Crown Donut is the pinnacle of donut shops. This is a Family owned and operated hole in the wall with impeccable service and peak coffee & donut selection. Every time anyone steps foot into this shop, we are always greeted warmly and treated with respect. The folks here take my order with care and are patient when I try to decide which donuts I should get for the fam. The heart and soul in this shop is everything. They have gluten free donuts on the weekends which has become the highlight of my Saturday mornings (as someone with Celiac disease). As someone born and raised in Austin and a witness to how the city has changed drastically over the years, it fills my heart to see a classic family owned business like this still around. The included picture is from this past Xmas morning when I snuck out of the house to surprise everyone with donuts. Crown Donut was the only shop that was open and I've never had a better cup of coffee!

Stopped here while on vacation and I kept going back, an amazing donut shop. I'm a kolache girl so I tried those first and they were amazing very yummy and delicious. I would say everything is a good price and customer service is awesome, the people that work there are so nice and make you feel welcomed!! Very cute little shop and nice chill spot for a quick breakfast. Will defiantly come back when I'm in Austin.

What a find! I hadn't attempted to visit Crown Donut because there just isn't much inviting about the outside that I [mistakenly] assumed that they weren't very good. But I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered multiple things even though I was only ordering for 1. haha. There was a previous review that said they didn't have much variety...have you seen their menu? They have a ton of options! I got two different breakfast tacos and you can essentially order whatever combo you want. I also got the blueberry donut holes. The breakfast tacos were made to order with plenty of filling and nice and hot. The blueberry donuts were excellent. They also have kolaches and drinks etc. So many options. I wish they were open on the weekends because that is when I'm more likely to have time to stop here. Bonus is that they have a drive-thru! Overall I was happy with Crown Donut and will be back!

    Gluten Free donuts. Wow!!!

Crown donuts was sold to new owners and they no longer offer gluten free donuts. So sad. We will miss this birthday tradition.

This was our first and last time going to Crown donut. We got a variety of donuts, a kolache and other baked goods. First off, the variety was limited and they were out of several things we wanted to try. It was nearing 10am on a Sunday so I could forgive them for that if everything else went well. Unfortunately from stepping into this place, I wasn't too hopeful. Behind the counter felt incredibly dirty, faucet was dripping, stacked containers with dried food on the outside, not appetizing. I've been to some run down places with good donuts so I didn't just walk out. We got: - frosted donuts - the kids didn't eat them so I can't imagine they were any close to good since they will eat any donut. They look super doughy and we're rock hard. - donut holes - both blueberry cake and regular - dry, crusty, old tasting - apple fritter - for being basically $3, you would think this would be one of their best items. This thing was inedible, burnt, dense, oily, and so hard it crumbled apart. Something that is supposed to be moist was as dry as the Sahara. Kolache - it was okay, nothing special and even though they heated it up for me, it was warmed through. Cream filled chocolate donut - old Wanted to like it but we'll be going to our normal spot or trying other places.

Gordough's is one of those places that fully commits to indulgence. I was able to place my order online and schedule for pick up. The order was ready when I arrived. Parking was a bit challenging and the lot was full and they charge for parking. Service was quick, casual, just good energy and fast turnaround. I ordered my tried and true Miss Shortcake with their famous cake donut with cream cheese icing and fresh cut strawberries. The donut is so indulgent and was served warm with the most delectable flavor combinations. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. This one was a bit too overindulgent and sweet for my liking but was definitely worth a try. Portions are huge and can be shared as the donut is not as good warmed over. If you're in the mood for dessert and not think about calorie count, then this is the place.

The audacity Story time, Today I went to the original Round Rock location, downtown Round Rock, to buy my son's birthday donuts, It's tradition. Every year on his birthday he gets a dozen half glazed and half chocolate frosted donuts. Then I get a kolache and a dozen donut holes for myself. Well when I pulled up today the line was wrapped around all the way to Mays street. So I just followed the line of cars and got in line. You'd think that a line that long would take a long time but.... Round Rock donuts has this process down to a T. It took less than 10 minutes to get through that line and get my order. And those donuts came out hot and fresh. So did my kolache. Anywho, Don't let the lines scare you away, Just jump in and know they're going to move quickly. Also, If you're planning an office event or any type of event and you want donuts and coffee or kolaches donuts and coffee, Round Rock donuts offers a great menu for large orders and also they have a cake menu for custom cake orders. If you don't want to stay in line in your car you can also park wherever you can find a spot and go to the walk-up ordering window, It's shaded and there's plenty of space to hang out while your order is being made and brought out to you. All this to say, It's a Round Rock Donut, Happy Birthday to my Son!

Why am I going to one in Austin? Well, it's because I am a completeist and I try to go to as many Voodoo Doughnut locations as I can. Austin has two locations but Steve was only willing to tolerate going to one location so we went here. The doughnuts are going to be about the same as any other location however I did come across one that I haven't seen before. I am not sure if it was limited edition or what but I liked it. It was kind of take on a Black Forest Cake but it wasn't cherries that were on top of the doughnut and cream. It was more like blueberries. It was good and I am glad I tried it! I was really hoping to see the Ring of Fire Doughnut as it's my favorite but I didn't see it here. I got more of a powdered doughnut too as I do like their more basic doughnuts too. Steve got something that almost was like a Dubai-esque Chocolate Doughnut. It had pistachios on it and was a chocolate cake. That one was good too! Atmosphere is weird and quirky like all of their locations try to be which I can appreciate. So if you are addicted to Voodoo Doughnuts or have been wanting to try them but don't plan any PNW trips then definitely swing by the Texas locations. More and more locations are popping up all of the time!

The Glazed Yeast (The Prime Donut)......... if a donut maker can't do glazed, you might as well forget about the rest. Fantastic. Perfect. The glaze that flakes though moist and a donut that slightly squishes, pops slightly back and has that perfect texture....... And yes Flavor! Perfect Glazed. Well done. A good size and not a weak donut. I did a fancy chocolate cake donut of the Butterfinger kind. A fantastic blend of a good chocolate cake and the touch of peanut from the crisp. A good combo of about 50/50 share of flavor. Focusing on the cake donut resulted in a favorable chocolate cake donut. Freshness is key. Lastly was a buttermilk bar. Good, just good. I know where to get great. You'll have to read my other donut posts to find out where. Just good. Glaze could improve and the complete cool through would be helpful. The dough was alright, not bad. Good ingredients and a nice flavor. On a level of poor, fair, good to great........ Good.

I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!
