Great place to grab a quick bite and a beer, right near the docks in Juneau. The Rockfish tacos are great. It is basically a food truck with some covered seating, but that makes it quick and a little bit cheaper than the normal tourist traps that line the area. After having the less than average NCL food, it was a welcome relief. Keep up the great work. read more

Fabulous halibut tacos and crispy perfectly seasoned fries!! And you really can't beat the location,especially when the sun decides to grace us juneauites with its presence. The owner is a nice young fella and comes around to clear your trash and see if you need anything else. I Definitely recommend this place for a lunchtime outing during the summer season! read more

Deckhand Dave's is an amazing fish taco stand on the waterfront in downtown juneau. Basically a food truck but with a tent for seating with heat lamps for those chilly days. The tacos are amazing. I had the blackened rockfish which were very tasty and you get a portion of 3 sizable tacos. Tried my sons fried rockfish. Also very tasty and not overly greasy as fried fish can be. Nice selection of alaska beers too. I was on cruise ship and it's close to the dock. Avoid other places nearby that are more expensive and not as good. read more

Sooo good!! Three of us stopped in for lunch while we were visiting Juneau for some fish tacos. I got the 3 fish taco sampler (rockfish, halibut and salmon) and it was delicious!! I think my favorite one was the salmon, but the beer battered halibut was a close second. My mom and brother also enjoyed their orders. Service was great and we didn't wait too long for our order, maybe 20 mins at the most (I think it was less). Dave (as in Deckhand Dave) came out to give us our orders and was a friendly guy. Who'd of thought that the best seafood we had in Alaska would come from a food truck? While all three tacos in the sampler was very good, the haddock was the standout. Dave is a former fisherman and he knows what he's doing. The prices are kinda high -- welcome to Juneau -- and you may have to wait a bit, but it's worth it as a break from the ship fare. read more

Wow- 'Best fish tacos ever" uttered my wife as she finished off her plate of 3 tacos without offering me any - she had the Halibut, while I got the sampler because I couldn't make up my mind. (salmon was incredible) We also shared an order of fries, which were just as good. Got to also spend some time talking to Dave, and he is a terrific young man who will no doubt go very far in the restaurant world should he choose that path. So, bottom line, if you get off a cruise ship, skip the buffet and the touristy stuff, and head over to Dave's for some incredible fish tacos and a pint of real Alaskan beer.
