So the food and atmosphere were amazing. I'd never had a boil before so it was totally new for me. I came in at lunch and sat solo at the bar and the service was horrendous. I asked if I could pay extra of different sides the hostess/ bartender straight up said no, didn't have any input on food when I asked. I love it. Even when ordering take out for a decently large group, the food is ready for pick up quickly. It's not much pricier than what you'd pay to make a home made seafood boil, but the extra money is worth it when you actually want to have time to hang out and not spend the entire party cooking and cleaning. The seafood is always cooked really well and all of the sauces are great...the corn and potatoes are always perfect. I've never been disappointed by the blue crab, king crab legs or crawfish, they're tender every time I've had them. The spiciest boom sauce is what I'd recommend if you're into a little heat. If you get an extra side of sauce, it tends to be more flavorful. As far as the sauces go, I'd love for them to be a little less salty (we can always add more salt & seafood itself tends to be salty). Not easy to critique, because the flavor is so incredibly good. The service was insanely slow and there was one other table. Crawfish were mealy. Nothing tasted fresh. We haven't been back, which is so sad because boils are so good when done correctly. But service dirty shellfish is almost unforgivable because it's so easy to just let clams sit and spit. For a town that literally sits on the oceanfront, getting bad seafood is sacrilegious, but sadly, seems to be acceptable. I wish we could have had the same food from the first visit. read more

Stopped in yesterday for lunch. We started with the calamari. Light breading, not over cooked, good flavor. They were served with cocktail sauce which was disappointing but they were good. I had the oyster basket with sweet potato fries. The oysters were definitely frozen. They were a little heavy on the breading, nothing like the calamari. No flavor at all. The sweet potato fries were good, just plain. My boyfriend ordered the crab & whole shrimp boil with medium Cajun spice. It came with plenty of food, hot with good flavor. He enjoyed it. All together we ended up paying over $65 for lunch! Wow! Waitress was Brenna, she was pleasant and checked on us often. This place is very reasonably priced. The decorations are nice and it makes you feel comfortable in your eating environment. Once you learn the menu and how to order it makes it a better experience. There's not a lot of variety but what they do offer is good food made a good way. Some of the servers are not as attentive as others but they get the job done. If you need anything extra like cocktail sauce or tartar sauce make sure to ask for it because it's not voluntarily given, but once you do receive it all the sauces are pretty tasty. I loved the decor and ambiance. The place is much bigger and nicer than the outside lets on. While it has a nice feel inside, it also has a laid back vibe - plastic cups, paper towel rolls, buckets for scraps, bibs. However, everyone is bibbed up and digging in. I immediately felt comfortable getting messy with the boil bag. Boom sauce is the only way to go, by the way. Our waitress was amazing. Attentive, informative, funny, kept our drinks full. And she gave us Sharpies and encouraged us to write our names on the wall before we left. The only con is the price. Seafood restaurants are typically pricey though. Crafty Crab also charges for extra sauce....lame. If you go in knowing it isn't cheap, you will be fine. I'd recommend getting the shrimp if you're hungry because you get more in a pound of shrimp than in a pound of crab legs as far as meat goes. It was a fun experience, tasty seafood. We got seated right away and my mom was blown away by the crab boil seasoning. We got 1 lb. of the crab and shrimp combo with garlic butter sauce. We were both stuffed when we were done. Luckily my wife and I ordered the "small" sampler and a half dozen steamed oysters all "boomed" - I like oysters raw, she does not. Took a while for the food to come out but the waitress, yes that is a word BTW, did a good job keeping an eye on us and the drinks filled. The "small" sampler killed us both - we ate and ate and finally had to say "I can't eat anymore".
