Came here for dinner with a friend, very small high quality Italian restaurant in Fidi. I liked that considerably it was cheaper than most Italian places in NYC. I got the lobster ravioli which was delicious but there was a lot of other stuff that also looked yummy on the menu. Friend and I shared the burrata which was also very good. Pinning this as a great Italian spot, service was good and prices were good.

You can tell how it's undercooked in this pic and what's up with all of that oil?

Cotenna is now offering pizza nextdoor and it's called Briciola. We ordered for our group today and unfortunately, no one was pleased with it. The dough was undercooked, they forgot to add parmesan on top and for the bresaola topping - they give you 3 small 1/4th slices (exactly 3) for the entire pizza so the majority of the pizza doesn't have the topping. So, not only was the dough not cooked properly (you can see in the pics that it's under which is why it didn't puff up) and it wa a lack of toppings, but when we called, we didn't get any follow up. We wanted to love their new pizza offerings but unfortunately, it's a no go.

Cruising the streets at 6pm and found this restaurant, luckily they had two seats at the window, looking out to the street. My son and I had the dinner special, shrimp and crab pasta and a bottle of Gavi. Amazing fresh hand made food, highly recommend this restaurant.

The best meal we had in New York City. Based on prior reviews, we ordered: - the octopus salad: grilled octopus in well balanced salad with nice flavours - lamb chops: absolutely bomb. Perfectly cooked with flavours that seep through - the best lamb I've had in a while - truffle gnocchi: decadent, a bit heavy for one person but perfect for sharing - tagliatelle bolognese: excellent complexity and depth of flavour to the sauce Overall everything was absolutely delicious. It's a cute and cozy spot, good for a date or intimate gathering with friends. Service was very good. Will happily return next time I'm in NYC!

I went here for dinner to catch up with a friend. It's a cute small vibe with incredible food and service. The waiters checked in on us regularly, and knew what to recommend. We got burrata to start with. It was one of the creamiest burrata I've had. I got the bolognese and my friend got the gnocchi. I am definitely coming back!

Better than most pasta. These dishes as takeout were better than half the sit down dine in pasta I've had in this city, if that alone doesn't deserve a high rating I don't know what does. The bolognese and the broccoli rabe n sausage orchiette were both stellar. I will definitely be in to experience the restaurant soon.

Small, hole in the wall restaurant. I love the octopus salad dressing and the mounds of microgreens were fresh. Well deserving of a Michelin bib gourmand

I had a great time dining alone at the bar. I thought the food was excellent and I appreciated the wine selection. Fine service and it definitely started to get busy as I left and it's quite a small space

Small place in west village Had reservations but asked if we wanted to sit at the bar Hostess started the meal in negative fashion since restaurant was pretty empty Ordered tagliatelle octopus salad and tuna tartare All pretty good 8/10 considering price Just felt a bit rushed through it all No bread service - kind of odd If on a budget decent place but much better Italian restaurants in the city

One of hidden gems of west village side of things. I only discovered spot from my co-worker when we had our offices around the corner. The lunch specials were spot on; pasta was always on point. Staff amazingly generous and nice. Always good place to go for dinner/lunch. Highly recommend

Great little Italian wine bar and Italian spot in the West Village! We got in as a walk in on the Sat after V-Day but got the corner seats at the bar, which we didn't mind. But probably best to make a reservation. We each got our own quartino of wine (glass and a half) and shared the kale and pecorino salad and the tagliatelle bolognese. Both delicious and definitely recommend. I think you're supposed to get bread but they must have missed us. We didn't need it anyway. Great spot for a date or a more intimate spot to get together with a friend.

Everything here was delicious! It is a very intimate restaurant. It seems like a really nice place to have a date night or a small girls night. The waitress was also really sweet and tentative to us especially since we were a larger party. All of us loved each dish that we got, including all of the appetizers and the dessert. The drinks were also really strong and tasted really delicious. I would come again if given the chance :)

Really this is a 4.5 because of affordability; for a WV pasta spot to all be sub $20 is fantastic. It's a small charming venture, usually you don't need a reservation but it isn't big so doesn't hurt to make one. The bruschetta was pretty simple but oh boy, that cheese was delicious. The pasta dishes we got were solid; not really wowing but I was pleased with the quality of a quick neighbourhood spot. I probably wouldn't itch to come back here, but it's just a convenient cheap nice going out meal so it can be added to the rotation!

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

We started with the housemade focaccia and Wagyu carpaccio--both were outstanding, with the perfect balance of crispy, flavorful, and fresh elements. My partner and I shared the pasta, hangar steak, and potatoes, which turned out to be the ideal amount for two. We finished with the famous olive oil cake, which we loved for its subtly sweet, moist and tender bite. Served with lightly whipped cream and raisins, the combination was surprisingly delicious. We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

I read the reviews mostly good so I was hoping for the best. My friends and I were not disappointed. The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. I am not really a pasta eater but baby that dish could change that; it was DELICIOUS. I even liked the anchovy dressing on my Caesar Salad and I dislike anchovies. All the dishes ordered (chicken parm, mussels chicken paillard etc.) everyone enjoyed them immensely. The only negative was when the Chicken Paiikard arrived it was supposed to a shared dish by the elderly couple and they asked for regular dinner plates from one of the servers. It took the gentleman who took our order to step in and said sure, lucky their food was still hot. Common Sense is not so common for all. But this will not lower my rating as it was taken care of swiftly. The portions were the perfect size and I was not stuffed but pleasantly satified. We told them the time of our show, food was out quickly, nicely presented, still hot and very tasty. The restaurant was not noisy and had space between the tables. It also had an elevator for those who could not manage stairs. Trattoria Trecolori you will be added to my must go again list! Thank for a wonderful experience!
