Here's a polished version of your review:…read more I didn't expect this place to be anything special at first--just another little hole-in-the-wall brunch spot. But I was genuinely surprised by how great the entire experience turned out to be. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The servers were kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The owner even came by our table to talk with us about the restaurant, their values, and the care they put into making everything from scratch. That personal touch, along with a complimentary dessert, really made the experience memorable. The food was outstanding. The chicharrones were perfectly crunchy and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh and paired well with everything on the table. The carne asada was cooked beautifully, developing a flavorful crust from the Maillard reaction, which gave it that rich, savory, slightly crisp exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Overall, this was one of those restaurants that completely exceeded my expectations. Between the warm hospitality, attention to detail, and excellent food, it's a place I'll definitely be coming back to. If you're looking for authentic Mexican brunch with great people behind it, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Also nice clean bathroom

And PLENTY of options which is much appreciated. We all enjoyed our drinks, pretty to the eye and going down the hatch haha (espresso martini not on happy hour-see menu) We didn't get food but damn their ribs smelt so good, I have to come back for that. Plus, you can still order ice cream and I think that's so amazing and they look like they have so many delicious flavors. I want to try that as well. Service was awesome and friendly. Our waitress came back around before the happy hour ended to get any last-minute orders and that was really appreciated. You don't get that often or ever. I love the feel of the bar. The food options are great too. I ordered the fried chicken after hearing so many good things about it. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown for me. It was super crispy and juicy, but also really salty, which kind of overpowered the flavor. The mac & cheese was pretty basic, but the Matador and breakfast sandwich were both solid choices. Comfortable, sorta on the dark side. Classy. As I was not driving today, I decided to try their smoked Old Fashioned. Excellent -- and the dark cherries they use are the perfect addition to the cocktail. (The glass is coated with smoke from a smoldering piece of pecan wood, and the cocktail was served with a cloud of smoke under a coaster covering the glass.) The pig sickles ( ribs) were the perfect chance to make a pig of myself. Had the two meat plate, pig sickles and barbecued pulled chicken, If you like corn, you must have the side of corn with your dinner. The barbecue beans were delicious. Our server did a magnificent job tending to our drinks, appetizer, and food orders -- despite being very busy (the place was packed! -- and seemed like she was in constant motion. Very nice individual who liked la Prices? It was expensive, but the best barbecue always is. Eating isn't cheap. It was well worth every dollar spent. All in all, it was a perfect dinner. The perfect parting gift: a small paper bag containing four small donuts, coated with cinnamon. Our bag didn't make it home... I think we've found the perfect place to bring our family and out-of-town guests for dinner.

The girls may be bad, but the service is too…read more I stopped into Ojos Locos on a Monday night following a D-backs loss. After watching a shellacking, I thought, "Hey! Why not stop into Ojos Locos? I'm sure that'll put a smile on my face." Wrong. If anything, it added insult to injury. I sat at the bar and immediately noticed I was one of maybe four patrons in the entire place. There were multiple girls working, including one sitting at a table taking selfies on her phone. I was greeted by the bartender, who seemed nice enough. She recommended the chips and queso, which admittedly were decent, and I ordered a Dos Equis. For my entrée, also at her recommendation, I went with the Mexicali tacos. Whew. The service went from acceptable to nonexistent in a quickness. Once my order was placed, my bartender would rarely speak to me again. She did, however, find plenty of time to make TikToks with a patron sitting two chairs down from me. The second bartender spent much of her time talking to him as well. Meanwhile, I sat there with an empty beer and no food for well over 20 minutes. I received multiple check-ins and multiple assurances that my food would be "right out." It was, in fact, not right out. Eventually, I grew tired of waiting and asked for the tacos to simply be boxed to go. By the end of my roughly one-hour visit, I had consumed one beer, eaten some chips and queso, watched approximately three or four TikToks get filmed, and received four separate assurances that my food was almost ready. Eventually, my "extra-special tacos made with extra-special love"--the bartender's words to make up for the wait--finally arrived. I opened the box to discover that the shrimp wasn't even left whole. It had been chopped up and scattered throughout three tacos. So it took roughly an hour to produce three tacos containing what amounted to maybe nine chopped-up shrimp? Yeah, nah. I understand the concept of Ojos Locos. The attractive staff and atmosphere are obviously part of what they're selling, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But the looks don't make up for nonexistent service and the inability to produce three shrimp tacos in a reasonable amount of time. I came in hoping Ojos Locos could salvage the evening after watching the D-backs get their asses kicked. Somehow, I left feeling like I had taken two losses that night.

When I called ahead to make arrangements for our group, I was told that parking at CityScape would be validated. Based on that information, we arranged for our group to park there. What was not communicated to us was that the validation only covered one hour. By the time we left, our party had four cars and our guests had to pay an additional $40 in parking. The restaurant's Executive Chef later acknowledged in writing that the one-hour limit was not clearly communicated to us on the phone and apologized, even saying they were changing their reservation team's process so the limit would be stated on every call going forward. However, they refused to reimburse the $40 parking expense. Our parking issue also wasn't the only problem. Two members of our party waited approximately 45 minutes for their meals, food came out in waves, and my husband's burger was extremely salty. We were there for a family celebration and chose not to turn the evening into a confrontation by constantly complaining at the table. We simply tried to enjoy our time together. We appreciated the initial apology and acknowledgment of the issues. However, when we declined the offer of complimentary appetizers on a future visit because we had no intention of returning and don't typically order appetizers anyway, the tone of the final response became noticeably defensive. We were told that our reservation policies were available on OpenTable and that our reservation was made and confirmed there, despite the fact that we made our reservation arrangements over the phone. The only link we received afterward was to add a card to the reservation. For a party of 15 that spent over $400, I don't think asking for reimbursement of the $40 parking expense--especially after the restaurant acknowledged the parking policy was not properly communicated--was unreasonable. Instead of simply accepting responsibility for the communication issue, the final response focused on defending the restaurant, shifting blame, and ultimately stating that they "consider the matter closed." I've attached screenshots of the email exchange so people can see the full conversation and decide for themselves. We won't be returning. This review is simply an honest account of our experience and hopefully helps future guests make informed decisions.

Outside is just as high class and wonderfully decorated as the inside. We even got a couch booth and got to sit next to each other. We did the summer special which was the best special I've ever seen. $60 per person and you get a generous glass of wine, app, entree, and dessert. We both got the curried corn bisque for the app and my oh my I greatly enjoyed this even on a hotter day. The Smokey popcorn was a nice textural addition and the soup was so flavorful, the curry definitely shined through! We also both got the fried chicken for entrees; how could I not order the gluten free fried chicken!? Yes, naturally gluten free! This was outstanding. I'm not sure what the coating is, but it was so so flavorful and so crispy, and the chicken still so juicy. I could eat that on its own. The pepper jems were a cute touch! The mashed potatoes were so creamy. The chicken was placed on top of them so the bottom of the chicken did get soggy so my one suggestion is to place the chicken to the side, but the coating did rub into the potatoes which added some more flavor. The green beans were also tasty, nothing special, but the pistachio butter elevated it (nothing else needed the pistachio butter, not sure what else you use it for). I had a chocolate cake for dessert, the only gluten free dessert they offered me, but I still appreciate the option. It was just okay. The cake was dense and a little dry and didn't scream rich chocolate. There was a chocolate mousse layered in which helped. My boyfriend had some sort of strawberry cake mousse thing with layers of many different things - he thought it okay, I tried the mousse part and really liked it. We had red wine and it was delicious! The service was great, very attentive and they packed some ice in a cup for me because we weren't going home after!
