I love their braised oxtail soup and braised cold pork. Oxtail soup has so many meats, soup is very flavorful, and oxtail is so soft, easily fell from the bone. The cold pork comes with beef bean paste and marinated raw oysters and lettuce. It's fun to make a pork lettuce warp with your loved ones. They also have variety dishes for you to choose from. 2.20.2024 - Lunch for one. Love trying newly opened establishments. With "Grand Opening" sign still hanging above their entrance door, my heart starts racing as I'm excited to comfort and soothe my soul on a cold rainy day in LA. After not having much of an appetite for 2 weeks, driving down from my mid-week getaway to Santa Barbara got me ready to eat. The place is clean and feels open. It's about 12:20pm, but the place wasn't super packed. It's probably still too new. Upon sitting, I was only served the menu. No water or tea for the longest time. Even after ordering, I had to flag down a server and ask for tea. When asked what their most popular soup item was, the Bone Broth Ugly Beef Rib soup was recommended. So that's what I ordered. They give a nice selection of side dishes which were tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed their salted shrimp or fish dish. It was almost addictive and paired perfectly with a hot bowl of rice. If they had this as a side order, it would definitely be one of the top sellers! When the soup arrived, it was piping hot. For $16 lunch portion, they gave a lot of pieces of meat. The soup was good, but it wasn't "wow, blow-my-mind" kind of broth. I also noticed there were dollops of fat floating around. Several of the ribs ended up being too fatty. And the ratio to soup to rice seemed a bit unbalanced. I don't eat much rice anyway and being that I haven't had much of an appetite, the rice portion still didn't seem enough. Just saw this place had its Grand Opening and decided to try it out for soup. It's in a very convenient location in a tiny plaza off Wilshire and the interior of the restaurant is really well put together! We ordered the Spicy Chef Kang Wagyu Bone Broth Korean Pho, Pork Belly Kimchi Stir Fry, and Wagyu Ox Tail Bone Broth soup. From the start, the kindness we were greeted with made us feel very welcome. The Tea they served us with upon being seated was great and very mellow on taste but hit the spot. The Stir Fry came out first and it was rich with flavor and had a tiny kick of spiciness from the chopped up peppers in it. The soup came out shortly after and was still boiling when set on the table! The Spicy Korean Pho was a little spicy but not enough to make you sweat and the Wagyu Oxtail in the bone broth soup was so tender and fatty. Dasom is the place to go when you just want some good soup for your soul. I've tried several things here and they have all been pretty tasty (my sis thinks is a tad bit too salty but to each their own). They give a good mix of 반찬 (side dishes), which are pretty tasty as well. I've eaten at the restaurant a handful of times and the service is great- everyone is friendly. There's enough room for a large party (like 6-8) but it's also a comfortable environment for solo diners. Their take out is also packed nicely with side dishes...so this is a good option if you want to eat in the comforts of your own home. Based on the pricing trend in the area these days, Dasom is reasonable. - Beef bone broth w/ beef (설렁탕)- my go to. Normally I add salt to my SLT at other restaurants but this one is flavorful/salted so you don't have to. - Seaweed soup aka birthday soup (미역국)- this restaurant is the only place that I've found that sells this soup. Some restaurants provide it as a side (like miso soup) but they have a full portion. Kids love this mixed with rice. - Braised Beef (소 갈비찜) - big portions of beef mixed with some veges in a soy-type sauce (my description sucks- sorry). Really yummy. - Bone Broth Beef Rice Cake And Dumpling Soup (떡만두국)- also another kids favorite. It's also customary to eat this during New Year's. It's rice cakes and dumplings in a bone broth. - Beef Bean Paste Stew (된장찌개)- I don't really care for bean paste but my sis says this is really good (and she's pretty picky). - Chicken ginger soup (삼게탕)- I don't really care for ginger as well but I know this is the soup you go for if you're sick. Chicken and ginger is a popular combo to help fight those nasty viruses. My friend recently had it and she said it really helped her feel better. There are many things I haven't tried off the menu but from the many dishes I've had, I don't think anything off the menu would be a bad choice. I think their "spicy" items are pretty spicy, so beware. They have a private lot that turns into a valet lot in the evenings. It's in a strip mall on Wilshire. There is also a parking lot north of the building but it might be hard to find anything. Street parking is also available, but keep in mind its gridlock zone on Wilshire from 4p-7p. For pick-ups in the evening, valet will let you park your car by their stand for a few minutes. read more

Wonderful experience! I was shocked at how quickly we were seated and served our food because of how busy it looked. What keeps me coming back to restaurants is how clean it is inside , and how well we're treated, and Dasom d it all! The bonus I was not expecting was how HEALTHY and HEALING the "Ultimate Oyster Hangover Soup" turned out to be. Although I was not hungover, I've been feeling very exhausted from the stresses at work, but after eating here , I actually felt rejuvenated and like I had gone on a mini vacation from my highly demanding schedule. This is a review for their to go/uber eats only. Let me start by mentioning that the packaging is sooo good my stir fry pork was still pipping hot and my naengmyeon did not spill at all. On to the banchas, a good testament to the authenticity of the place; I loved the kimchi and stir fried fish cake but everything else was below my usual standards. Huge kudos to Dasom for producing homey food at a reasonable price and nice portions, I can definitely see the appeal to come during lunch for their deals! However, sadly the food did not wow me. The stir fried pork was 80% kimchi and a bit more on the sour side while the naengmyun lacked the subtle flavor burst I was longing for.
