I frequent D'Lites approx 6 times a month. I really enjoy the ice cream. One of the items that I have seen decrease in is the cleanliness of the staff. Today, a girl was making ice cream sandwich cookies, with unloved hands, took my order on the pad, collected my money, and contiued to make the ice cream sandwiches without washing her hands. 3 additional customers came in, she serviced them and continued making the ice cream sandwiches without washing her hands! Not sure if she knows how dirty money is but that is gross!! I hope this does not happen when the owner is around! read more

I've mentioned here and there that I eat low carb. 98% of the time, I have no problems. I love the foods I get to eat, I love the way I feel, and I'm happier for it. But sometimes I would like to go somewhere and be able to eat a dessert in public instead of eating Breyer's Carb Smart ice cream from a mug in a hoodie at my computer. I want to be able to do it on the fly, without packing a bar of Lily's stevia-sweetened chocolate in my purse and hoping it doesn't melt on the way. (I'd complain about having Quest bars for dessert, but I can't. They are so good.) D'Lites is my low-carb soulmate haven. I found out about it on Yelp after feverishly searching 'low carb' and 'sugar free' and 'grain free and 'keto' a hundred times. Imagine if you could only eat beans. Your local grocery store only has 3 kinds of beans in stock. You love beans and there are so many things you can do with these 3 kinds of beans. Now imagine you go to a place that has 10 times the number of beans you've ever seen in person. They even have beans that you've only read about online. Just about anything in the store you can eat. That's the magic of D'Lites. I had chocolate ice cream with pecans and sugar free chocolate chips and I just wanted to cry everywhere and eat more. I spent like $50 after buying Quest Bars, CarbQuik, some Moon Cheese, Skinny Crisps and all these other totally keto goodies. I was in heaven and now when I look at my cupboards and see the fruits of my labor, I am still pretty close. D'Lites is such a wonderful place that I swear, I would move to Austin solely to be near it. read more

I've checked in enough times, I might as well review the place. I might as well admit to the rest of the public my addiction to D'Lites. Gotta say, this place hits the spot. I always try the crazy flavors--Samoas (yes, like the Girl Scout Cookies!), 3 Musketeers, Salted Caramel, what have you--and I always go with what I love, vanilla with M&Ms. It's really hard to break from that habit. If you're counting carbs, or points, or calories, or your bites, it's all good on your diet plan. (It's not a diet, it's a live-it!) They have lots of other weird diet foods, if that's your thing. But, really, you only really need to go for the ice cream. Each day has a theme (Girls Scout Cookies, candy bars, circus-themed...) and each day has a different special (buy one, get one free; free toppings...). You really should give it a shot. And get a punch card. I mean, if they have them. Surely I haven't been there enough to have a card half-way punched already. read more

My family and I are absolutely addicted to D'Lites!! We live about 25 minutes away and still manage to make it there about 3-4 times a week. The flavors are always so surprising and fun and taste amazing. The staff is always a delight (ha!!) and the owners are wonderful! My orginial review was just removed because Yelp said it contained secondhand information. In fact, this info was not secondhand. Here is what happened, as I have witnessed myself. Strike one: I bought macaroons with mold on them. They were not expired. I ate one before noticing. That time, they accepted the return. They had a huge garbage bag full of the same cookies that other people had returned. They did the right thing and I wrote it off as a manufacturer's defect in the product. Strike two: My husband and I have learned that we must check the expiration dates of every product at this store because most of the items on the shelf are expired. Someone should be checking this. It is a health hazard. We knew of this but continued to shop there because we liked it and we thought we'd be safe buying products as long as we checked the expiration dates. Strike 3: We bought 2 sugar free syrups from this store. My husband got sick right after trying one. The next day, he thought he'd try it again to be sure that it was the cause of his illness. He got sick again. My poor husband had diahrrea for two days because of the syrups. It is a fact that these syrups are cloudy. It is a fact that they would not let him return the syrups. I guess D'Lites would rather lose 2 loyal customers that used to shop there at least 3 times a week than refund them $15-18 for syrups that caused one of them to get sick. At this time, the refusal of a refund is less shocking to us than the disregard by the employees and management that they are selling products that can make people sick. We have gone from raving fans to warning others. Use caution when buying products here. read more

OBSESSED. Have I been more obsessed with anything since overtweezing my eyebrows in middle school? Nope. 50 calories and 2 net carbs for chocolate or 6 for vanilla?! Keto, #LCHF, Atkins, or just plain a normal American who doesn't want to eat a bazillion calories to have something delicious? This is the place for you. The next best part is the sheer variety of flavors they have. I go here practically once a week now and load up on the "take-homes" which are buy 3 get 1 free on Sunday and buy 2 get 1 on Wednesdays. I've even got a running list in my phone of which flavors I definitely want to buy again (looking at you red velvet ;)) and which flavors I could skip, though none have been bad. I prefer eating the take home to the soft serve in store because I find the texture more pleasing. The pricing really isn't bad for what you get and anyway so on and so forth this is my new happy place. read more

Only 6 flavored to choose from any given day? Never mind the fact that they rotate 4 flavors every day, the selections feel limited and there aren't any fresh fruits to add as toppings. I enjoy going to self-serve yogurt places to get exactly what I want. If I want more selections, I could go to Amy's Ice Cream. I think people who like this place are lead astray. While the allure of no sugar, no chemicals, gluten-free, etc, etc are an attractive thing, there is still a form of sugar in these servings of ice creams whether they are a type of natural sweetener such a stevia or a sugar alcohol, it's misleading and I didn't really appreciate a business making statements like such. It is even fairly obvious, because they post nutrient info for vanilla and chocolate on their wall and these show that there are types of sugars in the ice cream. However they don't list ingredients but will probably tell you if you asked. Do your research before you give in to the advertisements. Flavor-wise they taste like a smooth soft-serve ice cream. D'lite-diet ice cream? Indeed it is, with only 50 calories in a serving. We went there on Thursday and were a little disappointed that there weren't that many flavor choices but according to their board, there were a plethora of options on every other day of the week. The staff was super nice and helpful and gave us samples to every flavor (4) without us even requesting each flavor. I thought this was so considerate because I always feel weird asking for sample after sample but in this case, they just give it to you! Prices for the ice cream are extremely good, considering their "tiny" size is more like an Amy's "medium". Only picky thing is that their toppings are very expensive and there isn't a deal that includes ice cream and topping. D'lite is D'lish! See what I did there? Womp womp... Really though, the owner is so knowledgeable and passionate about all of her products, not just the ice cream, and the ice cream is really yummy! I got the tiramisu with shredded coconut and almonds. This is low-cal stuff, so it's lighter and fluffier than the Amy's or other dairy-heavy ice cream you might be used to. If you're prepping for swimsuit season like the rest of us, do yourself a favor and stop in here. They are also one of the few places in town that sells Quest bars! I hate giving 4 stars, makes me feel like I'm punishing someone for not being OMG perfect - but Dlites is pretty good - not perfect. Let me get the "not perfect" out of the way - the place is new and they're working out some kinks. They don't have enough seating to get busy (something they could remedy with better floor design), and the shop isn't particularly decorated in a cute way. That being said, the ice cream I had was delicious, the staff behind the counter was attentive and friendly and explained everything well, and there were plenty of options to choose from. I tried all of the Friday flavors and settled on the fudge mint with some oreos and I was super happy with the results. Neat selection of sugar free/gluten free/healthy items as well. I'm reasonably well versed in this niche of food products and I must say that their selection is thoughtfully chosen and very well presented. They boast several products that are difficult to find (CarbQuick for one). But I digress. First, the ice cream: It is quite tasty with a satisfaction that completely belies the nutrition counter. No, it isn't Haagen Dazs, but it isn't supposed to be. The goal is an enjoyable dessert that leaves nutritionally vacant calories on the table, and not in your stomach. The flavors are versatile and surprisingly authentic. Our 7 year old, who can sniff out ersatz vanilla from a mile away, gobbled all of his down and started to go after mine. There is a healthy selection (pun intended) of toppings to complement your dessert. Shakes and Sundaes are also options. Added bonuses include the WiFi, the Texas Traders Coffee (a purveyor 2nd only to Third Coast here in Austin in my book), and top notch customer service. The owner is trying to build a sustainable business, and making his customers happy is job one. I appreciate that. With such an attitude, and a bang-up product, I'll be doing my part to help him succeed. I found out about this place a few weeks ago and I've been there E V E R Y week since!!! I just love this place! The owner and all the workers are helpful and kind. I just love the different flavors and can't decide on a favorite because they have new flavors weekly. I've even tried some of the other low carb substitute products like the tortilla chips and hamburger buns. The tortilla chips are now a weekly purchase and the hamburger buns were just ok so I won't purchase again. Please try it out!!! Their ice cream is specifically for those people who have been eating low carb and/or keto and haven't eaten regular sugar or ice cream recently. I came in one afternoon for some ice cream... Little did I know that it was also low in calories too! The owners were there and they were very nice and informative! They are also very conscious of people's dietary needs. I don't have specific needs, but it's nice that they recognize people that do. I brought my daughter the next day, she loved it! We are from San Antonio and tried this place for the first time today. We had the best experience. On entry we explored all the low carb options on the shelves and we're so excited to see all the the products they offered. When we made our way to the register we let them know it was our first time their and wanted a little bit if information. They enthusiastically told us about everything and the manager offered us several samples. The entire staff and manager we're so helpful, welcoming, and warm. The actual ice cream was amazing! We got the blender which is their version of a blizzard. There were tons of topping to chose from. The ice cream still seemed extremely creamy and flavorful despite being lower in calorie and carb. My wife and I have enjoyed this place for over 3yrs. Enjoying the take homes and daily flavors. I'd suggest to steer clear of the milk shakes. Twice in one week, I've yet to have a milkshake successfully made. I understand it's outside of the standard lever pull of ice cream, but this last time was enough to bring to your attention as a business. I'd suggest taking a look at your cameras. Standing in D'Lites eating my Milky Way flavored Ice Cream I was just so happy and in shock that I did not have to feel guilt or that I was Sabotaging myself.
