5/25/25 Monthly Meet-up with the guys and today two Wife's joined us. 14 in the group this morning comprised of a Lawyer, Pilot & Flight Instructor, Clergy, two Veterans, Engineer, and Pharmacist Tech that always make for a lively wide ranging conversation. Love this group! Parking 5/5 Our group meets early before the breakfast rush and there is plenty of spaces available. Food 5/5 Great breakfasts & selections. Food comes out fresh and hot even for a group our size. I had the Philly Cheesesteak omelette and my wife had the Chicken fried steak. Both were excellent. BTW Who would have guessed Denny's offers whole Jalapeños? Theirs were grilled perfectly and had a nice bite too. ; ) Service 5/5 Today our wonderful server was Karen. Im alway impressed how well our server and kitchen do for us to get food out so we can eat together, kudos to the Denny's crew today! Ambiance 5/5 Classic Denny's diner. Special thanks to the Wives who joined us, Mary & my Wife for putting up with our breakfast banter and fellowship. $46.23 with tip. Eat well my Friends- SYOY

I'd been meaning to try this location after seeing a few of my fellow Yelper friends review this place. Just like they said, this place did not disappoint! Serving up quality diner food with friendly service, classic hits, and blast from the past decor. What We Ordered: - Steak & Eggs: Under $20?! Count me in! Seasoned well and cooked perfectly to order for both the over easy eggs and medium rare steak. Breakfast perfection! - Patty Melt: My boyfriend said it was delicious, and the small bite I tried was great. You can tell they season their burger patties. Honestly, we both left very impressed as all the food was seasoned well and cooked beautifully. Who says diner food can't be done well?! Nana Dee's has set the standard for diner food!

Delicious and plentiful food, recommended by Valerie - difficult to get out of our seats to close out and get back on the road, truth be told. Lovely, well-kept and bright American Diner experience with vibrant decor to keep your eyes busy while you have a short wait for your food. I asked for a spinach with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I've never had biscuits and gravy until most recently before this visit. On the two other occasions, I tried it, it didn't stand out. Hoosiers on the other hand did. Their biscuit is most definitely fresh and didn't have that chalky taste. The gravy itself wasn't runny. If anything, it was rich with flavor. Oh what I would give to have another bite of it. What's interesting too is that, the biscuit and gravy was only a side. I loved the cheese and spinach with this omelette. The hash browns also had a crisp exterior. Our server was exceptionally nice too! To think we almost switched restaurants because they were so busy and I had to catch a flight. We stopped in on a Wednesday around 1 PM expecting it to be quiet... and instead found the place happily buzzing with families, pilots, airport staff, and pilots. First thing you notice? The people. The servers have clearly been there for years, and it shows. They greet regulars by name, remember orders, and make everyone feel like they belong there. That kind of service is rare these days and it sets the tone right away. The space itself is cozy but surprisingly roomy. There's a classic countertop (which I absolutely love), plenty of seating, and even outdoor tables for those beautiful Arizona days when you want sunshine and a side of airplane watching. Being right at the airport adds a fun little bonus -- you can catch planes taking off while you eat. Now let's talk about the food -- because wow. The menu is classic American comfort with a Mediterranean twist, and everything tastes fresh, made-to-order, and high quality. I ordered the mushroom burger, which was perfectly cooked and loaded with flavor. One of my sons went classic with a hamburger topped with bacon -- simple, juicy, and exactly what a great burger should be. My other son ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, and that one might have stolen the show. Tender, flavorful chicken wrapped up and -- great touch -- stuffed with fries inside. He absolutely loved it. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and every bite tasted like it was made with care. It's the kind of place where the food is excellent, the service is even better, and the atmosphere just makes you want to linger a little longer. Great food. Friendly people. Cozy vibe. Airplanes taking off in the background. Honestly? Amazing. If you're near Chandler Airport, this spot is absolutely worth the stop.

From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. There was a group of servers standing around chatting, and no one acknowledged us for several minutes. After being seated, it took about 10 minutes before a server came over just to offer water and ask about drinks. We placed our drink order, and while the coffee came in a carafe, it wasn't even hot. The rest of the drinks trickled out later. Then it was another 20+ minutes before the server came back to take our food order. We ordered two simple build-your-own breakfasts and an Ultimate Grilled Cheese (no fries), plus two Cobb salads to go. Nothing complicated--yet the food took a long time to come out. During that entire wait, our server never checked on us once. No updates, no refills, nothing. When the food finally arrived, we ate, and again--no check-in, no "how is everything," no refill offers. Eventually, she dropped the check off without a word. We had to remind her about the two Cobb salads we ordered to go. She said they'd be right out, and a couple minutes later they showed up with a revised bill. Before leaving, we checked the salads--and that was the final straw. For $18, they were basically side salads. No cheese, no grilled chicken, no avocado, no croutons, no green onions, and not even any hard boiled eggs--just iceberg lettuce, a few tomatoes, bacon, and ranch dressing. Completely unacceptable for what's supposed to be a Cobb salad. We waited at the table for about 5 minutes for someone to come back--no one did. So we went up front and stood there another 5 minutes while multiple staff members ignored us, continuing their closing routines. Not a single person asked if we needed help, and our server was nowhere to be found. At that point, we left the salads behind, paid for the rest of the meal, and walked out. Terrible service from start to finish, and the food quality didn't make up for it. We won't be back.

Everything else was terrible. And please note by my reviews that I'm an easy grader. Went with my uncle for lunch. We each had the three meat plate. I chose fattier brisket, pastrami and ribs plus two sides. This came out to $36. Total bill for the two of us was over $100 by adding a drink tax and tip. My uncle got kielbasa, brisket and pastrami. Our guess is that the food is brought in sealed and they microwave or use some similar reheat method and do no "cooking" there. All of my meats were beyond dry. It's really hard to convey how dry. The ribs were the biggest terror point since not only was it as tough as leather but it tasted like it was doused in iodized salt. My uncle's plate was not any better. The kielbasa was sliced and burnt/frayed along the edges - you've got to really try hard to screw up preserved sausage. I could only do a few bites and threw it all in the trash. They were busy and I was not going to stand back in line to have a gripe. They make sure to ask for a tip but there's no service for quality control. My uncle texted me later in the day: "Today's restaurant was such an awful choice for BarBQ. I can't remember when I had worse. We have to go to a real good one next time." It is insane how bad this lunch experience was and a rarity that Yelps score misses the mark so badly.

We came in with our family and three kids and sat on the patio since we were a larger group. After eating, our kids were sitting in chairs near our table, chatting and moving around a bit. They weren't being loud or disruptive, but a nearby a couple clearly seemed upset. The woman was shaking her head and saying to the waitress "this isn't okay to be doing while people are eating", pointing toward our kids. Once I realized this, I immediately called my kids back over and had them sit with us, and I even let her know that if something was bothering her, she could've told us and I would have addressed it right away. The couple chose to ignore us and left shortly after. The manager then came out and reassured us that Lucky Lou's is a family-friendly restaurant and that our kids were absolutely fine. That meant a lot to us and really showed how supportive and understanding the staff is. I also hope one day that couple realizes how hard it is to keep a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old sitting at a table for more than 30 minutes without shoving an iPad in front of them. On top of that, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I honestly had the best burger and tater tots of my life. We'll definitely be back--thank you for creating such a kid-friendly and enjoyable place for families!
