I am now putting it in here due to the server in the 1st picture has threatened me on Facebook from several accounts saying she will hurt me if I don't take this picture down. Nice that a public place allows the servers to threaten customers. Never have been back and will be filing harassment charges. Beware of writing a bad review Sat at the host stand for 10 minutes to be seated, and this is at 10 pm at night, then sat while being ignored by two servers for another 10 minutes. Also, they force us to wear masks anytime we are not sitting down, but the cook can cook all the food without a mask and a server can walk around without a mask. What can you say about Denny's that hasn't already been said. Everyone from the bar crowd to the insomniacs know they're always open. And who hasn't had one of their Slams? Having an hour to kill I stopped in and had a create your own Slam. Bacon, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and an english muffin and a cup of coffee. As the waitress buzzed from table to table filling coffee cups like a bee pollinating flowers, I contemplated the popularity of this iconic chain. Is it their stratigic location? Is it their reasonable price? Or is it just that they serve comfort food anytime of the day or night you need a fix. Without getting too deep in thought my Slam appeared hot off the grill. It would be impossible to remark about the breakfast unless they totally screwed it up, which in this case they did not. It's been at least 10 years since I have been to a Denny's and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I went to this Denny's. I ordered the ultimate omelette with red potatoes fajita style (onions & peppers) with sourdough toast. The omelette was cooked perfectly and was tasty. The potato's were perfectly cooked soft but not crumbly and toast was good. If you are wanting a fancy breakfast place this is not it but if you are looking for good food at a reasonable price with good service then comeback to Denny's like I did. This week I visited Dennys and had the misfortune of being served by Crystal, who seemed completely uninterested in good service or a tip for that matter. What caught my attention at first was the distracting makeup, which seemed overly done and unpolished. My disappointment went way beyond appearance. The food has gone downhill. Bacon was swimming in grease, very thin and translucent, and only 3 inches short. All our food was lukewarm, by the time we got to our pancakes, they were cold and rubbery. And they were stuck together like they were sitting a long time, hard to cut with a fork. Coffee tasted old and not fresh, didn't taste good like it used to. After we ordered, we got our food 5 minutes later, like it was sitting for awhile. Cold and greasy, bad quality. Waitress was friendly and nice, but her eye makeup was theater like, shocking to look at & strange. We had a good laugh. We've been coming to this location for 10 years, quality of food was 10, now it's 2. We will not be returning to this location. Danger Will Robinson, Danger! Tough neighborhood. I've been here twice in the last few years, although I used to frequent the place more back in the 2000's. I'm sorry to say that the Mesa revival hasn't quite hit this area just yet. The first time was at night, and there was a group of drunk twenty something's who had been bar hopping and stopped here for a bite to eat I guess. In any case an argument broke out in the restaurant which turned into a full on brawl in the parking lot. I was with my wife, kid and mother in law at the time so it wasn't a happy experience. Yesterday I got hit up for cash by a tweaker as I was walking across the parking lot. It's a regular thing here so expect it. I used to live a few blocks away from here, so I know it's a tougher neighborhood to live in, but it's still a drag when you know you're going to get accosted before you even get out of your car. Having said that, the waitress was very nice, the tables were clean, and the food was served quickly and was very good. I had the Super Bird, which was full of turkey, so no complaint about the food at all. When I lived in the area, and didn't have a lot of money this was my go to for a decent meal at a reasonable price when I had to get out of my apartment. As an adult I try to avoid the area when I can just cause it's not a great place to be, especially after dark. A security guard out front at night would defiantly make the customers feel better. read more

Second time to eat here. Booths at too low and springs need replacement very uncomfortable on both of the booths we sat at. Service is good but the normal complaining that goes on with the servers shouldn't be done within ear shot of customers but the management wouldn't know since we never saw a manager during our visits. Cooks need to take pride in their food. Tried their new spicy moon sandwich. Which would really be good if cooked properly but done half ass the plate presentation was good but don't look underneath as shown on the picture buttered but not cooked extremely disappointing. read more

Denny's off Southern & Country Club (Mesa,AZ) has the worst hands down management and staff, which also explains why this location has the worst retention and turnover over. They are almost always understaffed, under managed and under stocked on menu items. I am frankly surprised this location has not pulled their franchise license, the staff and service is so bad. Save yourself the time and trouble and go to IHOP off of Dobson and Red Mountain Fwy by Mesa Riverview. I make the mistake of giving Denny's chance after chance and it always turns out to be a horrible experience. read more

I honestly had a pretty good experience but the server hardly checked on us. I had a problem with my food and instead of anyone checking on the table it an additional item was added to my bill. I didn't mind but I would have appreciated someone checking on the table. Had an extremely difficult time getting our bill and a box to go. Then we waited in the lobby for quite sometime before being attended to. We asked for the bill to be split so the server left and grabbed a red haired manager, who greeted us by saying, "Now whats the problem?" Super rude. Had a very condescending attitude. Escalating a situation that didn't need to be. Left with a terrible taste in my mouth.The customer service at this location could use some work. DEBRA IS THE BEST!!! I went in Sunday and noticed the next day I had lost my wallet. After tracing my steps I was 99% sure I had forgotten it in the booth we sat in Sunday. Monday morning I called to ask if anyone had turned it in and they let me know they hadn't found anything but would check the cameras to see if I had dropped it etc and to call back later that day to get an update. When I called in that afternoon Debra the manager had answered and let me know unfortunately nothing was found. I took it as a loss and let it go. Well!! Today as I was at work I got a call from my dentist office and was told Debra from this Dennys had called them to let them know they found my wallet, (I had an appointment card in there & that's how she got a hold of them) I called Dennys and Debra answered & let me know she found it. She went out of her way to meet me all the way in Peoria over by where I work to return my wallet with all my personal belongings in it including my social security card back to me! I am seriously SOOO thankful for her honesty & just pure integrity!!! Thank you much again Debra! Debra is a perfect example of a honest manager/leader that all employers need!
