer that they had going on a few weeks ago. For free, I got half a sandwich, plus chips, and a cookie (free cookie from signing up for their ecafe). I also ordered a small coffee since I felt bad for not paying anything. The place itself is located right in the heart of Westwood, pretty close to campus. Thus it definitely seemed like a popular study spot. The design and food really reminded me a lot of Panera, a similar cafe chain. I sat down at a table with the intention of studying a bit. One thing I noticed right away was that there weren't a lot of power outlets. I could be wrong, but I only saw outlets by the small tables that were lined up along the small walls in the middle (already all populated by UCLA students with laptops). The sandwich was refreshing though. I really enjoyed the asian fusion like aspect of it. I thought the pork packed a nice punch and was tender enough to go well with the bread. I didn't use the sour sauce that was given though. I felt that the flavor of the sauce would totally overpower the sandwich, and this was confirmed by my friend who also got the same thing except drenched in the sauce. Overall the food seems to be great. I didn't have a good sense of the overall pricing of the place since my meal was essentially free. It also seems like a popular study spot although I personally like places with more outlets if I plan on going there to study. Yay! Just graduated from my department and was feeling rather hungry. Now that Cafe 1919 at UCLA was closed for the year, I needed somewhere else to get a panini fixing. Luckily Calvin T. suggested Corner Bakery as having some legit ones, so we quickly moseyed on down wearing our cap and gowns. I didn't realize this place was a chain, and I must say that I was impressed with their freshly pressed paninis. The bread was baked and had deep grill marks sunk into its surface. I ordered the combo, which includes half a panini/sandwich with your choice of soup. My chicken pesto panini was crispy and tender, and I could definitely taste the difference from other paninis I've had! YUM. For my soup, I chose Chicken Noodle, and it complimented the heavy panini quite well. This Corner Bakery is pretty big, so space is plentiful. Highly recommend ordering a combo meal (it's less than $9) so that you can enjoy a hearty sandwich with a bowl of warm soup on the side. Went to eat this morning and ordered a breakfast plate. The potatoes were super cold and so were the eggs. I went to complain to the staff and instead of offering me a fresh plate they just stuck the one I already had inside the microwave and when they gave it back to me the food was boiling hot. Definitely never going back there again. The staff is very unprofessional and the cooks need to get retrained on how to properly handle and cook hot food. My go to meal from here that's never failed to get the spot is the mac and cheese w/ tomatoes and bacon. The entree side is enough for two filling meals for me. It also comes with a slice of roasted garlic bread. Pro tip 1- If you sign up for their newsletter, they often send out coupons for free baked goods. Have to say that this corner bakery sucks! After ordering and paying almost $90 for 4 meals the girl that worked the register walks over and politely tells us the restaurant closes at 5 pm. I address this to the supervisor I guess on duty and he states "sorry but that is what the signs says on the door". Who looks at all the signs on the door from wear a mask to a food score card. The door is covered with signs and stickers. Where do the UCLA students eat as well as the general public.
