I would leave no stars on tonight's review!! And let's make it clear it's for for 9/20/20. I've been a loyal customer for 6 years now!!! But after tonight I'm not sure our family will EVER go back!! Closing in 45 minutes. So of course I order guacamole and chips for my vegan kids and I get an ugly sloppy mess of burnt chips with barely any guacamole . Then my vegetarian child gets a California burrito with no dairy... and of course NO guacamole at all ! The five. Rolled tacos had barely anything on them. Over priced junk. What is going on with this place?? It use to be delicious with great service. Now you can't even get a decent payed for dinner. ASKING FOR TIPS AT THE DRIVE THRU? Get out. Let me start by saying this place has great food. Really good beans, best bean and cheese burrito in all the land, good tortillas, good California burritos, and they'll even do burritos in a bowl if you ask them. I've been coming to this place for like ten years for a reason and it's also our #1 doordash spot when we're too lazy to get in the car. But lately they think we should be tipping them at the drive thru. It's hit or miss and it's only one girl with the long curly-ish hair who does it, but she goes out of her way to get the card reader device from the inside of the store (dining in front counter) and brings it to the drive through in hopes you'll click the recommended 20% tip that pops up. You're freakin high. I'm a great tipper in acceptable circumstances but I'm not paying you a tip for handing me a bag. This is getting out of hand. Good food but that is a huge turnoff and all of our neighbors are complaining about her. My order also seemed a little pricier than usual and she didn't give me a receipt. Get lost, tip girl. Well. Didn't want to have to write this review. But you mess with the one thing I order and I'm gonna speak up. I love my garlic shrimp. So the owner apparently changed the menu. Removing my "Camarones a mojo de ajo." That's not the problem. I spoke with the lady and she said on no you can still order it and we'll make it. That made me very happy. I order this plate 3-4 times per week. Comes with a salad.... rice and beans. I just opt for extra beans no salad. The tortillas are nice and large they can wrap my face. The plate is supposed to be garlic shrimp in butter. That's it. Sometimes they don't provide enough butter which makes it dry. About the beginning of August I noticed a change in the recipe. Apparently they added a green paste to the dish. The paste tastes like pesto but I am repeatedly told it's cilantro. And there is no way NOT to request this new paste put on my favorite dish. I tried to like it but only ordered the dish twice before giving up. I now have to got to La Jimenez without a drive-thru to get the plate done correctly. I have been getting this plate since I was a kid in Ensenada, Mexico and you won't find any images on Google prepared with green paste. read more

Disgusting food don't waste your money here! This place used to be pretty decent, it's been a year or so since I have ate here. Was in the area and decided to stop in for breakfast and was basically served day old or longer food. The breakfast menu states served with beans and potatoes so I asked to confirm what I ordered came with potatoes. The girl tells me no it comes with rice so I asked to have potatoes instead of rice. I didn't know breakfast potatoes were French fries from yesterday marinated in the dirty oil overnight then microwaved. The rest of the food was just microwaved including the eggs. Well we have been here a few times and the first time I didn't think anything about how good it was, the second time I was getting an idea, but the third time really sold me. Visited tonight (3/10/24), and the food was not only excellent but the service was stellar! The business has some wonderful people working there as it was a very quick and helpful experience. So freakin good!!! Bomb!! Just as good as the one in nc and santee. I'm from the hood in sd and them expanding out here is such a treat!!! Kids and i ordered the carne asada super nachos and we devoured it in less than 5 minutes!! So freakin good, dang!!! Chips were fresh, meat was delicious, and one thing i love is how yummy their red hot salsa is!! Yum!! This is the first time actually eating at this location because the couple of times that we came here they were super crazy packed, drive thru & the inside of the restaurant. Service was ok...girl in the front might not look friendly because she hardly smiled and wasn't outgoing but that's ok, she was nice though...just needed to smile more. Customer service is horrible. I was trying to order on doordash, and the menu had no details. For example, it would say "combo #1" and wouldn't explain what that comes with. I decide to call the store, and the lady picks up and goes "Cojitas"... not asking if she can help me or if I would like to order. Anyways, I ask my question about doordash. She didn't seem interested in helping me figure out the menu. She just said "oh yeah idk why it's like that on the app". So we get off the phone, and I proceed to place my order, and it wouldn't accept my order. I kept trying to press order on doordash, and it would reject it. I ask my friend to try on his app, and the store didn't even pop up on his search. So what they did was they turned off their doordash tablet because they didn't wanna deal with the hassle of a delivery order. Pathetic business. Most likely employee ran. We ordered carne asada fries & a BCR burrito w/ a side of hot carrots. I love hot carrots, couldn't wait until I made it home to try them. Smh. OMG I had to spit it out. We love Cotijas. We moved to Menifee a year and a half ago from San Diego. SD has the best Mexican food. Menifee does not have really any good Mexican restaurants. We are so so happy we discovered the Cotijas in Murrieta about a month ago. We use to go to Cotijas in San Diego all the time. All the food we had from Cotijas is delicious. I absolutely love this place and can't understand why the rating is so low. I come here often because I work in the area and every single time they come thru, the chicken hard shell tacos are my favorite but everything Ive ever had is so delicious. The salsas are great! The portions are pretty big! The food looked and tasted great, I wish I had taken a picture! Let me tell you about the ladies that work there! First time I have ever left a 1 star for any business. In this case, 1 star is too high. I purchased some food from this place on the 17th of April. I went through the drive through and purchased tacos and a nacho plate. My family and I sat around enjoying our food until my 4 year old daughter screamed - with horror! BUG DADDY!! To our horrific amazement, a bug was mixed in with our nachos. The gross part...., the bug was at the bottom of the nachos. We ate almost the whole plate before we noticed. We called the store immediately to let them know what we found. To our surprise we were met with a rude worker denying the bug could be from their restaurant. When I asked to speak with a manager she explained she was the manager. The manager did nothing to rectify the issue. At this point, I decided to drive back to the restaurant and show the manger the actual bug. When I got to the restaurant I was amazed to find that the "acting" manager was not the person I spoke with. The actual manager was a woman named Marlene. Marlene was polite and apologetic. However as I was showing Marlene the bug, the coworkers were giggling and snickering in the back. I actually said to Marlene, "why are they laughing??" This isn't funny??..Marlene spoke to them in Spanish and they stopped. In the end, Marlene refunded our $14.00 dinner. I explained to Marlene that if this situation had been handled with a little courtiousy, and customer service, we would have been happy. However, because we were treated rudely, and laughed at when I brought the bug in...They get the 1 star they so duely deserve.. Advice: Stay away from this establishment! The customer service is poor but the quality of food is darn right disgusting!! read more
