This place is one step above other similar places. You can taste the grill on their tortillas, the char on the carne asada and shrimp, the lime zing in their guacamole, and the rice is nice and fluffy. Literally every component of my surf and turf burrito had the one little extra thing that made me pleasantly surprised compared to other shops. read more

I was greeted by a very friendly lady who took my order after delay because they offer extensive menu, prepared my food, and packaged my food to go. Let me tell you, be prepared to have a large meal as they give you a lot of food for the price you pay. I had the special of the day (Enchiladas combo). I was really impressed not only by the size of the meal, but the taste was even more impressive. This will definitely be my go to spot for my Mexican food. We were staying at the hotel (~1.5 miles away). My wife and I were gambling at Pechanga and decided to hit a taco shop on the way back to the hotel. D'Sotos had great reviews and was close to the hotel so we decided why not. BIG MISTAKE! Note: My wife is from Guadalajara and we go to TJ for lunch/dinner on a regular basis so I think it is safe to say we know good Mexican food. This place would not even survive in Chula Vista. We ordered; Two pollo asada tacos: The tortillas were cold and hard with a stale taste to them. The chicken was at room temperature and completely without any flavor at all. They were in these little cubes which tasted like they were cooked several days ago and had been sitting out ever since. They were marinated in some sauce but you could not taste anything but bland dry chicken. this was really bad and something I would expect buying at gas station you have to stick in the microwave. Two carne asada tacos: Like the chicken tacos the tortillas were just as bad. The carne had some seasoning but it just tasted bad. I am actually getting nauseous just thinking about them as I write this review. These tacos too were not even close to warm and almost at room temperature. Two cheese enchiladas: This was a mess of something I am not sure what it was. My wife and I took one bite and both became nauseous. Not sure what canned enchilada sauce you guys use but I recommend changing. ugh!!!!! We also ordered the guacamole on the side which did not come. The salsa they provided was actually pretty good, but it could not even mask the horrible taste of the food. We ended up throwing it all away. I have to believe there is a better taco shop in Temecula than this place!!! If I am ever so hungry I think about eating here I would go to the AM/PM or 7/11 to grab something. They would be a huge step up from this place. I am honestly shocked by all the 4-5 star reviews of this place. I am so happy to have found this place! We recently moved to temecula and have been having trouble finding a good Mexican food restaurant. This is so good! This family of four ordered..... enchiladas, sopes, burritos, tacos, rice and beans. Everything was so good. The rice and beans (being only the sides) tasted authentic. Let me preface this by saying I'm a stickler for service. I don't care how long I have to wait for my food. It's worth the wait. The staff works their tails off to get the food done as fast as possible BUT they do not cut corners. I saw the cook make flautas from scratch... The guy took multiple tortillas, stuffed beef into them, then ensured they were rolled properly, and fried them. Most other drive thru joints throw some frozen bullshit from 1996 into a vat of overused oil and charge you an arm and a leg for some overcooked nasty ass barely edible without salsa nonsense. Make no mistake this is in fact a TACO SHOP do not expect to be waited on. But the people who work here WORK. Someone's gotta make your drunk ass food so it might as well be them. They'll make it taste like Gordon fucking Ramsay laid a magical golden egg that hatched which turned into your burrito or flauta or whatever you ordered. The carne asada nacho chips were all soggy due to the pico de gallo, it hardly had any meat and the guacamole was brown. D'sotos has really good food this is my go to Mexican food and great price. I usually get the chile relleno burrito or shrimp burrito both taste pretty good. Only thing that I will complain is there salsa that the only bad thing about this place they have pretty good food just not the salsa. I wish they can improve there salsa then this place would be perfect. The green salsa taste like water no flavor needs a little bit of salt to it defently not hot at all. Just moved to Temecula and we're looking for a good Mexican place. Saw the 4.5 stars and all the positive reviews. Sorry to say my sister who was dropping by stopped eating after a couple bites. And my wife and I were also not impressed with the taste. Can't pinpoint what's wrong with it but the flavor just wasn't there. The meat tasted a bit gamey and not flavored well, the beans were on the salty side, and the cheese tasted bleh. My wife said her fish tacos were greasy and bland. 7/22/23 @ 3:30 pm. Coming from out of town visiting and enjoying the beautiful scenery in Temecula, my husband and I decided to grab a bite to eat. Mexican food sounded delicious so we began to search out for a high rated eatery. We decided well why not try this place. They have great reviews. Now here is where it gets crazy. Upon our arrival and after parking the car, we both walked to the open window which states "open". We waited and waited. When no one appeared and after multiple "hellos" we began to look around and noticed food laying on the counter not in containers i.e., taco shells just laying on a counter (NO FOOD POISONING TODAY). Interestingly, there were no close signs posted anywhere. At this point, we decided well maybe this is not the place to dine. As we were walking back towards our car, we noticed another car pull into the drive thru. No one came to the window for that customer either. There was another car parked next to ours. There was a woman sitting in the car exchanges eye gazes with us while on her cell phone. After realizing it, this woman wore a D'Sotos restaurant's apron and a hair net. We thought to ourselves "What the Hell" could this be the cook exchanges eye glances with us as she sit in 97 degree weather in a hot car.
