Huge burrito
Vee P.

I was in the area and dropped by to try their breakfast burrito - I figured if I found street parking then it was meant to be, and it was! The parking here is so difficult and I will never park in the back ever again because it's so tight and horrible, with only one lane in/out. I came here before for dinner and really enjoyed the food so I'm glad it worked out for me to try their burrito for breakfast. I ordered two carne asada burritos with egg and it was delicious with their spicy salsa. I love their spicy salsa! The burrito was big and the filling was proportionate. The meat was tender and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, and t[[HIGHLIGHT]]he restaurant was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Chorizo breakfast burrito

One of the best chorizo breakfast burritos I've had! Delicious, Huge-size burritos and each bite just melts in your mouth. They serve it with a side of salsa and pico de gallo. Absolutely delicious and filling! The spot is a hole in the wall type of place with amazing and warm customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very low key spot, but more than makes up for it with service and the quality of food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back!

Nothing but great things to say about this place! The food was delicious! We went in a group and each thing we ordered was cooked perfectly, the flavors were amazing! The staff were very friendly, and helpful, they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food and had all we needed! We will definitely be back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating was perfect![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very clean, inside and out! The place is very well kept![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Huevos con Machaca and a side of chorizo
Allie G.

Really wanted to like their food from the amazing looking pictures on their page. We ordered breakfasts to-go and unfortunately neither plate was what we expected. I ordered the chilaquiles and requested both red and green since it was my first time trying them out I wanted to taste both salsas. I know it's a tricky dish for take out considering texture but we live close by so I wasn't concerned. And as I expected the texture of the chilaquiles was fine. You can tell they'd been drenched in salsa at one point with nice softness but not soggy. However they were lacking salsa once packed and severely severely lacking flavor. All I could taste was a small hint of tomatillo. My husband ordered huevos con machaca with a side of chorizo. I tried the machaca and again it was extremely bland. The chorizo was packed in its casing which was not aesthetically pleasing but at least it had flavor. The only thing that stood out was the rice and beans; now THOSE were delicious. They also don't have cafe de olla which was a bummer for a Mexican breakfast. Overall the only compliments I can give out is for their rice and beans and how generously portions are served. Unfortunately it just totally missed the mark on flavor.

Molcajete de Carne

The molcajete and micheladas were delicious. Everything was affordable as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both the inside and outside were very loud but I expected it nonetheless.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great.

When there are this many five star reviews, you have to pay attention and check it out!!! Be forewarned! This place ain't fancy!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Look past the environment because the food and the service will make you feel like you're dining in someone's kitchen in their home!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And the homemade freshly made tortillas are worth the trip itself!!! I ordered Machaca and eggs which came with a generous side of rice and beans, which were absolutely delicious!!! I also like to order an à la cart chile relleno because it's usually a nice small side. This chile relleno was the size of the plate and was probably the best chile relleno I've had in my life. EVERYTHING was so fresh and filling! Reasonable prices for such generous portions! And the ladies who work there were just lovely and friendly and attentive! This place is a little out of the way up on Parthenia, but it's well worth my drive to come back again and try more things on their menu. Highly recommend!!!

So bomb. This little spot serves up some delicious, authentic Mexican food and man it hits. Good options for all meals including breakfast, and the people are nice. Our to-go order was cooked quickly but they def didn't cut any corners. My rancheros were wonderful from the sauce to the homemade tortillas. We also ordered a burrito and chilaquiiles rojos and everyone loved what they had. Definitely come visit this gem!

Carne asada fries
David T.

Finally some good carne asada fries! Fries and the carne asada seasoned to perfection the sour cream guacamole and cheese complement each other very well! My go too spot when it comes to getting carne asada fries. If you want more flavor put some hot sauce that they give you to give it a kick you won't regret it!

Love seafood and the whole works. I heard they even offer you a bib, to get messy, which I am so down for. Anyway, same thing happened at this restaurant. A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

The space is really quite large. I was happy to see there was a seafood counter with a display case of smoked fish, a couple of dips, aged beef. The guys were super friendly behind the counter. I spotted the cafe area where they serve coffees and teas - I made a note that I had to come back to try that. Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to introduce friends to and serves as inspiration for anyone who loves to cook.

The same fork I'd started eating my salad with. I get the waiters attention and let him know the shrimp are still 'al dente'. Again- I've used my personal fork poking all 6 shrimp as well as touching one with my fingers. Waiter comes back with said SAME SHRIMP. The f'ing chef just threw them back on the grill and they brought them back out to me. Waiter says very proudly 'he tossed them back on, should be to your liking now' Me: he tossed the same shrimp back on the grill??? Proud waiter: YUP! First of all- you don't toss uncooked back onto the grill. You make new ones. RIGHT?????????? Second of all- my FORK from my mouth, touched those shrimp and you just told me those shrimp went back on the grill you use to cook other people's food with ?? Disgusting Pretty sure that's against a law?? The shrimp were absolutely overcooked and now burnt - and you're a fish house. Despite it being a busy spot, we were seated right away, which is a huge plus when you have little ones in tow! The Drinks & Starters We started with the Horchata and the Pineapple Water (Agua de Piña). Both were refreshing, authentic, and clearly made with care. If you like traditional Mexican drinks, these are a must-try. The Food Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and felt incredibly fresh. A standout for us was the homemade corn tortillas--you can really taste the difference! Our table shared: * Mojarra & Pescado al Mojo de Ajo: Perfectly cooked and seasoned. * Lobster Plate: Succulent and generous. * Surf & Turf Tacos: These were a highlight! Loaded with carne asada and creamy guacamole, then topped with perfectly grilled shrimp. Each plate comes with rice, beans, and a side salad, but they are super flexible--we were able to substitute fries for the rice and beans on some plates, which is great for picky eaters or just a change of pace. Service & Atmosphere The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center, so parking was easy to find, which takes the stress out of the arrival. Even though the dining room was buzzing and busy, our waitress was incredibly nice and the entire staff was well-attended to our needs. First and foremost, a huge shoutout to our server, Seth, and the entire team. The service was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Waters were never empty, drinks arrived promptly, and every dish was perfectly timed and coursed throughout the evening. The level of attention to detail elevated an already incredible meal into a truly memorable experience. As for the food, I genuinely don't know where to begin. This might be one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles -- and honestly, it has a strong case for being the best. Every single dish that came out was executed beautifully. We started with the caviar service, which was an easy win from the start. The chips were impossibly light, airy, and perfectly salted, while the onion crème fraîche added an incredible richness that tied everything together beautifully. Next came the milk buns, which were soft, fluffy, and completely addictive. The whipped butter served alongside them was silky, rich, and absolutely perfect. The tiger prawn tostada completely surprised me in the best possible way. It delivered layers of flavor with subtle heat that never overpowered the dish. The prawns were cooked flawlessly, and every bite felt balanced and intentional. Then came the croquettes, which may have officially ruined all other croquettes for me. They were perfectly crisp on the outside while the interior simply melted in your mouth. The accompanying sauce was beautifully balanced and made an already fantastic dish even better. For mains, we ordered the Dungeness crab pasta, which was light, fresh, and elegant. It wasn't trying to be overly complicated, and that was exactly what made it so good. It was a reminder that simplicity, when executed well, can be extraordinary. The pork belly risotto was another standout. The risotto itself was cooked perfectly, and the pork belly somehow managed to be both crispy and melt-in-your-mouth tender at the same time. Every component on the plate worked together flawlessly. We also ordered the corn and roasted potatoes as sides, and somehow even those managed to steal the spotlight. The corn was an absolute flavor bomb, and the roasted potatoes were equally unforgettable. And then came the star of the evening: the tomahawk. Without question, it was the best tomahawk steak I've ever had. The accompanying chili sauce wasn't aggressively spicy like a traditional salsa might be; instead, it was incredibly balanced and complemented the richness of the steak perfectly. Every bite was absolute perfection. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed, but after a dinner this good there was no chance we were skipping dessert. We ordered the French toast dessert, which was delicious with its tangy strawberry syrup and beautifully executed flavors. My only critique would be that I wish it had been served warmer and in a slightly larger portion, because I truly think that would have taken it to an entirely different level. Overall, I left absolutely blown away. The chef, the kitchen team, and the front-of-house staff delivered one of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time.
