Big shout out to the staff at this location for accommodating our group of approximately 40 hungry high schoolers at 10pm on a Saturday night. Steven handled the whole group - drinks, shakes, breakfasts, burgers, onion rings, etc., etc - all with separate checks and was efficient and so friendly. Meanwhile, Vanessa took care of the 12 or so parents -equally efficient and friendly! It was very clean, and the food was surprisingly good. I went to your establishment and received the worst possible customer service from our server Megan D. She wasn't being attentive at our table the whole meal we had. In the middle of our meal she decided to take a break. In addition to our meal we discovered mold on our fruit and reported it to the cashier. The cashier called the manager over to us and he totally disregarded the photo we showed him of the food. He tried to look up our receipt for the transaction but it wasn't in the system since the waiter made us pay already. He responded by saying he would of applied a credit for the meal but since they already took the money there was nothing he's going to do for us. This is my spot, from back in the day. I used to come here when I was younger on the late night. We would stop in around 2am for some food on the way home from the strip club, or whatever was going on that night. Anyways, fast forward, my wife got a special for a free breakfast value slam on the Dennys app for her birthday, and we came to this location. It's much nicer on the inside than it used to be. It's definitely been remodeled since back when I used to come here. I got a chicken bacon ranch sandwich sandwich and fries. she got the value slam, which was 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 pancakes and she added some hashbrowns for an extra buck or 2. It was a ton of food, and it was so cheap, and good! I think the value slam was like $6. You can't even make that food at home for that price. Irritated. My family are so kind they would not complain BUT I would for them. We ordered 4 Grand Slam breakfasts for pickup. I saw my stepmom eating her pancakes and they were dark; like charred. Walked in, place was packed but the bar was open. Ordered 2 slam burgers, one regular and the other gluten free. Kerri was our waiter. Although it was rush hour the food came out relatively fast. The coffee was fresh too. Overall pretty happy experience. The main thing that made me rate them as 5 is because of the waiter, Kerri. Aside from general food service, the people that serve you can make or break your experience. She was funny, humble, asked all the right questions on how to make our food, got our food exactly right, had a sense of humor, checked in on us periodically, just all the great things you'd want from a restaurant. If you are lucky enough to get Kerri as your waiter you are in great hands. Sometimes I feel myself chasing "new this" and "new that" or "fancy this" and "fancy that" for Yelp reviews... what's the latest trend - blah, blah. I don't think it's a bad thing at all to circle around and hit the classics now and then. Denny's is definitely a classic. While waiting for my food, I tried to count the number of states in which I've been to a Denny's. I made it over twelve, but then things got a little fuzzy. I've also been to Denny's at various times around the clock - early morning, late morning, three in the morning, evening, late evening, whatever - it just seems to be there when you need it. If you've read other reviews of mine, you may already know that it was a Denny's in Bakersfield that spared me from having to find a tree or bush to pee behind because a gas station / convenience store just off of 99 has the incredibly inconvenient policy of closing their bathrooms late at night. Getting back on track - I was looking for a simple, inexpensive, non-fast-food dinner... and I figured Denny's would fit the bill. And it did. I've developed some favorites at Denny's over the years - Moons Over My Hammy, the Super Bird, Country-Fried Steak (along with the Country-Fried Steak and Eggs breakfast variant)... but this time I wanted to try something new. Crazy Spicy Skillet caught my eye - as if I need some more crazy in my life - but yes, I'm still doing my best to be grain-free and this dish was marked GF for Gluten-Free... so it seemed to be a good candidate. I scanned through the description pretty well and didn't see any potential problems. Gluten-Free is not the same as grain-free, but it's a step in the right direction. The GF labels in the menu definitely help me narrow the field. The waitress asked me if I wanted to add a couple of eggs for a buck, and that seemed like a good deal to me so I added them. I ordered the eggs over easy... but I was very surprised to see that they were cooked more than "easy". Nothing I would return, but puzzling more than anything. Most Denny's cooks... IHOP cooks... whatever cooks can and do "nail" eggs in the over easy, over medium and over hard range with incredible accuracy because they've done it thousands of times. Most could do it in their sleep! (some probably DO do it in their sleep). But anyway - I figured it out - these skillets come out to the table sizzling hot... like fajita sizzling hot. The egg continues to cook. So I'm sure the eggs were over easy when they were first plated, but by the time I got to eating them, they were more to the over medium point. The dish was good. I wasn't Crazy Spicy in my opinion. The menu says it has chorizo sausage in it... but what was in there didn't seem like chorizo to me. It seemed more like a spicy breakfast sausage, which could have been a substitution in the kitchen or something... not sure. The jalapenos were pickled... not my preference... but I'm being picky here... overall, the dish was good - I'll even say very good. This is a nice clean restaurant with adequate parking. I took 2 friends to lunch on Christmas Day. The place was extremely busy but we were seated within 20 minutes. Two of us ordered the turkey dinner with stuffing, cranberry sauce and corn. It was a good traditional meal. My other friend had the lumberjack breakfast. We all enjoyed the food and left Denny's full and satisfied. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I was craving a Joe's Sramble on my way home. Didn't know any breakfast places nearby. Turned to my trusty Yelp app and it showed me this Denny's. I was seated and given a menu right away by the host. Kerri, my server, was helping a number of other tables and stopped by to ask if I wanted coffee or anything else to drink. She is so high energy in a good way. Denny's does not have a Joe's Scramble or equivalent. Their Skillet Supreme looked promising but I didn't feel like bell peppers today. I settled on a Club Sandwich. When Kerri came back I told her my dilemma. She said they could leave off the bell peppers and asked if I liked avocados, that she had it that way the other day. Excellent suggestion! The Supreme Skillet was delicious! It's a bed of potatoes with mushrooms, sausage, onions, cherry tomatoes and spinach on top. It's all topped off with two eggs cooked your way served in a cast iron skillet. Service is excellent and the food is delicious! The restaurant is clean. I would definitely come back. read more

This Denny's is my usual spot and I'm a regular. I always enjoy the servers who are usually very kind & always accommodating If they can. Until tonight. The worst waitress ever works there, and having been a waitress I feel I can say that, She was overly reactive, defensive, childish & she walked away a couple times & just dismissed me. She was very dramatic, kept telling me she's trying to do her job, she threw her hands up in the air a couple times right before she would walk away, she would dramatically react then step back then leave.. it was the most bizarre situation. So you may wonder where did the problem start? Well, I asked if I could substitute the potato sticks that comes on a Cobb salad with squash... This was the 1st over reaction, when she came back to the table she was arguing about how she has to charge me, she did offer cucumbers, which I accepted, But she was triggered again with a reaction because my lack of excitement bothered her, I said ok let's move on and I'll add the prime rib, to which she threw her arms up again and said they are out of prime rib, I had been easy going so far But I did react with rolled eyes or something and she again got emotional and listed 5 or 6 more add ins they don't have... before I could ask what they did have she literally stomped off again. Honestly, it was so ridiculous, no need for it at all. She returned again to the table & I asked to speak to the manager, she said fine stomped off Again, left there about 10 minutes, finally Jim went to talk to me, I explained, he was very calm, said I'm sorry, but honestly he did not go to any effort to really hear or help. Nice man, pleasant and calm But no out reach to correct the situation. So my daughter and I left. I will be calling headquarters tomorrow and reporting her as well as to the store manager And she did not wear a name tag so I have to find out her name. I come to this Dennys twice a week. Mondays and Thursdays.... my daughter has class from 8:30-10:00 on those days. Instead of driving home to Folsom and then coming back I go to Denny's to have some coffee and a bite to eat. Today was the first time I had any interaction with #HILDA. I patiently waited in line.... Another family came in after me. Side note (I am FULL Mexican but appear to be very WHITE) After standing there for 10 minutes, she begins to interact with the HISPANIC family behind me (in Spanish) mind you I understand Spanish. She had asked them how they were and if they needed a table. After they responded, she THEN asked me if I needed help or a place to sit. I told her yes.... She said I'd be next. Hilda eventually got to me and sat me at a booth.... That she had to clean prior to seating me. She immediately asked me if I needed something to drink... I asked her if I could have a cup of hot water.... (Bcuz I had a tea packet in my purse) she immediately said YEs. I had waited 15 minutes..... and never received my water. I had watched her go back and forth interacting with other customers. Very frustrated I asked another waitress who delivered Immediately! She eventually brought me my plate. She set it down on the table, I said thank you, and she walked away. It happened so quickly I didn't get a chance to ask her for hot sauce.... Which normally they ask you if you would like any upon delivery of your food. After about 10 minutes I had to flag her down to ask her for hot sauce. I honestly felt like I was inconveniencing her. She brought it back a few minutes later. She came back once more to drop off the check. She never asked if I needed anything else. Any water... a box. Nothing. I Never saw her again. I actually had to go up to the counter to request a box. I was pretty disappointed. I hope to not receive her service again. She made my breakfast experience SUCK! read more

Daniel P's service was impeccable and did a wonderful job. He was so good, I almost forgot I was Denny's, and felt like I was at Morton's steakhouse. He looked extremely professional, acted professional, and didn't make one mistake. It's truly a pleasure to meet people who excel to this level of customer service. This Dennys is even in a less desirable area, so I think it's commendable he can be that good under those circumstances. 5 stars just because this place has always been my friends and my go to for a 24/7 place at any given time of the day. We normally come here around 2-3 am, and the waiters recognize our faces. Food may not be the highest quality but I still give the highest rating based off customer service, and excellent portion size. I had the cali club sandwich which comes with turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, avocado, mayo, lettuce and tomato. Had the choice of fries which I usually get for the side. This might not be the healthiest sandwich but it sure was very tasty. Whether I have the munchies I always seem to enjoy dennys right after. Workers always greet us with a smile despite how late the time is. It can be frustrating when they deal with rude, drunk customers but they always seem to handle the situation just right!
