I've been to strawberry croissant heaven and it's here at Cream Pan. There's no better way to describe these flaky sweet mouthfuls of joy beyond the perfect combination of strawberries to cream to the flaky croissant breading/dough. The other pasties are also top notch. I prefer Cream Pan to other similar bakeries because the food here is so much more flavorful! We have only visited the Tustin location and yes, there usually a line but the employees are efficient and moves quickly. I try to always come here when I go to the Tustin Area. The curry buns are so bomb. Both flavors are good the chicken and the beef. I've tried some of their other items such as the onigiri and the almond pastry which were both good. I also liked the tonkatsu curry over rice. I even brought the curry buns up from socal to norcal and my family thought it was the best curry bun they ever had. Really good prices too and lots of spaces to park. I have been coming here since they first opened at this location. Bad news, they moved in right next door to my gym, I would leave the gym early in the morning on the way to work, pick up a few pastries for the office, I soon realize my waist size was increasing when I was going to the gym regularly. Tustin's very own!! A gem in the heart of old town Tustin. (Don't worry it's very easy to locate). I love this little family owned shop! I've been missing Japan a lot and this gives me a small nostalgic feel to it. A lot of reviews talks about the long wait for cream pan, but I usually go during the middle of the day 12-3pm which is little to no wait! When you arrive, you go In line and wait until someone assists you and from there you can order your bread. They also have a small refrigerated section for Japanese style sandwiches and foods that you can grab from. I ordered a few different items: Azuki Cream Pan: it's a red bean bun filled with whipping cream. The red bean balances out the sweetness of the whipping cream but all together it's not overly sweet! This is a great dessert-y bun and I recommended you try it! Strawberry Croissant: this is the real deal here! It's what this place is known for and why many stand in a long line. It's a great cream pudding with strawberries on top in a flaky croissant topped with powdered sugar! Ugh I love this so much! Beef Curry Pan: this one was a little downer. (But maybe bc I had it cold and it wasn't the same) I'll definitely give it another try but the curry inside is really tasty. I don't blame them, I should've warned it up. Cream Pan: omg!!!! It actually pains me that I haven't written a review for Cream Pan yet because it's my favorite bakery in Orange County! My family and I pop in at least once a week and our usuals include their ham & cheese croissant, butter croissant, blueberry muffins (my dad swears they're the best he's ever had), the strawberry croissant (a must try!), and even a loaf of their bread (so perfect with some jam at home). All of the employees are so friendly and kind which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. I did not like this as much as the strawberry. The center was to soggy. Cream Pan - $1.70 - Lightly sweet bun filled with custard. Custard was thick and creamy and perfectly sweet. Azuki Cream Pan - $2.50 - Bun stuffed with red bean and whipped cream. Very heavy and filling. Cream Puff - $2.50 - More expensive then Beards Papa but just as good. In fact, you'll never know there was ever anything special about it. When open, you can find a line of people patiently waiting their turn for bread. Suddenly you become curious. I am here to let you know that it's okay to be curious and to go and line up. If you're looking for a snack, they have amazing pastries or some rice balls for you to try. If you're starving, they also serve food and the crowd favorite is the curry katsu. We opted for trying the pastries and ordered one of their best selling pastries. 1) Melon pan is a good mix of fluffy and sweet. The flavor of melon isn't so overpowering and not overly sweet. 2) Strawberry Croissant is flaky and sweet. The strawberries are perfectly red and surprisingly normal. They were clearly glazed but the glaze doesn't overpower the strawberries but just adds to the natural flavor. 3) Cream pan was not my fave of the four. It was just too sweet for me but I can definitely say to those with a sweet tooth to order it. 4) Azuki pan is a red bean filled, croissant like pastry with cream on top.
