Fantastic place. We ate here on January 2nd and it was somewhat busy. They're handling COVID regulations pretty good so it's safe IMO. We had a the large combo with an extra pound of shrimp and between 4 hungry people not a single piece of food was left. The crusty crab. Caugh I mean crafty crab! The inside of this place was nice and clean. Didnt have any fishy smell at all. They have wooden plank walls everywhere that your allowed to write on! Their menu is a little short but has everything you might need for a seafood boil. Keep in mind, they have a steamer in the back so it's not actually boil everything arrives steam cooked. The crab arrived and was crisp and easily snap the legs right open! Shrimp was a little overcooked and served with a full head. Well I don't mind a little head, rip it off. Ths shrimps head was a little disturbing for my wife. There's only three flavors to choose from but the 4th when you can mix all the other three together. Every time someone's food is ready there's a loud boat horn you hear coming from the kitchen. Which is as excitement every time you hear it come in you think it's just my crab is a my crab. This was by far the best food I had eaten in our county in a long time. We drove 40 minutes from Rockledge to Palm Bay Road because a friend talks about this place all the time and drives down there at least 3 times a week to eat. This little gem beats Joe's Crab Shack and every single seafood restaurant on Port Canaveral. I am so excited about this place and ready to go back with my daughter. Just left this place and I am soo satisfied. I had the snow crab with buttery garlic and Cajun sauce and it was delicious. I got spicy and for me- it was not spicy but it did have a bit of spice. The crab was perfectly seasoned. It came with a bib and gloves. My fiancé got the chicken tenders and he said they were really good too. The waitress (forgot her name) was really nice and attentive. Buffett First, Melbourne Seafood opened and provided an awesome experience with awesome food, then the imitators came (flattering, but falling short, and now, apparently, the idiots have arrived. I never will understand why hosts/hostesses insist on sitting morbidly obese people at booths. Maybe it's like Chris Farley in David Spade's jacket...it looks funny? Anyway, squeezed into a booth, I asked for a table and my request was reluctantly granted. I perused the menu while waiting upon my server. the menu looked delicious, but being a bit of a zetetic, I was willing to wait until all was said and done before jumping to any conclusions. Soon enough my server, Michelle, appeared with a sour personality intact to ask if I was ready to order. I was in the process of placing my request with Michelle when I noticed off to the side, in full view of the dining public, the owner was verbally assaulting an employee. This is something that should be done in the back, in private, not in the middle of your dining room! I felt so sorry for that employee regardless of what they did or didn't do to warrant such a public berating. Pulling my attention back to the task at hand, I placed an order for 1 pound Dungeness crab boil with a side of sausage and corn. As I sat awaiting the return of Michelle I couldn't help but think that her sourness was due to the management style of the owner. Nevertheless, I don't rate on anything other than food and that is a very, very good thing for this asshat of an owner. It wasn't too long before Michelle returned bad mood and all with my food. Asking if I needed anything else, she turned to check on her other patrons while I prepared to dig in. The Dungeness, while undoubtedly frozen (based on location and price) was extremely tasty and not at all freezer burned. They were steamed to the perfect temperature, cracked open along the pre splits easily enough, and the meat was tender, sweet and downright delicious. It was seafood Utopia for sure. The 1/2 pound of sausage on the side was also, no doubt, of the frozen variety (as they are a small chain along the Eastern Seaboard) and also cooked correctly and tasty. The half corn cob was frozen and seasoned but had the consistency of previously frozen corn on the cob and therefore was not all that refined on the to the taste. My server did not open the container, unlike the other crab slingers where I have ordered a crab boil (see above). I don't know if this is their policy, or if Michelle just didn't feel like it. However, this did not detract from the overall tastiness of the boil itself. The food was cooked properly, the seasoning popped in the mouth and the portion size was good. Again, it's a good thing for this Crafty Crab location that the Big Boy only rates food and not everything else. From verbally demeaning an employee in the front of the house, to the server with a bad attitude, the whole experience was not all that enjoyable. On the other hand, the boil was scrumptious!! My family had stopped coming here because the service and food fell off since they first opened. Today was much of the same. The restaurant I wanted to go to was closed so I came here (against my better judgment) because I was in the area and didn't feel like driving far. I ordered a fried shrimp basket and the shrimp wasn't cooked all the way through and the batter was soggy. My waitress didn't come back after she dropped off my food. I had to ask for utensils. When I was leaving I asked to speak to the manager and was told the manager left for the day. This is my last time patronizing Crafty Crab. I'll go to Ozzies or drive to Crab Stop in Vero. read more

They shuck their corn, not taking the easy way of using flavorless frozen. Word to the wise, their cajun spicing runs warm, so stick to mild if you're timid! So far the worst crab boil house we've been to. Ordered calamari rings and they brought out these teeny tiny little things that look like fruit Loops. We tried Crafty Crab for dinner this evening. The atmosphere is nicely "Crab house" despite being in a strip mall. It was fairly quiet; they had about a dozen full tables and a large party. We started with a dozen raw oysters. It was nice to find those locally. They were a little tasteless for oysters, and the waiter brought lemons instead of horseradish. We still enjoyed them. I ordered the blue crab. It's pretty hard to find locally anymore, so that was exciting. You get to choose a spice - I chose garlic - and a spice level - I chose mild. My husband got headless shrimp in garlic without spice. The dinners are boiled in a bag which is interesting but a bit messy. The potatoes in my bag just disintegrated and it was like spicy potato soup. The corn was quite delicious though. For picking the mild spice, I found it was just too spicy for me. I do like spicy food, so I would recommend that mild lovers get the spice on the side. My husbands was perfectly spiced. Just a not that I found the garlic flavor close to old bay. My crabs were slightly over cooked but still quite delicious. They were large and had a good bit of meat on them. The shrimp were also a little over cooked but still tasty. Our waiter left a lot to be desired and was the big disappointment of the night. We got ignored and were missing things we asked for. I felt he was pretty new at the job.
