Terrible customer service, manager has a miserable personality, I walked in and there was no greeting, no offer of a table. I had to ask someone and she responded "sit wherever you want". I asked for a menu and she very curtly replied "wait". Ten minutes later I get up to ask the manager. He refused to get me a menu and said that's not his job. The busser who could have gotten me a menu was standing there staring, so rude and ill mannered. I walked out. They probably spit in people's food. This is the nearby Denny's to my house. I always tend to come with my family or take to-go. Unfortunately, there are items always missing. I grew tired of telling them to reassure my order. Today I ordered take-out and the hash browns was missing on two of my orders. I called in to speak with the manager, and this obnoxious lady that works there thinking she is the queen of the world had the audacity of saying I was lying. I later spoke to the actual manager and he sounded a bit more sane. But overall I wont be coming here, ever. Employees here are incompetent. PS: food is mep, steak was to cardboard-y. If you want your food served to you nice and warm then come to this Covina Denny's location. Not only are the special new buttermilk pancakes done right here unlike other surrounding cities Denny's, but they offer a variety of tasty creamers for your coffee and have a fantastic service team. Our server went above and beyond asking us if we wanted more coffee and creamers throughout our meal even after she brought the bill, that is true customer service. Not once did we feel neglected there or like she asked too frequently, perfect service and a perfect served warm and delicious entree. Very disappointed! The service was good, but the free birthday breakfast promo is a sham now! You have to join the Rewards program, which is fine, but then the system error comes up...how convenient! Then I ask if manager can waive the charge due to the system issue, but of course the answer is "no." The manager should have the authority to waive the cost due to the system issue, so I don't buy that story. It's not the cost that's the issue, but the principal of the matter. Came with the family for dinner. I was impressed by our servers multi tasking abilities, June. She was super fantastic. The tres leche pancakes were delicious June was nice, friendly, fast, and waiting her tables on good time. I like when servers check on you often. If you're just hungry, without much thought about the experience and quality of ingredients, then come here. If you're expecting a good experience, more then likely, you can make something much better on your own. This place isn't kept up very well, dust can be seen on the wooden railings by the seating, the bathrooms look as if they don't get cleaned everyday, not even every other day, the actual dinnerware is old, scratched, and even chipped with big chunks missing from the glasses. The service leaves much to be improved. Not necessarily a friendly place, you find better service at fast food restaurants. Overall, the quality of food at denny's has decreased throughout the years. This place is no different. I'm no chef, but even I can make something better than what I received. I ordered the make your own skillet and it came out luke warm but my potatoes were dry and burned. Our waitress warned us of the hot plating, there was no need, a baby wouldn't have minded the temperature. The couple next to us ordered coffee and they got two cups of cold coffee, they had to ask for just brewed. I do believe that some places have just given up and take advantage of their senior diners. Was in the area so me and my boyfriend decided to come here for a late dinner. Wow, pretty much our best experience at dennys, I believe our waitress was named sandie she is just the sweetest lady ever! That is how waitressing is done she was so fast, nice, and made us feel at home. The food was good like always.Once we finished our meals sum couple next to us gave us a coupon it was 50% off our order!! I eat red meat once a week, usually a hamburger. They are ad'n a not frozen, hand smashed burger. The first one I tried was very good. It had a ragged edge indication it was indeed hand smashed. I would only change the amount of 1000 island dressing I asked for. (You'll get mayo otherwise) Literally dripping out of the buger on the table. That and their weird potato paste fries was the only negative. Great buger! Second burger, next week, was: Not smashed, a tiny amount of grilled onions, (You get more at Five Guys, and that saying a lot!) 2 rings of red onion. I asked for "Lots of onions". The 1000 Island dressing was on the side and the kicker I found two small pieces of bone. (About half a pea!) This is always a shock! Did I just break a tooth?!! I show the waiter, he said "huh!" And walked off... Offered nothing in compensation. (I didn't ask) In the past was offered a desert or such. The bits of bone were off putting I won't eat there again. Denny's... The perfect place for a large group of people wanting to hang out for hours with no interest in the quality of the food as long as it's edible. This specific location has great service which is nice because I hate to be served by someone who visibly hates their job and they seat you pretty quickly. The giant downside is that the food is downright mediocre and entering Denny's is like entering a cave with an aging interior. This place is definitely due for a face lift. I definitely was not there for the food but for the company of my friends. The waitress came with the bill for about 18 of us and she comes to me saying, " I'm not supposed to do this, but I have a 5 dollar coupon" that I could use if I paid the bill all at once. I have been here a few times, when I was a student at Cal Poly Pomona. The meals were delicious, as with any typical Denny's restaurant. Especially delicious were New York steaks. Service by waiters and waitresses was fast and courteous. The place itself, from what I remember, was quite clean. This place has amazing service at least during the days. My Father in Law is 82 and goes in everyday. They know him by name and what he is going to order. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak omelette and a stack of pancakes which is my usual breakfast at any Denny's. I was asked if I wanted to add avocado to my omelette, to which of course I replied yes. I was a little disappointed to see three slices of avocado on my omelette. If you're gonna charge me $2 for extra avocado don't skimp me, gimme half the avocado at least!
